Mr. Flynt!

Kane was glaring daggers at the man on the screen who just so happened to be outside. He knew exactly who the man was. Sure he could have guessed who the man was based off his description in the game, but he didn't even need to do that.

He pulled up a file he had been looking into, and from it Luna and Radar could see the description of a man, the very same man who was standing outside their ship.

"So... Atlas sent an assassin to kill us." Radar said, downloading everything on the file into her database. "So the reason he's dressed like that is to make us lower our guard?" Luna asked, wondering why the man was in a Promethean spaceport worker uniform.

"Most likely. *Sigh* Well... I didn't want to, but we're gonna have to kill him. Open the guest bay, seal the doors, then ask him what he wants. If he lies, kill him, but if he admits to who he is and why he's here, I'll hear him out." Kane said, knowing which action he would most likely be taking.

After all, it wasn't every day that Zane Flynt, the OPPERATIVE took a job.

Kane watched Zane make his way onto the ship, then have the door close, sealing him into the room he was in.

"Hello, Mr. Flynt. How may we help you today?" Kane said over the intercom, not even bothering to keep up the pretense of being fooled.

"Well... shite!" Zane said, shaking his head. "And here I thought this was gonna be an easy job. Well, boyo... wanna let me go?!" Zane asked, showing a winning smile to one of the camera's in the sealed room.

Kane watched him for a moment then let out a small laugh. "What exactly was it you were trying to do here?" Kane asked, not answering Zane just yet. First he had to see if Carl hired him, which was the most likely situation, but there could be another.

"Afraid I can't say, boyo. Client discretion and all that. However my drone Zoomer never agreed to anything like that!!" Zane said as he summoned his drone.

As soon as the drone was activated, Kane activated his own little defense force. 8 turrets were activated, one in every corner of the cube shaped room, and every one of them had their sights locked onto Zane, not the drone.

A clear toxic gas was also slowly being vented into the room, although it wouldn't kill Zane, it would make him sluggish and eventually put him to sleep in about 5 minutes.

If he couldn't explain himself within the time limit, Kane would kill him, but if he did explain himself and Kane found it acceptable, Kane would dump him somewhere within the city before he left this shithole.

Either way, Zane only had 5 minutes.

Kane also had a device that would unleash an electrical surge within the room, disabling all devices, shields included, but he would wait and see if the drone did anything worth frying it's circuits over.

"And you thought I was being too paranoid!" Kane shout whispered at Luna, who stuck her tongue out at him before moving her eyes back onto the screen.

She had thought he was over planning, but he told her there was no such thing. And here he was, proven correctly once again. It just went to show she still needed to be more untrusting. If that was even possible.

They waited until a clearly recorded message from Zane started sounding from the floating drone. "If you're hearing this, ya captured me! Well done!! I sure hope I managed to make it a good fight at least!" Zane's voice echoed out, sounding all happy and excited, causing him to shake his head.

"How the hell do I skip this shite!" Zane shouted as he messed with some controls on his wrist.

"Any who!! I was hired by the CEO of Atlas to retrieve $17 million dollars that he paid for a deal, then he would get one of the bounties on my head removed so I wouldn't be hunted by the Obsidian Block. You know, the usual stuff. Anyway!! Ya let me go, I drop the contract by sayin we already got business together or something, and I owe ya a favor down the road! Whaddya say?!!" The recording said, then shut off, followed by Zane extending a hand to the camera.

"Sure!! When you wake up you'll find an ECHO in your pocket detailing about how you owe me one, and if you refuse when I ask, I'll hunt you down and erase you!! Goodnight!!" Kane said, causing Zane to frown in confusion.

He wasn't confused for long as he fell right on his face a minute later, a distinct cracking sound to be heard. After he fell, Kane hit switch, causing a burst of electrical energy to wash over the drone and cause it too to slam into the ground.

"Alrighty then!! Scan all of his gear and upload the specs into the system, then put one of the tracking devices into his drone and or on his person. Just somewhere he won't find it. For someone of his reputation, I don't believe for a second that he won't try and find us down the road." Kane said, to which Radar beamed in joy.

New gear was always welcome, and with just a glance it was obvious that the drone was custom made with tech she had never seen before, and if there was one thing an A.I. like Radar loved, it was new toys.

