"Wh-what?" Kia blinked, quickly caught off guard by Don's sudden presence. As soon as he realized who it was, his gaze softened a little. "Oh..." he muttered, unable to find the right words. The situation he had witnessed was awkward, so how could he now speak to Don as casually as before?
"Why are you looking at me like you've seen a ghost? If you're still worried about what Logan might do to you..." Don paused and cleared his throat, this time speaking in a clearer tone. "You don't have to worry about Logan killing you just yet. As long as he doesn't see you as a threat, you'll be fine. Just don't get bitten. But know that he'll still have his eyes on you, watching your every move." He smiled, as if that would make Kia feel any better, then patted Kia's back, guiding him so his back was turned to Logan.
