Beginning Of The Chapters

In the continent of Isernia, from the southeast corner, a young girl can be seen running through the fields. She looked happy and cheerful. Why wouldn't she? After all, she finally came out from the Great Ban forest for the first time. 

After spending her whole life in the forest, her happiness appeared limitless. A real treasure for her brother. 

"Mary! Don't run off~. It is dangerous. Don't forget, it is your first time outside. Stay with me all the time."

"No~. I don't want it~. Brother is cruel and mean~*puff*"

This cute little angel is Mary. She lost her mother right after her birth 8 years ago. She was raised by her elder brother. She is very cute just like an angel. She has silver hair just like her mother. 

The light blue eyes matched her personality perfectly. That chubby cheeks while puffed added to her cuteness. She was wearing a long black shirt that reached her knees. 

She puffed her cheeks and showed opposition to Chris's decision. Chris is a 179cm tall big brother of Mary. He took care of Mary after the death of both his father and mother. At the young age of 10, he took the responsibility of raising his only sister.

He hunted down beasts, and trained and raised his sister through a lot of struggle. He had become the most hammered blade. The sharpest and finest of all. Now he came back to fulfil his promise to his father.

He was headed for the Kingdom of Shah. He is a tall boy who inherited the traits of his strong father. The black hair and black eyes proved it. With a manly body, manners and etiquette, he would be extremely popular among the girls. He was an extremely dedicated swordsman. He wore a green coat. (Actually a samurai kimono)

"Say, brother. Where are we going exactly?"

"We are going to the Kingdom of Shah for some business. After we reach there we will live very peacefully. So be a good~ girl~ and follow your brother okay. And no running around okay."

" 'kay, brother. I will not play around~."

"Promise me."

"Promise..... But brother *growl* I am HUNGRY!!!"

"Sigh, don't worry. I will get us something once we reach the capital. Please bear it okay."

"No~. I want food~. Food! Food! Food! FOOD!"

"Say, Mary, YOU WANT TO TEST YOUR BROTHER'S ENDURANCE? HUH?"

'Scary! I don't want to experience his anger again!' is what Mary thought. She had known well how angry her brother could get. Once he gets furious, he used to spill his anger on the beasts of the forest.

Even the nearby beasts cleared the surrounding of the cave they lived in. Chris had gotten rather emotionally attached to his sister and given up on other feelings. The fact that he can not be easily intimidated is the very proof. 

The gazes he gave forced even unintelligent and dumb beasts to think a thousand times before attacking him. He was no less than a monster himself. Getting used to bruises and wounds gave him extreme endurance.

The aura he gives up is in a different league of its own. This young man holds the pain, struggle and grudges of many people. It would be better if none of the people enlightens his anger.

Only God knows what would happen to that person. 

"Oh! That's right. I have some apples."

"Eh? Apples? Lame. I want meat. And Horned bear's meat at that."

Chris was deeply hurt when he heard what his sister said to him. He dropped to the ground and started regretting something. In a low voice, he said,

"Lame! I am lame. I am~ not a good brother. Sorry father. I think I will commit seppuku."

That's right. The really intelligent people reading this would understand. He is DUMB. He acts like an idiot even in small things. This may be the price for strength. 

But it is not the same every time. He sometimes acts cool and rational. It is as if he acts all dumb and lame in front of others. He is intelligent enough to fight a person one on one and win. Even though he doesn't know the opponent's abilities and strength.

He just analyses those factors while fighting. It looks like he knows the ability of everyone.

"Mary, get on my back. I will take us to the capital in just a few minutes."

The capital was 173 km to the northwest This distance, in just a few minutes?!. Exactly, he can run at a marvellous, breathtaking and unnoticeable speed. Almost as fast as the speed of sound.

I referred to the word unnoticeable because it is truly unnoticeable. The human eyes can not easily track that speed. It is like walking down the street in a chill mood and before you know it a guy just ran by you at a speed that you can't even notice him coming.

Chris carried his sister and put her on his back. He wrapped her with a piece of cloth and tightened the knot. He took out an apple from his green coat and gave it to Mary. 

He slowly advanced towards the capital. He wanted Mary to sleep before he starts running. Slowly, in just a few minutes Mary started snoring. Chris put Mary down and knotted her in the front of his chest with the same cloth.

That way she would be safe from the extreme winds. The large Ban field that was outside the Ban forest was a large circular grassland. It belonged to the Shah Kingdom and was used for farming.

Chris started his run after ensuring Mary's safety. He could run by making as little sound as possible. He ran and ran until he saw a large wall.

He reached the border of the capital city of the Ban Kingdom. The city known as the most populated city in the Ghoral Peninsula was large. 

With an astounding population of 1.2 million, it gained its name. Its real name is Pithiver city named after the founding King of the Shah Kingdom, Pithiver Shah. It means strong and beautiful.

The city is circular with a radius of about 20km. The walls protecting the city are 18 meters tall and 2 meters thick. It is very difficult to comprehend the fact of how was the wall built.

It covers the entire city. There is only one gate for entrance and exit. The wall seemed pretty worn out from battles. 

The city lies on a flat surface. It is divided into three circles with a common centre as the castle of the King. The outermost region was full of slums. Only poor people lived here.

The smell and the living surrounding area were unpleasant. The outer city is separated by a wall from the middle city. A relatively small wall with the sole purpose of slowing down the invaders.

The middle city was mainly for markets and merchants. The people here were rich and powerful. The outer city citizens were not even allowed to look at the middle city.

And finally, the central city. It is also separated by a wall from the middle city. Only Nobles live here. The special permission of either the King, Queen or a Noble is necessary to enter the City. 

There was discrimination all over the city. It was not what a capital city should look like. 

Chris entered through the sole entrance gate. Everyone was allowed to enter the city through a series of inspections at the gate. 

Chris was holding a sword and Mary. The guards were suspicious of him as a kidnapper. But he showed them the hide of the Horned Bear. He told them that he wanted to be a merchant and was trying to sell the hide.

"That was a close call. Sigh, now I have to find him no matter what."

Chris went to the slum market at the border of the middle city gate. He sold the hide for 100 gold coins. Even though he killed the Horned Bear easily, it was very difficult for others.

The hide of the Horned Bear was sturdy. So it was widely used to make armour and strong clothes for the Nobles. 

'One hide sold for 100 gold coins! Hahaha.'

A wicked smile appeared on his face. The shopkeeper got scared. After coming back to his senses, he went to a nearby store and bought clothes that looked normal. He woke Mary up and bought her new clothes as well.
