Paramour

In the dimly lit interior of the car, Kento briefed the team, his calm demeanor belying the tension of the upcoming mission. Jane and Constantine listened intently as he outlined their target.

"Our mission is to assassinate Lilith Darkwood," Kento began, his voice steady. "She's a powerful witch and will be attending an exclusive function at the Paramour Hotel tonight. She'll have two associates with her; our job is to eliminate all three."

Constantine frowned, a sense of déjà vu washing over him. "Why these three specifically?"

Kento's eyes met Constantine's, his gaze sharp. "Lilith is a significant player in the council. Also, the werewolf you killed in Morgana's lair? That was her cousin. So, she might have a personal vendetta against you. I suggest you keep your guard up."

Constantine nodded, absorbing the information. "Great, more family drama," he muttered under his breath, his tone laced with sarcasm.

Darryl, sitting in the front seat, turned to look back at them. "You seem to have a knack for stirring up trouble, kid. Just make sure this doesn't turn into another bloodbath."

Jane smirked, nudging Constantine. "That's what being a hothead gets you."

"Takes one to know one, chibi." Constantine replied, earning himself a smack from Jane.

"Again, cut it out!" Kento said sternly. "This isn't a game. If we fail, either we die or you end up as lab rats – focus." he said sharply.

"Ken is right, both of you need to lock in." Darryl agreed.

Kento pulled out a small, intricately designed tool from his pocket - a rune stylus. He held it up, explaining its purpose. "I'm going to engrave two runes on you both. The first is a Rune of Concealment. It will disable your powers but also make you undetectable by any magical or supernatural means. The second is a Rune of Illusion, which will alter your appearance to anyone who sees you."

He turned to Constantine first, the stylus glowing faintly as he began to inscribe the runes onto his skin. "Runes are weaker versions of our techniques, engraved through liquefying aether crystals. It's a rare resource that only Outcasts have access to."

As the stylus touched Constantine's skin, a cool sensation spread across the inscribed area. The runes glowed briefly before settling into a subtle shimmer. "This will help us blend in," Kento said, moving on to Jane and repeating the process.

Jane watched with fascination as the runes were engraved on her. "So, we're going in undercover. What's the plan once we're inside?"

Kento finished the last rune and put away the stylus. "We need to get close enough to take them out without drawing attention. It sounds simpler than it really is though." he warned them.

Constantine flexed his fingers, feeling the odd absence of his powers. "Got it. Let's hope this goes smoothly."

Darryl chimed in again, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "And let's hope we don't end up with another "incident" on our hands."

Kento gave a final nod, his expression resolute. "Remember, this isn't just about taking down Lilith. We need to ensure her associates don't escape. Stay sharp."

With that, the team steeled themselves for the mission ahead, the car speeding through the night towards the Paramour Hotel.

As the car pulled up to a secluded spot near the Paramour Hotel, its engine humming softly as the team prepared for the next step, Constantine and Jane stirred uncomfortably. The building loomed ahead, lights twinkling in the night, a beacon of illicit gatherings.

Kento turned to face the team, his expression serious. "Here's the plan. The Paramour Hotel hosts a monthly function where members of the Unveiled community can mingle in the human world. This is strictly forbidden, but it's a known haunt for those who wish to indulge in forbidden pleasures. Lilith frequents these functions to procure lovers, and she'll be here tonight with her two bodyguards."

Jane raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Who are these bodyguards?"

Kento continued, "According to Morgana's intel, their names are Adrian Crowe and Sebastian Wolfe. Adrian is a sorcerer with a strong Patron. Sebastian is an incubus – extremely dangerous. He can seduce people, control their minds, and rob them of their vitality.

Constantine shifted uncomfortably, glancing at the hotel. "So, we have to seduce our way to them? That's... not really my thing, especially after... well, Vicky."

Jane's face flushed bright red, her awkwardness palpable. "I've got zero experience with this kind of stuff. This is going to be a disaster."

Darryl, who had been silent, chuckled. "Well, think of it as a new skill set. You might even enjoy it."

Kento nodded, his face remaining neutral. "I'll be there as well. I'll be approaching Sebastian. Constantine, you'll go for Lilith, and Jane, you'll handle Adrian."

Constantine was momentarily flabbergasted. "Kento, are you- "he tried to say but Darryl interrupted him.

