The Final Boss

Everyone that was with me gathered together. After healing their wounds, I checked in on everyone.

'Status report. Team B, do you copy? Anne, are you safe?' I sent a message.

'Thanks to the illusion breaking, I was able to save Anne,' Yang Li spoke. 'We are resuming our mission.'

'Good. Team C, do you copy?'

'Yeah, we're here' Rowan sounded bored.

'What happened, Smarus!?' Lily's voice screamed in my head. 'We lost connection with you for about 30 minutes!!!'

It had only been 30 minutes? Either the illusion messed with our time perception, or I was bored from only walking for most of the time. I sighed.

'I apologize Lily. Something unexpected happened that broke the connection. I will explain it later,' I told her.

'O-okay… Don't disappear again though,' Lily pouted.

'No promises,' I sighed.

When I looked up, Aurora, Bodil, Luna, and Myra were all smiling at me. I tried to ignore them, but it felt too uncomfortable.
