My name is Edward Nell. I'm a Vampire slayer who just finished some putting some of the cretins skulking around the misty vales.

I caught him heading toward an exit which leads toward another area suspected to have vampires lurking in it. In other words, he was likely going from one vampire lair to another.

Vampires, while we don't know much about their inner workings, exchange information only by means of letters -No magic allowed. They do their best to lurk in the shadows and not get caught.

After checking him I found a letter on him confirming my thoughts. While I can't read blood rune, the language which they can speak from birth, I do recognize the symbol. Its of the Bloody Bathory clan, The most feared clan of Vampires before Chreno's great Holy judgement.
