Rise of the Dragon Emperor

Hello there! I'm the author and this is my second attempt at making a novel. I have put in a lot of effort to make this novel as good as possible so that you can enjoy the novel which I have written. There will be minor mistakes within the novel, but I have tried my best to make the reading experience as best as possible. If you notice any errors or things that you do not like I will try to improve the problem as soon as possible. I hope that you enjoy my novel and continue to read it. I look forward to seeing all your comments and being able to interact with all of you :) Druak was an aspiring mage who wished to gain vast amounts of knowledge and had an incredibly amount of curiosity. Fate, however didn’t allow him to follow the path which he wished to follow. After a failed experiment Druak was sent into a coma for many years and lost his best chance to learn anything about magic. After living for 27 years Druak tragically died after being pushed off a cliff by a figure which was cloaked in black. Druak had lived a miserable life, each person he ever cared for or got close die before his eyes. Even his best friend was brutally killed in front of his eyes and Druak was powerless to stop it. 100 years after Druaks death a battle that shook the entire continent took place between a Lich king and four minor kingdoms. This battle resulted in the death of the Lich King. And the death of this Lich King seemed to set something into motion. Traveling all the way back in time Druak was once again alive, this time inside his 17-year-old body. He was finally given a second chance however, unbenounced to him he wasn’t the only one who was given a second chance. The cover of this novel does not belong to me so if the original owner wishes for me to take it down please let me know and I will be sure to change it.

Stakin Forest

Before another fight happened Druak quickly grabbed the girl's arm, before it could be used to cast any spells.

"Can you wait a minute and let me talk." Druak said, as he slowly loosened his grip on the girl's arm.

After Druak released his grip on her arm she quickly slammed her fist down to her side and said."What the point of talking to someone that only knows how to make fun of people."

Druak was still confused as he didn't remember making fun of her, but for now he had to find a way to reconcile with her, as he knew he couldn't fight all those nobles alone.

Druak looked the girl straight in the eye and said."I'm sorry for whatever I did, I'm just trying to find someone to team up with and was wondering if you'd be interested."

Druak normally was quite cold and not incredibly social, but he knew if he wanted to stop the nobles he'd need more than just himself.

As the girl watched Druak she began to realise that she might have jumped to conclusions.

'I need someone to team up with and this guy doesn't seem too bad.'[She thought as she observed the magic Druak was releasing.

All mages constantly released mana from their body this lessened for stronger mages that had a higher mana control or higher class stage.

Despite being very short tempered and often holding grudges the girl knew that teaming up with Druak would be for the best, if she hoped to pass this test.

In an arrogant tone she finally responded to Druak."Fine we can team up, but you have to follow what i say in the test and after this test is over your back to being a nobody to me."

Druak simply nodded as he was now focusing on making a plan to get rid of the nobles and pass the test.

'I'm sure I'll find a way to make her useful. Her arrogance should make this easy.'Druak thought as a slight smile appeared on his face.

Druak had tried to get the girls name, saying it would make working together easier, but no matter how hard he tried she also responded with."What's the point of learning the name of someone that you're never gonna meet again."

It seemed that this girl had no plans on ever seeing Druak again after this test. Druak needed something to call her so he decided on ice girl, it was simple and since not many ice mages exist it would be easy to tell who he was talking to.

Not long after the two of them teamed up a young looking teacher introduced themself, explaining what the test would be and the rules of the test.

Druak had realised each of the tests had some kind of reason as to why they were done, the team fight judged how well you worked together, the illusion test weeded out the weak minded. So Druak knew this test would be no different.

'It looks like the nobles are already grouping up so it's probably a team based test again.'

It seemed the instructor of this test wasn't happy with his assignment as he constantly grumbled about being stuck with peasants.

"This is a test that we have put in because we need to get rid of you disgusting peasants. I know some of you think you are going to become a noble like me if you get good grades within this academy, but understand that only elite nobles should be allowed within this school so don't try to climb higher than what your pathetic status allows."

"He's talking more about statues than the actual test, can't he just get this over with." Druak murmured as his face scrunched up slightly in annoyance.

"They're all like this, what do you expect" The ice mage girl responded, it seemed she had begun to lose interest in the explanation and was now more focused on what was going on around her.

It took a while but Druak was finally able to get enough information on the test. It was nothing too complicated, all the applicants would be put inside the Stakin Forest, which was the forest nearest to the academy, and would hunt monsters within it for points.

Most of the monsters were 0th stage and 1st stage monsters so it wouldn't be too dangerous, if not for the rule that you are allowed to steal and attack other students, Druak knew this was the main point of the test.

The heart of the forest was out of bounds for this test as it had 3rd and fourth stage monsters within it, lucky they almost never left their territory.

Another rule that was put in place was that you were allowed to team up with whoever you want, however each person would have to have their own points and your team's points would only be given to the appointed leader.

The test would last for 5 hours, which would give plenty of time for the difference in applicants to show.

"Guess their using the nobles connections to get rid of all the commoners."Druak said' as he realised that it would be much easier for nobles to team up as they had much more connections and their statues as nobles influenced commoners to try to join their side.

Druak expected this so he didn't seem to bothered, the ie mage on the other hand was stomping her feet on the ground souting."Stupid nobles, cant even fight straight on. They're just cowards."

Druak had to listen to this through the entire journey to the forest. He completely agreed with what she said, he just would use actions instead of words.

"Guess it's time we head to the forest."Druak said, looking at the ice mage he had managed to team up with.

Both of them nodded at each other and the test had now begun.

'Finally a chance to get my revenge on those cowardly nobles.'Druak thought as he walked into the forest, trying to hide the maniacal smile on his face.
