Chapter 2: The Western Ruins

Ryu arrived outside of the Western Ruins, it was a cave entrance, the entrance was decorated with sheikah design. Ryu picked up a branch and wrapped a cloth around the top, he then used his Blue Flame spell to ignite the cloth creating a torch.

Ryu held the torch in one hand and kept his other hand on the hilt of his katana as he walked through the ruins.

Ryu kept up his guard, checking his surroundings and treading carefully through the abandoned ruins. He eventually came across a large mural on the wall, it was of a hero clad in green fighting a monstrous boar-like creature.

Ryu: "What's this?"

Ryu feels around on the mural and finds a loose section, he pushes it in and hears a loud click. The mural slides open revealing a darkened stair case.

Ryu: "A secret passage?"

Ryu made his way down the stair case which led into a large open room with a large structure. The structure was a pool-like base and above it was a large rock with the sheikah eye on it, it was dripping some kind of blue liquid into the pool-like base.

Ryu: "I don't think I'm gonna find him here. Damnit!"

Ryu looked around the room some more and found a skeleton covered in some kind of black and purple goo. Ryu made his way to the pool and submerged in the water was a man. The man was only in a pair of swim trunks, he had white hair that had a streak of red through it, the man also had a scar across his left eye.

Ryu: "A person? What is he doing here?"

Ryu grabs the man by his shoulders and carefully pulls him out, he puts his ear to his chest and checks for a heartbeat.

Ryu: "His breathing is fine."

The man coughs a few times and slowly opens his eyes, his right eye was green and his left one was pure white because of the scar. Ryu also noticed that the man was wearing a pair of black scale-like gauntlets, the tips of the gauntlets were red.

Ryu: "Hey, are you alright?"

The man groans and holds his head in pain, he notices the gauntlets and looks at them surprised. He looks around the room and notices Ryu, he immediately puts up his guard and prepares to fight. Ryu throws his hands up in surrender.

Ryu: "Whoah, whoa, whoa, I'm not gonna attack you."

Man: "Who are you?"

Ryu: "I'm Ryu, and who are you?"

Yanagi: "My name's Yanagi. Do you know where we are?"

Ryu: "We're in the Western Ruins, west of Kakiriko village."

Yanagi: "Kakiriko village? How did I get here, last I remember I was in Tarrey Town?"

Ryu: "Let me take you back to town, you sound like you need a doctor."

Yanagi nods his head and follows after Ryu, but before the two can reach the stair case they hear a loud growl. The two look behind them to see a skeleton covered in some black and purple goo, in its hands was a large war hammer.