"I also wanna make a deal with him..." Kane said as he pulled out an ECHO recorder and began to record a message. If Zane was anything like he was in the game, Kane was gonna use him to deal with some people, and he knew just how to do that.

As soon as Kane was finished with recording out his proposal, he put it into a small flat box before he had Radar slip it inside Zane's pocket, as well as tie something on Zane's wrist. "Did you scan all of his gear?" Kane asked as Radar returned from putting the envelope inside Zane's pocket.

"I did!!" Radar said excitedly, acting like a giddy little schoolgirl. "He has a prosthetic eye that has more tech in it than most weapons we've seen! The drone is also something I'll use for project-BFR and the eye, but I'll make some changes so it's more suited to me!" Radar added as she started going over all the files.

While she did that, Kane decided he would go and dump Zane's body somewhere, although he had to make sure that Zane wouldn't get murdered in his unconscious state.

Venting the room free of gas, Kane made his way inside and threw Zane over his shoulder before he walked outside the ship. He didn't really have a set destination in mind, so he started teleporting in some random direction until he saw a building with a hotel sign on the front of it.

Rather than rent Zane a room, Kane put him on top of the building next to the sign. 'Free room!' Kane thought mentally, laughing a little at his own joke.

No one in their right mind would find Zane up here, and when he finally came to, he could figure out where he was and might even get a laugh out of the little joke himself.

Heading back to the ship, Kane thought about what he would do after this. He knew one fragment of the vault key was on Athenas near that monk sanctuary place thingy, and the other was in the possession of Katagawa Jr, or would be in his possession in the future after he murdered his brothers and sisters.

'Should have got info from Carl about who he sold the fragment to!!' Kane thought angrily as he made his way inside the ship. He still had a few hours to go before he could break inside and steal the fragment, only now he would be leaving a present for Carl.

Nakayama was suppose to have poisoned him sometime this year, but Kane figured since he was gonna be killing Nakayama anyway, he may as well get rid of Carl too. He had his own plans for the future, and didn't really care one way or the other if the story played out the same, hell he could probably improve some peoples situations while ruining a few others.

----------------------------------------------------------------

When night finally fell over the city, Kane made his way back to Atlas HQ. Normally anyone traveling through the sky would be a perfect target for the turrets on watch over the place, but with his teleportation, the turrets didn't even register that something was flying overhead.

He also made it a point to take a few of the better looking turrets for himself, as well as acquire the contents of a surveillance room. He had most, if not all of this stuff already, but it wouldn't hurt to take everything just to be sure.

Unlike his first time in the base, Kane didn't bother to go through the elevator. This time he teleported to the top of the building, it being completely illuminated by the billion and one lights around the place.

Getting to the top, Kane had to do a few quick teleports to avoid some defenses he hadn't known were up here, but it was simple enough. He also noticed a few surveillance camera's, but with his Atlas soldier get-up, he didn't think anyone would associate it with himself. Sure Zane could probably say it was him, but with the contents of his letter, Kane figured he was good for awhile.

Disabling/robbing the security at the top of the building, Kane stayed close to the side of the building as he tried to find the window looking into the Carl's office. It only took a few seconds before he found it, the teleported inside without tripping any alarms.

He thought there might be some motion sensors or something, but he instantly found out why they wouldn't be active. Halting in his steps, he stayed as still, and quiet as possible, not taking his eyes off the three people sitting on/around one of the sofas.

Carl was far to busy with the two naked women next to him to notice Kane, and they were making enough noise to keep their attention away from him.

'Should I...?' Kane thought cruelly.

He was going to just poison or leave a bomb here for Carl, but with him here and no guards around, Kane wasn't sure he could pass this up. Plus with Carl here, it made getting the fragment a bit easier, and he could find out who he sold the other fragment to in Malliwan.

Mind made up, Kane teleported behind Carl, giving the woman who was bouncing up and down on his dick a perfect view of him. Upon seeing Kane appear out of nowhere, she started screaming in panic, but Carl and the other woman interpreted it as her having an orgasm.

Before she could really say any coherent words, Kane pulled out an oddly shaped gun, then fired two quick shots, one into each woman. It took less than five seconds for both woman to fall to the ground unconscious, tranquillizer darts sticking out of their necks.

