Chapter 12: Transformation

(Lucas POV)

I sat on the floor and Rias sat opposite of me. She is holding a Rook chess piece in her hand.

Rias: "This is a Rook Evil Piece. It focuses more on power and defense....." Rias explained to me its advantages. She then cast a Magic Circle on the floor "Let us begin the Ritual."

The Rook piece suddenly flew and entered my body. I can feel a sudden surge of strength. 'Ahh, I want more.' I thought greedily. I then waited for my transformation to become a Devil but there was no reaction to my body. It feels like... I am still a Human.

I looked at Rias and said: "You really did scam me?!!" I asked like a bereaved dog.

Rias on the side was triggered and her eyebrows were twitching. 'Take a deep breath Rias, just calm down'. She took a deep breath and analyze what went wrong.

Rias: "I can feel that the contract has not yet completed." She said. She thought of something in her mind.

Rias: "The strengths, talents, and skills of the being to be reincarnated plays a large role in determining how many pieces will be used for reincarnation." She explained. "The problem is, different Evil Pieces cannot be used and I already used my other Rook piece". She added. I can see her face was in a dilemma. Akeno and Koneko from the side saw what happened and made a worried expression.

Lucas: "How about you just try other pieces." I looked at her and suggested. 

Rias hesitated for moment. "Okay, let me try it." She decided and took out a pawn. The pawn flew and entered directly on my body.

Rias, Akeno, and Koneko were surprised as it works. I also felt that my strength increase a little.

Lucas: "I think I need more Rias." I said to her in excitement.

Rias nodded and took out another pawn but there is still no reaction to the contract. She took out another pawn until 8 pawns were already entered my body but still no reaction. Rias was already depressed and don't know what to do. She looked at me as if I did something wrong to her.

Lucas: "uhhh, I think I need one more major piece." I asked innocently.

Rias: "Bastard!" She cursed at me angrily. then she took out a "Knight Piece" in her hand. 

Rias: "If it still doesn't work, I don't know what to do anymore." She said with a serious tone then throw the Knight Piece into me. 

The Knight piece entered my body and I greedily enjoyed the sensation of getting stronger. 'It really is addicting'. I thought

I looked again at Rias: "Is there m--" Before I can finish my word, I saw Rias with an expressionless face looking at me. She seems like she's about to explode. 

I swallowed my words and gulped. 'Okay this should be enough. Thanks for the meal.' I thought inwardly with satisfaction.

I then closed my eyes and said in my mind. "I Accept the contract".

The Magic Circle glows brighter and Rias felt that the contract is reacting. She was surprised and overjoyed and look into my direction. 

I can feel a surge of power in my body. My bones seems to harden and my blood boils like a hot magma. My back seems want to release something. "Urgghh" I felt pain all over my body. 'It f*cking hurts!!. Rias never told me it would be this painful!' I cursed as I felt my body was hot and painful.

The three girls watching the process were stunned especially the two, Koneko and Akeno. They did not experience something like this when they were converted to a Devil. Rias on the other side was also flabbergasted as it is her first time to see something like this.

Rias: "Akeno!! Seal the area!." Rias ordered and Akeno hurriedly complied.

I endured the pain as it subsided little by little. I stood up and feel the strength of my body releasing some pressure. The three girls retreated back as they can feel the power I released. Rias can feel the pressure of a High-Class devil emitting from me and her eyes are shining as she looked at my direction.

I released my wings which is not like the wings Rias has, Its dark red in color and the appearance between a dragon and a devil wings. I soared to the sky breaking the roof as I can feel something in me will explode.

I was hovering steadily at the sky. "Grooowl" I did not know why I growled. "Power, Overwhelming!!!" I said in a deep voice as I look at my hands and grip it. I perform a fetal position before releasing the power inside of me. "ROARRRRRR". It should be a shout but I don't know why my mouth is roaring like a beast. The seal cracked and collapsed like a broken glass.

At an abandoned church, there were fallen angels discussing some things with a white haired priest. The leader of the group seems to feel something and looked at the direction of Kuoh Academy. "Hmm? Is it the Heiress of the Gremory House Dohnaseek told me?" she murmured and looked away.

In a unknown place, a little girl suddenly opened her eyes. She flew outside and hovered in the sky. She looked at the direction from afar as if sensing something familiar. "Red?" She murmured then flew towards the direction.

(Lucas POV)

I felt refreshed after releasing the excess power inside of me. I need to get rid of the excess energy or else my body will explode. I can feel that I cannot absorb and handle such power for now as my body is still at the primary stage. 'Ahh, too much greed will really kill you' I thought.

I checked my body and it seems I grew a littler taller and my skin and muscles are more toned. Well my face is always handsome as always. I nodded in satisfaction and flew down to meet my comrades.

As I approached the three girls, I can see their amazed expression. I inwardly felt proud to myself.

Rias: "How do you feel?" Rias asked me. "You seem to grow taller." She added in a surprising tone. The two girls also checked on me after hearing Rias.

Lucas: "I feel f*ckin great!!" I answered with a little excitement.

Akeno: "~Fufufu, You look more handsome Agawa Kun." Akeno teased me. "And your aura seems the same with Rias." She added amusely.

Koneko and Rias also nodded happily as this is good news to them.

Rias: "Your starting point is great. You really exceeded our expectation." Rias commented with a praise. "By the way, have you done something about the contract?" She asked as if she remembered what happened.

I can see her looking at me doubtfully. 

Lucas: *Cough* "What are you talking about. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary." I answered like an honest person.

I was startled when she approached me and grab my collar and started shaking me.

Rias: "GIVE ME BACK MY EVIL PIECES!!" She cried in grievance while shaking me.

'What the--'. I was confuse for a moment. "Rias Sama, I think you heard it wrongly. I said I did not do anything." I said it to her again.

Rias: "Don't think about lying to me!! I already knew something was not right when you cough!!" Rias actually only guessed it. She observed Lucas awhile ago before the ritual that he always cough when he lies.

'Holy S**t'. 'I was careless. She is really observant'. I cursed myself inwardly. But what she said is true. I don't know why but it seems there is something inside of me that can overdrive the contract. I can also feel the Evil pieces inside of me changing.

I looked at Rias with a confused look. "Rias Sama, that is just some coincidence. My throat felt itchy so I coughed." I shamelessly made an excuse.

Rias just looked at me with a blank and dark expression as if saying "You are Shameless." She sighed and shook her head. She did not dwell to the topic any more.

Rias: "Never mind. It is getting late. Let us continue the discussions tomorrow when all of us are present." she said as she look at the two girls. "Let's take a rest. it has been a tiring day for us." She said. Akeno and Koneko nodded in agreement.

Rias looked at me. "Once again, welcome to my peerage Lucas. Let us all get along with each other." she said with a smile.

I nodded and after a few more talks, I bid farewell to them.

As I was walking on my way home, I carefully examine my new acquired power. 'It seems Akeno said that I am now the same level as Rias'. I also have a different color of wings but that did not have a problem as many other devils have different form of wings. 

I tried to control and get used to my strength as I sometimes exert strength abnormally when touching things. As I was having my happy thoughts, I heard someone suddenly talked behind me with a monotonous tone.

...: "You are so weak. How are you related to Red?"
