Spreading One's Horizons

[Author Note: Trying a new format at the end in Authors Thoughts there will be the list with his summons and residents. I also added a section that tells how much he used in the chapter and how much he has left for those of you who wanna keep track. Let me know what you think about it, hope you enjoy :-)]

When he was woken up by the bear cub which was moving away from him and closer to his mother. Tyler shook his head "I'm gonna make you like me sooner or later."

He sat up and went to his room to check on the hall that had the creature's rooms in, they were still sleeping while the skeletons just stood there standing. They had their swords ready to use in case any of the animals tried to escape.

Tyler nodded "They seem to be behaving for the moment."

He went down to the second floor and looked at how far the skeletons had gotten at the expansion. At the moment he had 3 plant beds that were 12ft wide by 12ft long with a 4ft space in between them.

On the ground he could see some strawberry sprouts, he was excited and began planting in the two new plant beds. Yuna seemed to be able to handle the workload so he wasn't worried but the one that seemed to have the most trouble was Lily. The nature sprite would constantly be using magic on the seeds to make them grow and now that she had 3 plant beds full of seeds and sprouts she was going to have a hard time.

He went up to her and smiled "Lily how about getting a small sister?"

The small nature sprite jumped in the air and nodded nonstop. He went to his store and bought another nature sprite and she appeared beside Lily. Tyler waved his hand then pointed at her "Your name from now on will be Rose. Now Yuna, Lily, and Star tell your new sister what she has to do."

He went back to the animal room hallway and asked the skeleton guarding the empty room to follow him to the main hall. When they got there he sat next to the bear cub who was with his mother and began petting it with his left hand and used his right hand to look through the monster list.

One of his main fears was getting attacked by humans so what he needed was to train against humanoid monsters. This meant that fighting against skeletons was his best bet, he was now able to easily defend but now he was left with a choice. Would he use his SP for a higher level swordsman or get weaker skeletons that use other weapons.

He scanned the monster tab and made a mental list of his choices.

Zombie Swords Man

Cost: 250 SP

Level: 1

A revived warrior that will be loyal to its summoner. Can understand complex commands. It's the evolution of Skeleton Swordsman, it had better movability, health, strength and can use skills that it had when it was alive. Once it reaches level 10 it can evolve to Dark Knight Zombie which can heal itself for every injury it inflicts on an intruder and gains a demon companion.

Skeleton Archer

Cost: 50 SP

Level: 1

Dead warrior that will swear loyalty to its summoner. Can understand basic commands, it's one of the weaker species of Monsters but after leveling up to level 10 it can evolve into Zombie Archer. This will increase its accuracy, range, and power behind each of its arrows.

Skeleton Mage

Cost: 75 SP

Level: 1

Dead Mage that will be loyal to its summoner. When summoned a random element will be added, it depends on the element the mage possessed when it was alive. It's able to understand complex commands, It's one of the rarer types of skeletons that can be found. After leveling up to level 10 it can evolve into an Undead Mage improving the power of its spells. This also allows it's mana capacity to increase and for the mage to remember it's spells. Once it becomes an undead mage it will be granted the ability to talk due to its intelligence.

Skeleton Fighter

Cost: 50 SP

Level: 1

Dead warrior that is loyal to the one that it was summoned by. It understands basic commands that it is given. It's faster and stronger than most skeletons due to its combat style. After leveling up to level 10 it can evolve into Zombie Fighter allowing it's speed and strength to increase.

Skeleton Shieldsman

Cost: 50 SP

Level: 1

Dead warrior that has sworn to protect it's summoner. Can understand basic commands, this type of skeleton has the highest durability and becomes an unimaginable force when there are multiple working together. After leveling up to level 10 it can evolve into Zombie Shieldsman increasing its durability and strength.

Skeleton Assassin

Cost: 50 SP

Level: 1

Dead warrior that has sworn an oath to serve it's summoner. It can understand basic commands, it's one of the sneakiest skeletons but has lower durability than most. After leveling up to level 10 it can evolve into Zombie Assassin increasing it's stealth and allowing it to use skills like dark magic that it might have used when it was alive.

Tyler looked back at his options and whistled "Damn I have so many different classes to choose from hehe. Well I like the idea of fighting since I don't really have experience in hand combat. The assassin sounds cool as well, it might not be that useful but if plasma wrapped itself around it I'm sure that it'll be great."

That's what made him decide that he would trade a stronger swordsman for a knowledge of what it was to fight different weapon classes. "Might as well get another one so that I don't have to spend any more points later on".

He looked at the occupations that were left; Archer, Mage, Shieldsman. "Hmm Mage sounds cool but I don't feel like having to dodge any type of magic at the moment, the same goes for archers I don't feel confident that I can dodge arrows. At the moment I want something that I can fight against and also use so the one that fits the bill is the skeleton shield man."

Tyler nodded his head several times and purchased the skeleton Assassin, Fighter, and sheildman.

One by one they started appearing, the assassin and the shieldsman kneeled but the fighter simply gave a small bow. The assassin carried 2 daggers and wore a ripped black cloak, the fighter wore a white robe he had a pair of rusty gauntlets, and the shieldsman wore rusty armor and had a 4ft tall shield on his left hand and a spear on the right one.

Tyler looked at the three of them and scratched his head "Great now which one do I start with?"

In the end, he chose the fighter since he thought it was the safest choice. Emphasis on the THOUGHT as soon as he pointed at the skeleton and said the words "Fight Me" the skeleton went wild. It charged at him and punched him without breaks in between, the first one got him in the side and knocked the air out of his lungs.

The thing that saved him was that he tripped and fell back giving him a small gap between the hits "STOP!!". He laid on the cold stone floor gasping for air, after a few minutes he was ready to begin again and stood up. He rubbed his side and smiled bitterly "What the hell and here I thought that me being a demon who had recently ranked up to rank F would do better when faced with a skeleton".

He looked at Plasma and smiled "Hey Plasma if he goes wild again and hurts me a lot like last time stop him but don't destroy him okay."

The slime gave a little jiggle and got closer to him. Tyler nodded and pointed back at the skeleton fighter who had gone back to its spot next to the others. "Use a quarter of your speed and fight me."

The skeleton walked towards him and slowly began to throw punches and then kicks. In the end, the skeleton began using its knees and elbows as if he was an MMA fighter. After Tyler had seen the techniques of the skeleton and tried them over and over again he was satisfied and called it a day.

When he looked at the clock in his status bored he was amazed to see that it was already 9 pm. He double-checked to make sure but there was no doubt about it, he looked at the fighter skeleton in shock "Did I really enjoy fighting so much?"

He looked at the bear cub and mother and sighed "I don't think I should make Sky and Storm hunt at night. They have a good eyesight but that doesn't mean they have night vision."

Tyler shook his head and decided to buy 3 slices of pork and 3 bulks of strawberries and fed them, not forgetting about the owlet in his chest pocket. That's when he remembered the beating he got from the skeleton and began to break up in cold sweat. He petted the small "You were about to get killed today little guy, tomorrow brother Plasma will take care of you while I train."

He once again cuddled with the bear cub and went to sleep.
