In the spring of 1692, Lizzie burned at the stake. Reincarnated in the 21st century, she finds herself riding a pick-up truck off to a music festival with the reincarnation of the girls that burned with her. And the driver? William, the lover that left her without an explanation. William’s charm in this lifetime is as irresistible as it used to be and she can't deny the longing she feels. To find peace and happiness, she was tasked by a quirky deity to avenge herself and the other ‘witches’ from the people that wronged them. But how was she going to find out who were the ones that wronged the other girls? In her quest for justice, Lizzie will discover the best (and worst) of both worlds of the colonial era and the 21st century as she goes back and forth into her dreams, visions, and reality. Will she succeed with her revenge and find happiness too? ========== DRAMATIC EXCERPT: "Lizzie, please don't forget that I love you." Will said as he clutched his shirt near his chest. "I never stopped loving you Elizabeth Ainsworth." He took a step forward to reach out for me and I shielded myself with my hands. "Don't come near me, you filthy bastard!" I screamed at him, enraged with his lies. I closed my eyes as I stepped backwards and held back my tears. "You did nothing to defend me from your father!" "No Lizzie, I did what I could. I -" his voice faded and I was left in the parking lot, dazed and my arms crossed as if to shield myself from his advance. When I blinked, William vanished and Bash came back into sight. He gave me a questioning look and asked, "Ummm.. What are you doing Lizzie?" My eyes darted from Bash's head to toe and he gave a nervous laugh at my reaction. I breathed short and heavy gasps and my sweat went cold. "You look like you've seen a ghost." He said. ========= UPDATES INDEFINITE Coverphoto grabbed from pinterest, it will be taken down should the owner request to. Upbeat music escaped into the hall like a beast's roar. Colorful lights danced on the walls and inside the room number six one one two, an ash blonde guy welcomed the boys.
He was more than six feet tall and probably about a couple of inches taller than Zeke. He was barely the same height as Levi and they hugged each other excitedly like brothers.
The man named Nico strutted and greeted the girls with a can of beer in his right hand. Even when he was protected inside a huge and thick building, Nico had worn a round pair of black glasses that hanged at the tip of his nose. He also had quite a few ear piercings on each earlobe too.
He was every inch of the quirky man that I had expected him to be as he swung his free arm around Ali and then to Becky. He was probably drunk by the way he lolled his head but he was keen enough to notice Suzy as a new face.
Suzy giggled at Nico's antics as he blew her a kiss and winked at her.
"Well hello to you, have we met before?"
It was a bit sudden but Nico suddenly just came up in front of me. His face was a few inches away, just a breath of a distance. He swooped down and grabbed my hand for a loud peck and spoke to me,
"You really look familiar, like perhaps I have dreamed of you as my future wife."
I felt my cheeks burned and if I knew better I had already turned bright pink of embarrassment.
This guy had a sweet-tongue to him that flashed red danger signs all over his head. I withdrew my hand from him and tucked it at my back. I was about to speak when Nico suddenly beamed and called out,
"SEBASTIAN MAH MAN!" he jumped at Bash and spilled a few drops of his drink on the marble floor.
"Nico you idiot, stop acting like a kid. You are the oldest one here goddammit, show yourself some respect!" Bash chided Nico, to which the guy pouted at his friend.
"Who is this pretty lady my dear friend? You never mentioned you would bring such an exquisite beauty to Coachella. Is she your girlfriend?" Nico asked as he pointed at me with long pianist's finger with a carefully manicured nail.
Bash shook his head and answered Nico with a slight grin on his face. "This is Becky's older sister. Her name is Elizabeth. Lizzie for short."
The edges of Nico's mouth raised into a devilishly handsome smirk. His gray eyes a dangerous pool to drown in. He looked at me and spoke, "You didn't answer if she is your girl, Sebby. Tell me, is she or is she not?"
Nico stood into his full height and straightened his polo's collar. He had his hand in front of him and slowly drank from his can of beer. "Because if she isn't, you wouldn't mind if I make her mine, right?"
My jaw dropped at his proposal.
Wait, was it even a proposal of some sorts? He wasn't actually asking me. His eyes stared at me intensely and I couldn't help myself feeling self-conscious.
Bash's playful grin was wiped away by Nico's words and his brows furrowed like he wanted to say something. It was only a few seconds but I could sense the intensity of his contemplation.
Suddenly, a woman's voice shrieked amidst the loud blasts of music inside the club.
"Oh my gosh! It's him! Sebastian Davis!!!"
My head whipped at the direction the voice came from and I saw a bunch of other girls who wore nearly nothing but their birthday suit. Are undergarments supposed to be worn in public now?
The girls ran towards Sebastian and shrieked and jumped in excitement. Some flashed out their phones and took pictures while others were busy gushing about how they knew Bash or asked him personal questions.
"I saw you in Youtube, you are so damn hot in the vid but all the more in personal."
"Hey, do you have a girlfriend already? Would you like to dance with me tonight?"
"Oh my gosh! You are such a babe!"
"Caroline you idiot, you are so embarrassing!"
As the girls flocked Sebastian, Nico dodged them and strode his long legs towards me. He swung a free hand to nudge me inside and I flinched at his sudden movement. He didn't exactly touch me but his hand almost did.
He noticed my apprehension and he gave me a warm smile which was the complete opposite of what he showed a while ago.
"After you beautiful Elizabeth." He bowed gracefully despite his tipsy state.
Levi and Zeke chuckled at the back and the girls practically dragged me inside the club.
When I stepped inside the room, my eyes strained to adjust as disco lights glittered and spotlights danced in every direction. The club was spacious and a lot of mostly young people were on the dance floor or at the mini bar sipping alcoholic drinks.
"This way ladies and gents, if you would be so kind as to indulge me with your attention. I have prepared a small corner for all of you." Nico said as he guided us through the crowds.
Becky and Ali had both their arms locked to mine and I was kind of confused at first as to why.
Suzy was behind with Zeke and Levi and their eyes were wary. Suddenly, I realized they had probably been keeping an eye on me because of my previous predicament with drunk men. It was just a hunch, but my heart welled up with gratitude.
I swore I will avenge these girls for the injustice they received back in Shalem. Despite Becky's infatuated love and Suzy's frustrated flirtation and Ali - well I still have not much idea about her - I knew that I need to give them what they deserve.
Swimming through an ocean of crowded humans, we arrived into a little corner where a round table and a similarly C-shaped bloody red sofa was. Everybody took a seat with me at the center and Nico beside me.
"We left Bash behind." I said as I felt the comfortable foam cushion of the sofa.
"Nah, he'll be fine. I did tell you Bash is dubbed as the lady-killer. He lives up to his reputation unintentionally. He just too good and can't say no to women." Levi laughed.
