The incident

"Shirou wake up You'll be late!" The faint sound of footsteps moved away from my door "Well that was a good nap, I better get ready for school before I get another late mark" I got out of bed and started to make my way to the bathroom.

On my way I got a towel from the cupboard once I reached the bathroom I wrapped it around the towel hook.

I shut the door behind me making sure to lock it.

I made my way to my shower to turn it on but it always took a while to heat up so I had a good bit of time on my hands.

Turning around I looked at the mirror above the sink let's say I didn't look my best I had messy black hair and a bit of rough stubble.

I opened the drawer under the sink and grabbed my razor I only needed a small touch-up as my stubble wasn't that bad.

After ridding my face of the last of my stubble I noticed the steam coming off the shower " Wow it didn't take that long guess it's my lucky day, hmm maybe I should buy myself a lottery ticket".

I opened the shower door and quickly got in, I could feel the water searing my skin turning it from a pale white to a light red it was always a grim reminder to turn the heat down before getting in.

I opened the shower door and the steam poured out then I grabbed the towel off of the towel hook

And dried off once I was done, I placed my towel over the edge of the shower door.

I turned on my tap and quickly ran my toothbrush under the water, Then I grabbed my toothpaste and layered it on my toothbrush and I started to brush my teeth, I could never stand the texture of toothpaste in my mouth.

After brushing my teeth I then cupped some water in my hands and washed my mouth out.

After I grabbed some mouthwash and took the cap off, I poured it into the lid to the first line, and then I put it in my mouth and swished it in my mouth for 30 seconds before spitting it out.

I rinsed my mouth then I turn the tap off, Then I grabbed my towel off of the shower door and wrapped it around my waist.

I unlocked the bathroom door and walked over to my room securing the towel to my waist and making sure it doesn't fall.

I opened my bedroom door and then turned on my light closing the door behind me.

Then I went over to my hair dryer and picked it up from its box, I usually kept it in a box out of the way since my room was pretty small, I turned it on and started drying my hair, my hair dried pretty quickly so it was always good for me at least.

I turned off my hair dryer making sure not to burn myself this time and then placed it carefully back into its box.

I walked over to my drawer and grabbed a fresh pair of boxers, I took off the towel and placed it on my chair, then put the boxers on, grabbed my school clothes from my wardrobe, and started getting dressed.

I looked at my jacket and hoodie and I paused and thought to myself "It's gonna be hot today", Then I just thought "Fuck it" I put on my hoodie and jacket and then walked over to my earrings One was a cross the other was a sleeper with a spike hanging off of it started to head to the kitchen.

"Good morning Shirou if you were asleep any longer I would have had to kick down the door" my mum laughed "Thanks for waking me up mum so what's on the menu today" she quickly replied "Egg sausages bacon and toast" she got up and started preparing breakfast "Alright while you do that I'll get this hair tamed"

I go back to my room and I start styling my hair since it's just a black mess that covers my eyes and I still haven't decided if I should cut it or not. It always took a while to style my hair since I was tall 6"2 and lazy, so it took about 10 minutes.

"SHIROU YOUR BREAKFAST WILL GET COLD!" my mum shouted "Alright alright thanks mum", I went to the kitchen and sat at the table and started digging in "So how is it?" mum asked "Its as good as always," I said whilst still chewing the food, "Shirou don't talk with your mouth full but, Thank you", "Hey mum what time is it?" I asked not wanting to be late "It's 7:57". "Ok I'll put my shoes on and head over to school" I got up and started going towards my room to grab my half-torn black shoes "Alright mum see you soon"

I grabbed my bag and went outside to drag my bike up to my gate, it was always pretty annoying to grab it because it was a tight squeeze to bring t up to the gate because my mum has a chunky bike to get to and from work because her legs didn't work as well as they used to, after unlocking the gate I dragged my bike outside onto the road and closed the gate behind me, and then I hopped on my bike and bombed it down my hill 'did I forget to tighten my brakes yesterday" I thought to myself 'well to late now I held down my back brake while I approached the turn on the way 'the brake is tight enough, for now, I managed to make it to school unscathed

I locked up my bike and then headed to my tutor's room for a nap. 30 minutes or so passed then everyone starts to pour in.

And the person who's always last Jack, me and him became friends in primary school and we just kinda stuck together I couldn't get rid of him either, "Dude I'll never get how you can wear a hoodie and a jacket in summer" said jack "Hey bro you know me I don't feel the heat or the cold that much" we both just laughed "No no poker today Shirou", "Nah couldn't fit it in my bag plus we would only have enough time for one game".

"Yeah true", "So how late do you think Mrs vermilion will be", Mrs vermilion walks through the door, "Well damn right on time," Jack said while laughing, "Hey Shirou is that a new girl?", "Yeah seems to be. Wait a minute Rin?", Rin was someone I met at a party outside of town not too long ago. Rin had beautiful long black hair Nice eyes and a pretty smile and was quite short with her being 5"6 though I guess that was compared to me it was quite unfair with me being 6"2.

"Well seems you two already know each other" miss vermilion said, "So Shirou do you mind showing Rin around the school after assembly, "Mrs. Vermilion asked, "Yeah can do" I replied in my half-awakened state "Hey Shirou how do you know Rin?" Jack asked "Well we met at a party not too long ago around a month ago outside of town I got her number before I left"

"Shirou, Jack be quiet, So everyone this is Rin Hinode she is a new student who will be joining us" Mrs Vermilion announced to the class of half-dead teens

"Feel free to choose where to sit," said Mrs vermilion, Rin grabbed a chair and sat next to me for the rest of the tutor.

Rin smiled at me and said "Hey Shirou"

"Hey, how come you moved here?", "My mum had to move here because of work purposes so I suggested your school because I wanted to see you since I was moving near to your school ", "That's cute,", "Get a room you two" Jack mumbled under his breath "screw you dude", Rin got flustered.

Mrs Vermilion made us do some activities like drawing or reading or playing games till we had to go to assembly after 10 minutes we were told to pack away our things.

"Ok everyone we have assembly now so packs away," Mrs vermilion said, Mrs vermilion let us out row by row, We had to go down a few flights of stairs and around to the eating hall, We got to the assembly and sat down. Mr Allan was taking the assembly "Hey Jack what do you think this is about?", "Probably bullying or something I don't know", It was just about the principal and vice-principal.

10 minutes passed and Mr Allan was still talking about the vice principal and principal, I saw a strange guy out of the corner of my eye walking toward us, he had a hood and mask on so I couldn't get a good description of his face but he was walking normally so I could tell he wasn't drunk or anything he was also around average hight I'd say about 5"8-5"9.

He entered interrupting our assembly and told everyone to get to the back of the room, He took out a black pistol.

"Everyone gets to the back and sit down," he said, We all rushed to the back, 5 minutes passed but it felt like 5 hours, his back was turned looking at the door as if to make sure no one would catch him off guard.

I suddenly got some courage so I got up and tried to knock him out, my confidence soon turned to fear and despair, as I saw him turn around his face, had a look of surprise and disappointment then I realized 'this has to be the dumbest idea I've ever had.

I got within ten feet of him then I heard a bang I thought he missed so I kept going until my ears started ringing and my hope was short-lived as it shattered when I felt something warm trickling down my chest and I fell to the floor, my momentum dragged me passed him.

I was lying there I looked at the floor and I saw what I could only describe as a ruby shattered and melted into a maroon puddle.

I had one regret and that was getting shot like a dumbass, and I wondered how my mum was then I heard the man say "dumbass kid" he stepped towards everyone the footsteps began to echo and I started losing feeling in my body and my eyes grew heavier by the second then I blacked out…
