"Sir, we think that we found where they are hiding." A soldier called out, while rushing towards his side. The mid-aged man did not even glance a look as he ordered the man to go to the location where they were found.
"Finally, I will be to see my daughter again." Thoughts were rushing into his mind. Even though he was furious about the decision that his daughter had taken, he could not fully blame her. He understood the reason behind her action. However he had missed her dearly. Moreover he also had a promise with the Herewealth family that Loraine would be married of to them.
Making his way to the house, he saw that more and more knights were joining them up. The moment that they arrived in front of the door, all the knights that had followed them to Valencia had joined up.
One of the knights dismounted and knocked on the door. A young woman opened up the door. A faint conversation took place, however it seemed that the convincement had failed as the woman shut the door with anger. Feeling rather irritated by this, he decided to take action himself. It was time for him to take action.
Dismounting his horse, he walked up to the door, with a gentle knock, he spoke up, "Young lady, please open up the door. I just want to talk a bit."
An angry voice called out from behind the door, "How many times do I have to tell you. The ones that you are looking for are not here. So leave me alone already."
"I know that you are trying to protect them. I do not care if they are there or not, I just want to talk a bit. So can you please open up the door? I do not like to talk to a door."
There was a moment of silence, before the door slowly opened up. It was just enough for a head to pop out. It was the woman that previously closed the door in anger. "The door is open. So what will you talk about?"
"You surely are a good friend. I am happy that my daughter could find such a reliable persons and friend in Valencia. I am grateful for your help and your protection of her." He spoke with a gentle voice, which had no other meaning behind it.
The woman froze on her spot. After a moment of silence she regained her composure and continued the act, "I have no idea what you talking about." Looking behind the him, she whispered in his ear, "Thank you."
Understanding that he gained a bit of thrust of the woman, he asked in a soft voice, "Can you allow me to see my daughter at least. It has been many months. I do miss her. I was not even able to give her a proper farewell."
Thinking for a moment, the woman behind the door, opened it up gently. However she did not remove her eyes from the rest of the knights. "You can enter, however do not stay too long. And order your men to stand down."
Having the opportunity, he turned around and ordered his men to stand down as long as he was in the house. No one was allowed to approach the building. Saying that, he entered the house after the woman. Walking a few steps, he spoke up, "Forgive my manners, I haven't introduced myself. I am Thomas Bloom, head of the Bloom family in the King's City."
The woman, didn't even look back and just said a simple word, "Alice."
Making his way up the stairs he heard a sword being sheath from its scabbard. Unbuckling his sword sheath, he put it in front of him as he entered the room. The moment he entered the room, he threw it to the ground.
…
James saw a sword fly towards the ground. He understood that the other party was not there with ill intentions, otherwise he wouldn't dare disarming himself.
Initially, James wanted to sheath his sword as well, however he was unsure the moment he laid eyes on the man that entered. It was Loraine's father, the current head of the Bloom family. Instinctively, he held Loraine behind him, fearing that he might do something in anger.
"Father? What are you doing here?" Loraine asked from behind of James.
However instead of answering to Loraine, Thomas looked over to James and bowed his head. "I am sorry young man for putting you both in such a terrible situation. Unfortunately I was forced to do this." He then looked over to Loraine and spoke up with a gentle smile, "I am here to visit my daughter. I have missed her quite a lot."
Upon that, James felt that Loraine exited the protection of James and rushed over to her father with arms wide open. Seeing this, James realized that she would have missed him as well. He decided to sheath his sword, as the situation currently was a lot calmer.
Looking at the father and daughter, he saw that they missed each other a lot. Seeing them in such a situation, James thought back to his parents and the state that they would be in.
James saw that Thomas pushed Loraine from his as he started to look over at the three people and spoke up, "I think that it is best for us to talk a bit before making a decision." With that he walked over to a chair to sit and looked at the others expecting them to sit as well.
