A romantic - comedy story about the shy girl and the popular guy in the university. How does it make a difference for a Born Again Christian Girl in a non-sectarian school?

Hello! I am Caitlyn Santos. I became a Christian since I was nine. That was because my father became a pastor of a Protestant-Christian community church. I grew up in this community where I usually attended Sunday School and Youth Fellowship. I also studied in a Christian school. I have a best friend named Jackson Ricks whose father is also a pastor. We are both going to a non-sectarian university. I knew this is unusual but we are both Born Again Christians. Come, let's hear our story...

It was a Home Coming Assembly Night when the university's pep squad organized a cosplay party in our school's basketball gym. By the way, they also have swimming pool where they hold the swimming competition and swimming lessons.

I met a new friend in school. She joined the Camera Club. We are both college freshmen. She is definitely going to that party. My dear best friend Jackson Ricks really wanted to become member of the pep squad. He is also a cheerleader in his former school. He would be going to that party too.

My father insisted that I should not go to that party because there would be drinking beer. He is also afraid that I might get drunk. But, my dear best friend Jackson Ricks promised my father that he would take care of me. When my father gave us an approval to go to that party, I decided to wear an Egyptian Princess costume. Jackson Ricks is wearing a Darth Vader costume.

There is a contest for ladies who would be attending the cosplay. The winner would have an opportunity to date the best good looking guy in the university. He is no other than, Red Mathews. He is the team captain of the pep squad. I really like Red Mathews.

This contest is like a beauty contest. I see some girls are wearing fabulous sexy costume like vampires, witches, elves, angels, zombies and fairies. Some dressed like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Onassis.

I remembered the Halloween is originated from a Pagan tradition but it is too early for this season. It is just a cosplay party. The coach of the pep squad, Charles Rickson, asked, "Does your costume represent Cleopatra?"

I denied, " No, sir. This costume represents the Egyptian Princess in the Book of Exodus. Exodus is one of the books in Old Testament. The Egyptian Princess who adopted Moses when he was baby. Moses is the God's anointed prophet who lead the Israelites out from slavery in Egypt.

Some people say, "Boo". But, I fully accept that not all people are interested from the stories in the Bible. On the other hand, I won the Question and Answer round.

The next challenge for me is to dive in the pool and take the small blue flag. If I am able to get the blue flag, I am able to date Red Mathews.

Jackson Ricks asked me, "Are you sure that you are going to do this? What if you will get hurt?"

I replied, "No, I am fine. I am the best swimmer in our old school, remember? Even if I am drunk, I would be fine. Thanks to you that you are providing me drinking water instead of beer. And Red Mathews is good looking. I really like to date him."

Jackson Ricks shook his head, "You are really drunk."

All people were silenced when they heard me spoke at that moment. I didn't noticed that there is a microphone beside us. Now, everybody heard what I am thinking about. But, Red Mathews looked at me. He also smiled at me. And so, I proceeded to do the challenge. But, I managed to swim safely and get the small blue flag.

There are three mean girls who did not win the contest. They play pranks on me. They took my costume so I am just wearing only my swim suit. And, I had my picture taken with Red Mathews. These three mean girls are members of pep squad. Red Mathews talked to these girls to give me back my Egyptian Princess dress.

Red Mathews said to me, " When I first saw you in your Egyptian Princess costume, I thought you are my Egyptian Princess. Guess what does my costume represent?"

I replied, "Uhm... You dressed like a Roman leader so you are Potius Pilate who crucified Jesus Christ. Am I right?"

He laughed at me, "No, silly. I am Julius Caesar."

I smiled at him, "Yeah. I know. I am only just kidding."

On the next day, Jackson Ricks and I started a campus ministry. I think everybody is tired because of the party last night. Most of the members of our youth fellowship could not make it. And, I am so happy about the good news. Jackson Ricks make it to the pep squad after he passed the try-out this morning. I also got admitted to the swimming varsity team.

We were surprised when Red Mathews arrived at our fellowship venue.

I asked him, "How did you find us here?"

He answered, "Wild guess!"

He came to us to give us the printed copies of the photos taken from the party last night. And so, since we are now three in the group, we formed a small Bible Study. Jackson Ricks lead our Bible Study. He read, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such these there is no law."

Jackson looked at me and asked, "Caitlyn how is the Holy Spirit working on you?"

I replied, "I liked to admit that I commit mistakes sometimes. I used to be impatient and unkind. My Dad always remind me in the light of the Scriptures."

Red Mathews started to become like clueless of what we were talking about. He is not get used to this type of conversation. That was the first time that Jackson asked Red Mathews, "Red Mathews, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?"

He stammered, "Uhm... I am so sorry. I don't know what you were talking about. I used to go to a Sunday School when I was a kid. But, when my family moved to another place, I stopped going to Sunday School. I also became busy with school's extra-curricular activities."

Jackson replied, "Don't worry. We would work out on that."

It is my turn to tell Red Mathews about the Good News that Jesus Christ was crucified to save His People who believed in Him from their sins. In order for Red Mathews to be saved from his sins, he must accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. So, I initiated a sinner's prayer.

And so another party came along. Red Mathews and I started a relationship together. We were in adjusting period since we have lots of differences. I am a shy girl. He is a popular guy.
