Meeting the future in laws part 2

Lucifer was feeling warm and fuzzy right now that stubborn woman was his and he couldn't wait to get her to admit that she really liked him. Lucifer knocks on the door to announce his presence, "Rogue are you ready? We're going to be late if you don't hurry." He could hear a soft gasp and the door was quickly opened by Lola, "Lucifer she will be right out. We just need to settle a date for our first meeting." Rogue tapped Lola's shoulder and she moved over so Rogue could exit the room, "We will have our first staff meeting Monday at my home. Do you think that you will have your people ready by then?" Gigi and Lola both say they would, "Have Jonah give you my address and give me a call later today. I will see you Monday."

Lucifer waves bye to them and gently holds Rogue's hand as they depart. Rogue tenses up a little but ignores him which Lucifer interprets as her liking him grabbing her hand. As they walk through the lobby two sharp gazes followed their progress one filled with hatred and another contemplative. "I hate her, I want you to die Rogue Drake," Lisa's face was twisted in a hateful manner. Cece glances at her and stays quiet, it seems like Lisa has kept some secrets from everyone. I'll have to dig around a little bit information about this girl. It seems like she has wasted her time sucking up to Lisa, it may be more beneficial for her to befriend her cousin after all Rogue's family was more powerful than the Drake's but for now she's got to make sure Lisa doesn't damage her reputation in the company just in case she needs to use her.

"Lisa calm down, there's people around watching you. Come on let's go and get you some tea to calm yourself down." Cece drags Lisa towards the cafeteria before she brings calamity their way. Rogue we will meet again, Cece machiavellian smiles lights up her face as she spritely walks away.

Meanwhile Lucifer and Rogue are silently riding the car towards Rogue's grandparents home each one absorbed in their inner thoughts and feelings about the days happenings. Rogue tiredly sighs and rubs her temples, Lucifer breaks his reverie and glances at her, "Are you ok? You seem exhausted." Rogue nods and frowns, "I'm fine just a little tired and frustrated with my cousin as usual. I really can't understand why her and her family act the way they do. I'm not the enemy but they act like I'm their biggest arch enemy and I don't know why." Lucifer's gaze darkens with rage but he quickly tries to calm down, he had her uncle's family investigated and he knows the maltreatment that she experienced when she lived with them. "I know exactly why they did it, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out, the reason is greed and envy. Your uncle and his family feel that they should have inherited everything when your parents died and that's why they did what they did perhaps hoping that something macabre happened to you. I'm ashamed to say this and it may be a bit morbid but maybe the accident that you had was a blessing in disguise." Rogue smiles sadly and doesn't respond but unfortunately she completely agrees with him which makes her tear up. She quickly looks out of the car's window as hot tears silently run down her cheeks hoping that Lucifer doesn't see her devastating feelings.