The woman bouncing up and down on Carl fell forward, her unmoving body making Carl wonder what the hell was going on. His wonder turned to fear when the barrel of a gun was placed to the back of his skull, followed by a deep Darth Vader sounding voice, no doubt from a voice changer.

"Make any sudden movement or sound, and it will be the last thing you ever do!!"

The terror was evident on Carl, but it just made Kane happier. Here was a guy who tried to fuck with him, had failed miserably, and was now going to pay the price.

Kane grabbed the terrified Carl by the hair, pulling him towards his desk. "Show me the contents of what's inside the desk!!" Kane demanded, then shoved the barrel of his gun deeper into Carl's spine, making the man very uncomfortable.

"Any safety precaution you have in place, just know, you will die if it goes off. It doesn't matter what happens to me, because you will die!" Kane clarified, making Carl start sweating.

Carl did the same movements Kane had watched earlier, not activating any failsafe or alarm. So scared was he, Carl pulled item after item, making Kane smile in delight under his mask.

When Carl had finished his task, Kane looked over the mess of items laying out on the desk. Of course, 1 Vault key fragment, a shiny golden pistol, 3 ECHO recorders, a hard-drive, and the best of all... Atlas stock certificates.

"Would you look at these!!" Kane said smugly, as he let go of Carl's hair as he picked up the stocks. "Whoever has these, is most likely the primary shareholder of the Atlas Corporation! No doubt they're worth a pretty penny!!" He added as he gave the bond certificates a good once over.

"What percentage of the Atlas shares am I holding right now?" Kane asked evilly, looking down to the sniveling Carl.

"S-Sixty p-percent...." Carl squeaked out, snot and tears now pouring down his face. He knew without these shares he was as good as dead, but there was nothing he could do here if he wanted to keep his life.

"Oh that's just beautiful!!" Kane proclaimed as the stocks and everything else disappeared from off the table. He wouldn't cash these things in or do anything with them for now, already knowing full well how the stock was almost at it's lowest at the moment.

He would wait, maybe find Rhys and make him take over, although that would be after he dealt with Handsome Jack. If he tried giving Rhys control before that, he had no doubt Jack would rip Rhys apart for shits and giggles.

He would become CEO it himself, but that sounded about as fun as cutting his dick off with a butter-knife. Politics and responsibilities were not his forte, nor was dealing with an abundant of soldiers and workers.

Killing the soldiers and workers was more his style, but he figured he may as well do that to Malliwan or Hyperion. Vladof and Dhal would be fun to fight with too, but for now he figured he would deal with what he knew about for the foreseeable future.

Done with that, Kane turned his gaze down to Carl. "Who did you sell the other fragment to in Malliwan?!!" Kane asked, although it was more of a demand.

Carl stuttered incoherently for a few seconds before Kane slapped him across the face. "Use your words!!" Kane shouted as he put the barrel of his gun right under Carl's nose.

After taking a few deep breaths, Carl answered, "Akihiko Katagawa. The next in line to the Atlas Corporation."

(A.N. I wasn't sure if Katagawa Jr. was the one who purchased the fragment or if his family had bought it, so I'm gonna go down this route.)

Kane had no idea who Akihiko was, but considering Katagawa Jr. had all of his older brothers and sisters killed so he could be the next in line to inherit Maliwan, then it was understandable why it never mentioned him.

With that knowledge in mind, Kane stared intently at Carl. Honestly he had no use for the guy, and he had tried to have him killed, so... without a goodbye speech or any words being said, Kane grabbed a nearby chair and slammed it down as hard as he could over Carl's naked body.

Carl screamed and tried to get to his feet, but no matter how he tried to get away, Kane was always there, a new piece of furniture from somewhere in the room in hand.

It was sloppy, and not at all the work of a trained killer, something which Kane was counting on people believing.

Once Carl lay dying in a pool of his own blood, Kane crouched down beside him, grabbed his hand and dipped the man's index finger into the blood before he began to write out something on the floor.

*Nakayama____)*

Kane had spelled Nakayama with Carl's own blood and his own finger, then trailed off like he died as soon as he finished writing the name. Kane's only hope was to shed some light on where the creepy little fuck was, then either have him killed, or kill him himself.

