Room 115th ( Oneshot )

There was a campus near a lake beside some tall mountains. The campus was quite small and had a few long 4-story buildings, each having around 5-10 classrooms per floor. Despite being big, This school has an average number of students since it's a public school, but not too many as it is isolated from the city. The class hours mostly start at 7am and ends at 6pm.

One day after school, Damian, Vere, and Valerie have to do a project for their last group activity in their biology class. However, since it's already late and it had gone quite dark outside, they decided to ask their teacher if they could just use their classroom for making the project, since they thought it was safer than going out and looking for another place to make the school work. The teacher hesitated at first but after the further insisting of the students, the teacher agreed and left them the classroom key, before leaving the campus, the teacher told the guard at the gate that some of her students are still in her classroom making a school project and they might finish late.

As time passes, more and more students are leaving until it's only them left in the building, Since the night is getting darker, the students decided to turn on their classroom lights, but after turning on the lights, it started to flicker, like a dying heartbeat that is producing a clicking noise that repeats at regular intervals as the light blinks on and off.

"Ugh, this is annoying," Valerie said. "How are we supposed to work like this?"

"Maybe we should go to another room," Damian suggested.

"Nah, it's probably just a glitch in the system," Vere said. "It'll fix itself soon, also the other rooms are locked, that should be obvious, right?."

They thought it was annoying and turned the lights off, then used their phone's flashlights instead. But as they were about to continue working, the lights turned on again, by themselves, and this time they were not flickering. They shone brightly on their classroom's light yellow walls and old posters.

"That's weird," Vere said. "Maybe someone is messing with us from the electrical room."

"Who would do that?" Valerie asked.

"Maybe it's the janitor," Vere said. "He's always grumpy and creepy."

They found it weird, but shrugged it off to conceal their disturbance and fear and assumed someone was playing a prank on them from the electrical room. They turned off their flashlights and continued with their project, not long while after, the lights started to flicker once again, making this repetitive clicking noise. They got scared and turned them off again.

"Okay, this is not funny anymore," Valerie said. "Let's get out of here."

"You're not thinking we're being haunted are you? haha yeah sure, maybe we're being hAunTed," Vere joked.

"Don't say that," Damian said. "That's not funny."

They used their flashlights for the second time and continued their project. The atmosphere of the classroom changed, as if you could feel their fear as they tried not to act scared. Time passed and nothing has happened, they felt relieved and believed that maybe the lights were just malfunctioning.

"Finally we're almost done," Vere said.

"Let's finish this and get out of here," Damian suggested.

"Yeah, I'm still feeling quite worried," Valerie said in a shaky voice.

"Hey, do you actually think ghosts are real?" Vere asked. "What happened earlier was just a coincidence, don't get too worried about it, alright?" Vere assured.

They then continued their project, in hopes to finish it. The room was quiet, all you can hear were the noises from the gusty wind outside and the curtains blowing. Just a few moments before they finished, their phone's flashlights started to flicker. They blinked rapidly, making them dizzy and confused.

"Yeah no, maybe you're right, This is something else," Vere said in terror.

"Forget about this damn project, let's just go," Valerie said, quivering.

They panicked and decided to leave the room as fast as they could. They could barely see each other as they packed their things, they were about to run outside the door when then the lights came back on, but this time it's a lot dimmer and still flickering. All they can hear is the buzzing sound coming from the lights. The room looked different now, more sinister and distorted.

"...."

The three of them went silent and frozen trying to process what just happened. They looked at each other, hoping at least one of them had a clue on what was going on. You can tell from their eyes that all of them we're scared and confused, as if they're seeing their beliefs slowly get crushed in front of them. Then they heard something that almost made their hearts drop; a faint distant voice coming from one of the lockers saying "pssst" as if it's calling them, they turned to look towards the locker and saw from one of the door vents; an eye peeking and looking straight at them.

The End.
