I am a Genius

I am Khan, a High Orc. I was born in the village of the Spotted Wolf Clan, in the northern plains. I am the son of the High Orc Chieftain Kolar. Most orcs are born with an innate hunger for battle and blood. Few are destined for greatness, power, and wealth, most will die knowing only the fevered heat of battle. The fates chose a different path for me, and graced me with the <Genius> title--granting me increased intellect and strength--to surpass all orcs. However, in the moment of truth, during a Fire Bird Clan raid, I found that the one thing I did not possess was courage. I ran from battle, abandoning my weaker brother to selfishly save my own life. I am just a spoiled brat, and now I am going to die--or worse--at the hands of these

Fire Bird Clan bastards.

About an hour earlier, around a hundred and ten orcs were slowly patrolling the sleeping village. Off in the woods, a faint snap can be heard. As the Fire Bird Clan's Chieftain Flamock's finger meets his palm, his warriors charge towards the gates.

"ENEMY ATTACK!!" bellowed an orc wielding a two headed ax. He ran into battle against the other orcs only to be taken down in seconds by a combined attack from four other orc warriors, quickly stabbing him in the abdomen and neck.

"Arrghhh" orcs were fighting each other all round the village. The sun rose to reveal the full scale of the surprise attack; the Fire Birds outnumbered the Spotted Wolves ten to one.

"You Fire Bird Clan bastards! How dare you attack us, Flamock!" yelled the Chieftain of the Spotted Wolf Clan. "I'll kill you all!" a red aura spread over the Chieftain as he charged at the oncoming orcs. As he hacked and slashed his way through the first line of soldiers, the orc Chieftain of the Fire Bird Clan intercepted him, shoulder-bashing the Spotted Wolf Chieftain against the ground.

"You are weak, you can't protect your tribe, Mabrouk. Your people will starve this winter! Your Clan will not survive!" he barked, wielding his great sword high above his head.

Mabrouk yelled and charged "AAAAHH DIEEE, FLAMOCK!" When their swords collided, Flamock parried Mabrouk's sword; then with a quick slash, cleanly took off his head.

Khan woke up to screaming and the sound of metal against metal. He quickly rose up out of his bed and ran outside to see blood and fire everywhere. All around him orcs were locked in mortal combat, it did not take a general to see that his clan was quickly losing. Khan saw less than thirty allies left fighting against hundreds of enemies. He saw his father's headless corpse lying at the feet of a huge orc drenched in his father's blood. As the large orc turned, Khan saw that he held his father's severed head by the scalp, and had begun drinking his blood. Upon seeing this, Khan's knees buckled. He was only seven years old, just a year away from adulthood; but still he was just a boy. "Gulp." Khan swallowed the saliva stuck in his throat and decided his best chance was to run for the nearby treeline.

Seeing this, the huge orc quickly ordered one of his troops, "Quickly, go and capture the runaway orcs. We need all the slaves we can get. The rest of us will finish up here."

The rest of the Spotted Wolf Clan orcs heard this message and rushed towards their victims for one final clash.

Khan didn't make it far into the forest before the orc was close behind. "Kulkkulkul I've got you now boy!" said a fierce orc warrior trampling through the woods after an Khan.

"Huh huh huh." Khan was panting as he ran from his pursuers. He had been running for about an hour and was reaching his limit when he tripped on a twisted root, throwing his fast moving orc frame straight into the trunk of a nearby tree. Bracing himself with his head, Khan was knocked nearly unconscious.

"Kuhahaha, finally you put up a good chase but this is the end." As the orc approached. Khan closed his eyes and waited for his demise. "Thwack." The orc hit Khan on the head with the butt of his ax, knocking him out. He started to bind up Khan with ropes, "You will make a fine slave", the orc said while chuckling.

Once the orc returned to the Spotted Wolf village he threw Khan into a crowd of beaten and bruised orcs and returned to talk to his Chieftain.

"Chieftain I have captured the last runaway." The captor said, kneeling before a huge orc, his brow adorned with the skull of a wyvern.

"Good work, Gudok the shaman said that this would be a tough winter. So we need to store all of their food and collect extra slaves for farming." The Chieftain dismissed Gudok. 'This will be a rough winter. The other clans know it and are starting on the war path to secure their future. The Southern Clans are running into skirmishes with the damn Human Kingdoms.' The Chieftain thought while rubbing his beard. "OK LET'S ROUND THINGS UP! PUT THE SLAVES INTO THE CAGES! LOAD THE FOOD! LETS GO!" Yelled the Chieftain.

The orcs started rounding up their prey and putting them in large iron cages. The cages were then loaded onto carts pulled by gigantic lizards. Khan was tossed into a cage with the other orcs. An orc with one eye approached the Chieftain.

"Chieftain, we lost twenty warriors and twenty more were injured. We have acquired forty thousand pounds of food. Thirty four gold coins, four hundred and fifty seven silver coins and a multitude of bronze coins. We acquired seventy total slaves."

"Good, good. Less were killed then I expected. Well, let's head back. It is about a two day journey to return to the village." With this said, the Chieftain turned away from the burning village and started his trek back home with his subjects and bounty in tow