Nevertheless, Kane was done here. He walked over to the two unconscious women, plucked the tranquillizer darts from their bodies, then left the place the same way he had entered.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting back to the Arcadia, Kane had Radar set a course for Athenas immediately. He had no idea where to start looking for the Katagawa family, but he figured something would pop up if he looked long enough. As for the mess that came with Carl's death, well... he just didn't care.

In the game, Handsome Jack purchased the majority of the corporation so he could build it up again for the sole purpose of destroying it just because he could. This time, Kane would let Jack spend whatever amount he wanted on Atlas shares, but no matter what he would still be the majority shareholder.

Hell, he might just sell his stock to Jack, then take it back once he kills the guy!! I mean really, he got them from killing Carl, and although he figured it would be a bit harder to kill Jack, it was still very possible. 'Let's do that!!' Kane thought darkly, a little giddy at the whole scenario.

"Hey, Radar!! Remind me to put some Atlas stock certificates up for auction on the ECHONET once Hyperion makes it's claim on Pandora!" Kane said, smiling as he sat back in his chair. Radar made a note of it, then began launching into space.

"How long is this trip to Athenas going to take?" Kane asked curiously, not sure as to the distance of Athenas. "About a day if we don't encounter any problems, and we don't make any unnecessary stops." Radar answered, getting nod of approval from Kane.

He wasn't in any particular rush to get the key fragments, but it would be great to get it over and done with sometime in the near future. The Vault on Eden 6 would probably be the easiest to get to, considering Montgomery Jakobs had the completed key.

The only problem Kane could foresee, would be convincing Montgomery to let him open the Vault, but that was a problem for another time.

He already had the Pandora Vault Key, and Typhon Deleon had berried the completed key for Nekrotafeyo, so as long as he acquired all the keys before Tyreen and her bitch of a brother Troy set out to leech the Vault monsters, everything should be fine. Plus it was more goodies for him, so another win.

As for dealing with the monsters inside the Vault.... well, Kane was probably just going to blow them up with a few bombs, or dismember them, or do something fucked up!! Either way the monsters would be dead.

The thought of using the monsters as they were intended to by the Eridians crossed Kane's mind, but in the end he decided against it. He didn't want the warrior like Jack did, nor did he want to use the Sentinel from Elpis to acquire knowledge of the future and have glowing purple eyes.

The whole point of coming to the this universe was to have fun doing the things he loved best. Slaughtering to his hearts content, stealing and cheating people, while frequently having sex with pretty women.

So far, he figured he was doing a pretty good job at it, and saw no point in going down the Handsome Jack route to cleanse the universe of the filth, or the Calypso twin route of becoming a God.

Plus, after having met a true God, one that created the whole universe in what felt like a blink of an eye, Kane didn't think calling himself a God even came close to appropriate.

Nope!! As long as he could keep killing, have sex, and steal to his hearts content, that was all he needed to be happy!

(Zane POV)

"*Argh!!* What the shite happened?!!" Zane groaned as he rolled over onto his side, his head throbbing in pain. As he rolled over, he felt something unfamiliar inside his jacket.

Reaching inside his jacket, he pulled out a small hard plastic case, and upon inspection, realized it was a case for an ECHO device.

"What the feck...? Wher-" Zane mumbled, finally taking in his surroundings. He was on top of a hotel in the middle of the city.

"He... Hehahahaha!!" He let out a uproarious laughter, most likely alerting people of his position, but he couldn't care less at the moment. Whoever had put him here, had a sense of humor like that of his own, and that was an extremely rare find.

More intrigued than ever about who the mystery man was, he took out the recorder, he pressed play.

"HELLO, ZANE FLYNT!! YOU KNOW ME AS RICK MORTEMOUS, BUT WE BOTH KNOW THAT'S NOT MY REAL NAME. ANYWAY, YOU AGREED TO OWE ME A FAVOR AFTER I SPARED YOUR LIFE. I ALSO TOLD YOU, I WOULD KILL YOU IF YOU FAILED TO HOLD UP YOUR END OF THE BARGAIN, AND BELIEVE ME, I WILL!!"

Zane hummed for a moment, the memory of how he had been trapped on that ship coming back to him. "That's right!! That did happen!! How GREAT!!" He exclaimed joyously. It was rare for him to ever lose, and this just pumped him up even more.

