She said that her heart was not settled with it so it meant that he could not go anywhere yet.

And staying was dangerous for Elisha, the truth was that if he stayed for a few more days more and still stood his ground, it would be terrible.

He explained to her what bad it would do to them, not only would they have to die, but Ella would as well.

Maybe the reason she was all pushy was because he was going to leave that night and he really had no choice than to.

His twin brother was on his way already and they would be going together as soon as it was dark enough.

Now he had no choice than to explain all that was going on to Ella in a way that is compromising.

He would have done it the way they loved to talk to each other, that way she would believe him and her heart would be at rest.

But with the way her mother was already feeling, there was no way she would be able to believe that he was actually going to be fine.

Elisha saw tears well up in Ella's eyes just like her mother's when he told her everything that was going on.

She just hugged him tightly first and he knew that this was her own way of letting God no matter how she felt.

At least she was a little more understanding than her mother so it made everything actually simpler for him to cope with.

He decided to seize this opportunity to make their parting memorable and even less painful.

Elisha would not lie and say he was not feeling way worse and terrible than even either of them.

Who would not?

He had the best family and he was so much in love with his wife.

He did not even know how he would be able to stay without her for so long.

Thinking about what to and not to do when she was not there would be so hard.

Lisa was a strong support system and one everyone cherished wholeheartedly.

He knew he could leave the pack house in her care anytime any time and anyday because she was strong enough to defend them.

Not only is she strong, she is very powerful and wise and one of the greatest leaders he has ever seen.

He knew she would come around, he had to make her do it before he left so he rushed inside.

When he came out, he came with bigger jackets to protect them from the cold because he could see Ella shaking.

Lisa on the other hand was very cold as well but she tried as much as possible to hide the way she was feeling.

She could not be weak now that he was leaving so he would not go but she was almost freezing.

Lisa remembered how he told her he had to go and it brought fresh hot tears to her face again.

This is definitely one experience neither of them would be able to forget and their anniversary night just turned sour.

What all of them did not know was that there were still more bad things to happen to them that night.

At the end, they all had their what ifs but nothing could change since the deed has been done already.

They were cuddling in the room and she had just gone outside to check if Ella was still playing in the snow.

All of a sudden his face became sullen and she knew that something bad had happened but he did not know how to say it.

Actually, she thought it was her sick mother that was now confirmed dead and she just decided to brace herself up for the worse.

So, she said "Elisha, what happened?"

"Nothing" he first said, trying to look away.

Then she knew that something worse than her mother's death happened, because they both agreed that he would say it immediately when he got to know about it.

She was old already and it was expected for her to die anytime soon so Lisa would not be so hurt.

"Elisha, is my mother dead?"

"No! Of course not! She is not dead"

"Then what is the problem?"

"Not…"

"Ohhhh cut that crap, don't tell me nothing when I know something is wrong"

"I'm sorry, baby"

"Why are you sorry? What really happened, Lisha?"

She hardly called him that and he knew then that her heart was already pumping.

He knew right from time that breaking such a news to her would be too hard to do and it was even sudden again.

"Be calm, Lisa, I would tell you."

"Tell me already"

"Sit down", he pointed at the space beside him for her, like she did not know it was there before.

She just sat and gave him the eyes she always made when she knew something bad was going to happen.

"Callisa"

"Elisha"

"I love you"

"Wait, is that what you want to tell me?" She knew her husband could be so funny at times and pull her legs every now and then.

But he was careful on when to and when not to do it and this was definitely not one of the times for such.

Although it was their anniversary and a very special day to them, she felt it was going to get ruined soon.

Early in the morning, he woke her up in a classic way, made her bathe with so many flowers and ensured that she felt like the Queen she was.

Ella, her beautiful daughter, also worked so hard to make the day a memorable one for all of them.

She had kissed her a couple of times to tell her thank you and how they really made the day feel like it was for her only.

Their anniversary date is also the same day they met each other so it was something they never skipped as part of their celebrations.
