Pretentious bastard

Nina's eyes widened with fear and horror. What were they doing here? This was the place she lost her best friend. The river where she had fought with Lucifer. Her mind went blank and she was not thinking straight.

Memories of her killing Talon appeared in her head and she tried to push it off.

"My Lady? Are you alright?" Sara shook her.

"I'm fine." Nina just nodded her head and stared at the river.

Conner, one of the Elders went inside the river with Lucifer standing close to him. Slowly he dipped Lucifer inside the river and allowed him to drown.

The memories of what happened thousands of years ago was playing so fast in Lucifer's head. He saw Gabriel standing close to him with other Angels. He was on his knee staring at them. Blood was covered in his entire body.

Not a bit of pity passed through their eyes as they stared at Lucifer. And before he knew it, the holy sword went through his chest. He was pushed off from the face of heaven down to earth.

The memory left his head as quickly as possible and when he opened his eyes he was looking more dangerous than ever before. The blackness in his eyes blurred out the white. After gulping a mouthful of water, he rose from the river with so much power in him. He held Conner by the neck.

Conner began shaking. His whole body was trembling and an unpleasant cold made his way inside his body.

He opened his eyes to see Lucifer and saw that everything in Lucifer had changed. He was in his beast form with two horns burning out of his forehead.

"You stupid Elder." He cursed.

"What is happening?" Devon tried to reach out for Conner but an invisible wall blocked him from going further.

"This is a bad omen. The ritual was supposed to last for five minutes but it ended with thirty seconds." Devon muttered.

Lucifer blew out air from his mouth to Conner. The air howled around Conner and he looked away. He shook his head as nothing happened after that.

He couldn't believe Lucifer had acquired so much power in thirty seconds. His father, lasted for seven minutes before he got so much powers.

Conner looked down at the water and horror covered his face. There lying on top of the water was his body.

"W…what did you do to me?" Conner stuttered. His eyes widened with fear.

His body began to flow away. He still didn't understand what was going on? Why was his body flowing on the water?

"I called out your damn soul out of your body." Half of Lucifer's face slowly turned into raw flesh and everybody gasped in shock.

Conner didn't know how to react with the sudden news. He looked down again and saw that his body has sank in the water.

"Give me one reason why I should not cast your soul to hell?" And then he blew out air again before the Elder disappeared from sight.

"All hail His royal Highness! New king of the Underworld!" Devon didn't need to be told twice before ordering everyone.

They all went to their feet and bowed their heads. They were all surprised at the sudden change of Lucifer. His father was not evil like him.

They bowed their heads making sure it touched the ground. Lucifer looked around to check if everyone was bowing their heads. He was extremely pleased but the devilish smile in his face dropped when he saw one woman still standing.

She refused to kneel.

"My Lady you have to kneel. His Majesty would not be happy with you." Sara pleaded.

"Why would I kneel? Who does he think he is?" Nina remained standing. Maybe this was the right time to kill him.

At the disrespectful gesture, the place went quiet. The temperature around dropped so low. Sara shivered in fear. Why does it feel like there would be a storm soon?

The air around Lucifer was so cold. Sara was surprised there was no icicles forming on the tall trees.

The look that Lucifer gave Nina was so bone-chilling that it made Sara lower her head more.

"You must have a lot of courage to stand before me." His voice was so thick and filled with anger. Sara nearly fainted in fear.

Having toughened her skin with so many torture at the demon house, Nina didn't flinch at this behavior. Sure he was more frightening than the Devil in the void but she didn't care.

Nina ignored all the warning signs from him and stood still.

He suddenly blocked the distance between them and appeared in front of her. "You should kneel when your king ask you to."

"You're not my king!" She retorted.

"Then we should go through the hard way." He held Nina on her shoulder and tried to pull her down to her knees.

PAK

The sound of the heavy slap rang throughout the whole place. The people held their breaths with their eyes growing wide at the sight in front of them.

Lucifer's face was immediately swung to the right with so much force. The slap was taken by surprise that his demon hid in fear at what happened. He immediately shifted to his human form.

"You pretentious bastard you're not my king!" And then Nina teleported to meet Hannah in the room she kept her.