"What he is, is a pro. He can adapt to any situation, unlike you and Jane. Unless you wanna trade places with him, shut up."

"Normally I'd go after Lilith, since she's the primary target, but none of you are equipped to deal with an incubus – or succubus." Kento said. "Even after you reactivate your powers, your skillsets won't do anything against someone like Sebastian – mind games are my domain. And, this goes without saying, you will only be touching the targets to kill them once you lure them in. Anything else and I'll beat you within an inch of your lives." he said coldly.

"O-of course we won't touch them! That's gross!" Jane exclaimed, blushing again.

"The only touching I wanna do is killing, so don't worry about that." Constantine replied with a dangerous glint in his eye.

"Keep your head on straight or this will end up being a disaster." Darryl warned him.

Constantine sighed, straightening his jacket. "Alright, let's get this over with."

Jane looked at Kento, her discomfort evident. "And you're sure we can pull this off?"

Kento's cool demeanor didn't falter. "We need to blend in and get close to our targets without raising suspicion. Once we're close enough, we will lure them to private rooms. Then, we swiftly end them. Remember, Adrian and Sebastian are there to protect Lilith, so they won't be far from her side."

Constantine nodded, determination settling in. "Got it."

They exited the car, adjusting their attire and mental state for the task ahead. As they approached the entrance of the Paramour Hotel, Kento's voice was a steady anchor amidst the anticipation.

"Stay focused. We go in, make contact, and execute the plan. No mistakes."

With a final nod, they stepped into the hotel, the hum of mingling guests and the soft strains of music welcoming them into the heart of the Unveiled community's forbidden gathering.

As they approached the hotel entrance, they activated their runes, feeling a slight tingle as the aether took effect. The runes would alter their appearances to blend seamlessly into the upscale gathering. Using the invites they had procured from Morgana's lair, they entered the Paramour Hotel, blending in with the other elegantly dressed guests.

The hotel's opulent interior was a symphony of crystal chandeliers, polished marble floors, and lavish decorations. Soft classical music played in the background, and the air was filled with the low hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses.

As they scanned the room, they spotted their targets entering through the grand doors.

Lilith Darkwood was the epitome of allure and danger. Her long, purple hair cascaded down her back in waves, and her eyes, a striking shade of hazel brown, seemed to pierce through anyone who dared to meet her gaze. She wore a form-fitting, blood-red dress that highlighted her hourglass figure, moving with a grace that drew every eye in the room. Her aura was one of commanding presence, a mix of deadly beauty and raw power.

Adrian Crowe, the sorcerer, was a striking figure in his tailored black suit. His skin was pale, almost ghostly, and his eyes were a deep, penetrating blue. His slicked-back dark hair added to his sharp, almost predatory appearance. There was an air of menace about him, his movements calculated and deliberate.

Sebastian Wolfe, the incubus, was the very definition of seductive charm. His tall, athletic frame was adorned in a stylish charcoal gray suit that hugged his body perfectly. His eyes were a mesmerizing shade of purple, and his smile was both inviting and dangerous. His presence exuded confidence and charisma, a natural magnetism that made him the center of attention.

Constantine felt a surge of anger and hatred seeing Lilith, the memory of his past trauma flashing in his mind. His hands clenched into fists, and his eyes glowed faintly red with suppressed rage – a feat almost impossible considering he had a Rune of Concealment active.

Sensing the impending disaster, Kento placed a calming hand on his shoulder. "Constantine, focus," he said, his voice steady and reassuring. "We're here for a mission. Don't let your emotions get the better of you. Use that anger to fuel your resolve, but don't let it control you."

Constantine took a deep breath, forcing himself to relax. Kento's words anchored him, helping him regain his composure. He twisted Shift's ring on his finger. "You're right. Thanks, Ken."

Kento gave a small nod, his cool demeanor unwavering. "You've got this. Remember the plan."

With their targets now in sight and their resolve strengthened, they each moved towards their respective marks, blending into the crowd with practiced ease. The night was just beginning, and they had a mission to complete.

Constantine, now composed but still burning with a quiet fury, made his way towards Lilith, his steps deliberate and confident. Jane, despite her earlier nervousness, straightened her back and approached Adrian, her mind focused on the task at hand. Kento, as always, moved with calculated precision, heading towards Sebastian with a determined glint in his eyes. The hunt had begun.
