She knew she could easily request a change in waiters, but she knew that would only make Ezra all the angrier with her. Besides, she did not want to seem so desperate as to beg for his presence, affection and attention.

Cleo knew him through and through, and she was well aware that his shift was not ending anytime soon. Heck, it had only just begun, and he was not going anywhere. She could still see him and get him to speak to her today because she could not waste the time, energy and money she had spent just being at the diner.

"I'll have a milkshake," Cleo said to him.

"Which type exactly, ma'am?" Danny asked politely as he took her order.

"Um... The vanilla special would be fine by me," She said to him.

"Vanilla special milkshake coming right up. It would be here any minute from now," Danny assured her with a smile before taking his leave.
