"You had just one fucking job, make sure we don't get lost and you failed at it" Mazs replied in anger as he grabbed the map from Bella's hand.

"Must I do everything myself, every fucking time" he murmured out loud so everyone could hear him, the others looked at each other.

"Here," he pointed at a village on the map,

"There is a little village over here, judging from our current location, it would be a few minute's rides away," Mazs said as he got on the carriage, while the other followed jumping into the carriage.

'I cannot live like this, I need to make a name for myself, what was the main reason I joined this freaking guild, first it was fun but now it is just a burden,

They are loud, noisy, dirty creatures, Bella always leaves water everywhere I know you are a mermaid but can you at least consider the other people around you, No need to complain" he sighed.

At the back of the carriage, the rest of the party was arguing. "It was a lich," Kimiko said.

"No, it wasn't a lich, you were already drunk before we entered the dungeon, you didn't follow us" Dre replied as he phased out from underneath the carriage.

They were arguing about the latest dungeon they raided, Kimiko the cat person always loved drinking, she spent most of her day drowning in alcohol, sometimes she would get so drunk that others would leave her behind when raiding a dungeon.

"Where have you been, Mazs was looking for you" Mose the Minotaur said.

"What does he want, tell him I went to Feast on a deer, I need souls to stay strong and to stop myself from ripping you guys apart," he said as he took the seat close to Kimiko, the carriage became quiet after Dre's outburst.

After riding quietly for a few minutes the village came into view, it was a well-defended village with a small wall surrounding the village, with two watch towers and a guard beside the entrance.

The carriage stopped in front of the guard "Greetings, my name is Mazs and this is my fellow guild member, we are seeking to resupply and rest for a little while" he said.

The guard walked around the Carriage inspecting it, he opened the rear, and his seemly lifeless eyes moved from one person to another, his facial expression didn't change even as he saw the demi-humans, his bored expression stay remained on his face.

"Alright, you are free to go, don't cause any trouble if you don't want the guards at your neck," the guard said as the gate opened.

"wow, this village looks amazing, " Mose said, the village had concrete-tilled roads, and a clean environment, it didn't have the normal village settings.

The carriage continued forward as the adventurers looked around the village from the comfort of their carriage.

Villagers were moving around, some children were running, and some were just standing staring into the void, "Mazs, what's wrong with those people, they are just standing doing nothing" Amocni said, he wasn't the only one who noticed this strange behavior.

"Probably because something evil took over their minds, and they are on the lookout for people like us, who could put them in danger" Dre replied

Mazs stooped the carriage and turned to face Dre, at this point all eyes were on him "Are you serious, this isn't one of your monster's pranks" Mazs asked.

Maybe it was because Dre was a Phantom, sometimes he would prank the others, they once raided a village because Dre told them a villainous fend was going to corrupt the people only to be laughed at.

"Dre, this is no time for a prank, am too tired for such pranks," Amocni said.

"If you guys don't believe me then suit yourselves, am too bored to fight any monster in the first place," Dre said as he dematerialized, disappearing from everyone's view.

"Sigh..... Let's forget about it, even if it was true, we are not here to fight monsters, just to resupply and rest, as long as the evil doesn't come looking for trouble, we will not seek it out,

That lich took a lot of energy from me, I need to rest" Mazs said as he continued to ride the carriage, he was not a demi-human like his teammates, he was a human being, and he needed rest and food to be able to function properly even being a level 23 Nuclear rank he still needed rest.

After riding around the village, they finally got to the Golden Rings Inn, which was located further away from the village center, the group of adventurers got down from the carriage and made their way into the inn.

The inn was filled with people, most of the people present were farmers, it looked like the inn was divided into two, some were drinking, talking, and playing different games, while the other group had seemly bored expressions on their faces, they just sat down in one booth as they sip their drink slowly, it was as if they were waiting for someone or something.

"There they are again, I think Dre was telling the truth, something must have taken over their minds" Bella whispered into Mazs ears.

"Can we get a room please" Mazs did not bother listening to Bella, he was going to stand by his words, if the monster did not disturb him, he would leave it be, but his teammates had another idea, Bella moved away from him.

"What type of room are you looking for, we have 2 rooms with a single bed left, but you are in luck, the other occupant staying in the VIP house just left, so if you can afford it, it has 3 rooms 2 bath, and it is not too far away from us," the receptionist said with a beautiful smile.

"How much the VIP would cost us?"

"It's very cheap sir, it would be yours for a day at 15 gold coins" she replied with the same beautiful smile.

The adventurers were taken aback by the price of a single house, it would cost them almost all the coin they gathered from the last dungeon. Mazs just sighed as he paid for the room and collected the key.

He tossed the remaining coins to his teammates, he already knew they were going to find the evil creatures taking over the villager's minds.

"Knock yourselves out, but don't come running back, when you face something you can't defeat, am going to bed, goodnight everyone" he yawned as he left the inn towards the house the receptionist described to him.

"Those demi-humans cannot think straight, a creature powerful enough to take over more of the people's minds must be at least a BISHOP-grade monster, and that is at least, what if this one is stronger than Bishop grade' Mazs murmured to himself.

He didn't have plans on endangering his own life for people he didn't know or even care about, as he walked through the partway his eyes drifted from place to place, his eyes landed on a beautiful lady, she was wetting some Flowers, Mazs changed his direction from the rented house to the lady.