"I HAVE A PROPOSITION FOR YOU, MR. FLYNT... MORE LIKE A GAME, IF YOU WILL. TIED TO YOUR WRIST IS A BLUE CLOTH WITH A SKULL LOGO ON IT. I HAVE ONE SIMILLAR ON MY WRIST, THOUGH MINE IS RED WITH A SLIGHT DESIGN CHANGE. WHOEVER CAN TAKE THE OTHER'S ARMBAND, CAN COLLECT A FAVOR FROM THE ONE WHO IT WAS TAKEN FROM. THAT MEANS, THERE REALLY ISN'T A POINT FOR EITHER OF US TO KILL THE OTHER, CONSIDERING THE FAVOR COULD BE CASH!!"

Zane was excited!! No, he was thrilled!! This sounded awesome!! "Oh, Boyo!! Where ya been all me life!!" Zane shouted happily.

"WE'LL CONSIDER ME GETTING THE UPPERHAND AND KNOCKING YOU OUT, MY FIRST VICTORY, LEAVING THE SCORE, 1-0 FOR ME. FOR MY FAVOR, I WANT YOU TO HUNT DOWN AND KILL A MAN WHO GOES BY, PROFESSOR NAKAYAMA. I DON'T HAVE A PHOTO OF HIM, BUT HE IS A SMALL WEASALLY KIND OF MAN WITH A STALKER-LIKE OBSESSION FOR A MAN NAMED JACK WHO WORKS FOR HYPERION."

Zane rolled his eyes at that. "A course he wants me to kill someone for'em!!" He said in annoyance. Everyone always wanted him to kill someone or another.

Sure that was his profession, and one he was darn good at, but why could they never want him to rob a brewery? Or maybe spend a week in a brothel!!

Whatever!! Didn't matter to him. Although he was annoyed at first, he quickly got excited once he heard the next part.

"DON'T THINK IT WILL BE THAT EASY!! THIS WILL BE A COMPETITION!! THERE ARE A FEW ASSASSINS WHO ARE ALSO AFTER THE TARGET. SHOULD THEY GET THE GOOD PROFESSOR FIRST, YOU WILL STILL OWE ME A FAVOR!! BUT SHOULD YOU GET HIM FIRST, THE DEBT IS SETTLED, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE 10 TOKENS. YOU CAN USE THESE TOKENS TO HAVE ACCESS TO GEAR AND TECH THAT CAN'T BE FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE KNOWN GALAXY, AS WELL AS RARE ALCOHOL THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE, SO IT WOULD BE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO WIN! IF YOU KILL HIM, FIND A MAN NAMED, MARCUS KINKADE ON PANDORA. HE WILL BE ABLE TO CONTACT ME. DON'T DISAPPOINT ME NOW!!"

Upon delivering the message, the ECHO recorder shut down. "Oh, I like this guy!!" Zane said with glee. It had been sometime since he was this excited, and now he couldn't wait to meet him again.

He was so excited about his new job, he barely registered the alarms going off in the city around him. "What the shite's goin on around here?!!" He yelled out, but no one could hear him over the alarms.

Making his way down to ground level, he saw a pair of Atlas soldiers running in his direction. Waiting until they were close by, he popped a bullet into one's skull, then grabbed the other and dragged him inside a nearby alley.

"What's goin on?!" He asked the remaining Atlas soldier.

"P-PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!!" The soldier shouted, causing Zane to shake his head. He didn't care much for these kind of things with small time soldiers. If it was another assassin or a Vault hunter, he would have enjoyed it far more, but all the stuttering, crying and begging was just an annoyance.

"I won't kill ya, if you tell me what the FECK is goin ON!!" He shouted in what he thought would be a comforting manner, although not too comforting. He didn't swing that way.

"A-Atlas CEO, Carl Holton was found dead in his office. We're supposed to lock down the city!" The guard explained with minimal stuttering, although his have crying wasn't helping anything.

"SHITE! That Ricky boyo sure works fast!! Okay, you sleep well!!" Zane exclaimed, then bashed the man's skull in with the butt of a pistol.

With that done, he decided it would be best to lay low for awhile. He also had to get into contact with a friend of his, and see what he could dig up on this Nakayama fellow.

"I'll win!!" Was the last thing he shouted before he vanished into the shadows.

I know I didn't do the man justice, but the point was I tried. Anyway, enjoy!!
