Hiro spent the night at Loki's house. The house was lively, and Hiro constantly argued with Jasmine, who began to tease him nonstop. After waking up, Hiro decided to spend the rest of the day training his powers. It didn't take him three hours, and he could already turn himself into a light, which allowed him to move at superspeeds.
"Loki!" He yelled as he ran into Loki's room. Loki was sitting in bed reading a book. "Loki, look!" he shouted in excitement and suddenly vanished.
"Huh?" Loki was confused for a moment before Hiro appeared behind him.
"Hey, dude."
"HUH?!" Loki jumped and almost fell out of bed. "HIRO?! You startled me!!"
"Sorry! I got used to my powers!" Hiro explained. "I can move at superspeed now! And even turn me invisible!"
"That's amazing!" Loki stood up and hugged Hiro. "Congratulations!"
"Thanks, man." Hiro returned the hug and sat next to him on the bed. "But don't tell Jasmine, okay?"
"Why?" Loki questioned.
"I have my own reasons, hehe!"
Hiro smiled and jumped off the bed.
"Where are you going?" Loki questioned.
"To check something out." Hiro ran downstairs to see Jasmine and Sam talking to each other, not noticing him.
"Good morning," Hiro greeted and disappeared before they could answer.
As soon as his body reappeared, it was right before Jasmine. "Boo!" She dropped her cup of coffee, which splashed everywhere.
"Ah, shit..." Sam quickly grabbed napkins to clean up the mess.
"Whoops," Hiro giggled and ran away. "See ya later!"
The door slammed shut, and Hiro started running as fast as he could, and soon, he was on the other side of the world. It was an empty desert, and Hiro wondered what was going on. He knew there was supposed to be a city; however, no matter where he ran, he couldn't find anything except all types of monsters. As he ran further, he saw many ruins of the cities and civilisations that these monsters had wiped out,
"This is strange," Hiro exclaimed as he ran all over the world, and the only city in existence was his home.
Nothing made any sense, as the news constantly showed different cities and significant events they held. However, he had never left the city before, so how was it happening? Suddenly, Hiro heard some people who were fighting against some monster near a mountain. He couldn't believe his ears, so he quickly ran towards the fight, wanting to get some explanations. What he saw shocked him, and he stopped in horror when he saw a group of people being eaten by one of the monsters.
"NO!!!" Hiro screamed in anger and dashed forward.
He started moving as fast as he could, and when he came in contact with the monster, it exploded because of the massive force Hiro's punch produced. He looked around wonderfully but could only see terrified civilians staring at him.
"HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING?!"
Hiro turned and saw an enormous creature, its size compared to the size of a building. It stared down at him, showing off its sharp teeth, making everyone run farther away until nothing was left but Hiro and the beast.
"They left me..." Hiro exclaimed, "They left me?" He repeated in question form. But then, he saw the creature open his mouth and start sucking everything into his maw. Hiro backed away slowly and watched in shock as the creature swallowed everything. Then, without warning, the creature began to charge at him.
"Fuck off!" Hiro yelled and began running toward the creature at the speed of light. The creature stood still as time seemed to be stopped, and Hiro passed through the monster as if he were a bullet. In a few more seconds, the creature fell to the ground with green liquid coming out of its mouth and its wound.
"What the fuck was that?" Hiro asked himself as he stared at the creature's corpse and began running around searching for humans. When Hiro found a small group of people, he saved them near the cave and approached them cautiously.
"Is everyone alright?" he questioned quietly. No response.
He continued speaking louder. "Please respond..."
Eventually, he saw an older man stand up with difficulty and walk toward Hiro. "Are you... the god?"
"Huh?!" He looked confusedly at the man. "What are you saying?" But then he noticed everyone was on their knees and bows. They were looking at him, waiting for orders. Some of them were quietly praying.
"What is going on?" Hiro asked.
The elderly man looked at Hiro, eyes filled with grief and sadness. "Dear god! Help us!"
"I am not a god..." Hiro felt like he was drowning. He wasn't used to feeling this way. This isn't what he wanted. But realised his words were not reaching the people.
"Can you save us?" one asked.
Hiro looked at their distressed faces and decided to at least listen to them.
"What is going on here," Hiro asked the old man. "Explain the situation."
"Yes..." The old man nodded and replied sadly. "My name is Merz; I am the leader of the tribe..." he paused, and Hiro frowned in annoyance.
"Continue", Hiro demanded.
"The human civilisation was almost wiped out 500 years ago by the monsters that suddenly appeared out of nowhere," Merz continued. "
Whoever managed to hide well was able to survive. But monsters continue to hunt humans down," Merz paused again for a moment and added. "Then gods emerged, people who could fly, lift things with their minds, heal others with their magic, and create miracles."
"Wait, what?" Hiro questioned. "Gods?" He looked at the people surrounding them. "Do you mean espers?"
Merz just shrugged and continued the story. "After wiping out most of the monsters, gods disappeared, and the remaining monsters continue.
to terrorise this land."
"Wow..." Hiro said in awe. So, people without power exist in this world. "And I thought creating illusions was unfortunate power..."
He began to think about his city and realised it was probably made by the same espers who saved humanity ages ago but abandoned it. He had many questions, but as he looked at these unfortunate people, he realised he wouldn't get answers. But then again... he looked at the hopeful eyes of the children in the back... can Hiro leave them?
Hey guys, a quick reminder to vote for the novel. Please give me your power stones. It would help me out! Thank you! Also, I started another novel, "Accidentally reincarnated as a dragon lord". If you like villainous heroes, give it a try!
