the dungeon experience

Early the next morning I went straight to the adventurers guild to check requests.

'Only three combat related requests. Two are bounties for D~B ranks, and the last one is dungeon exploration for C ranks.'

I sighed, and chose the dungeon related request.

'All bounties have an undetermined time to complete. And not to mention, if someone completes it before me'.

I took the piece of paper, and brought it to the front desk. "Come back in two hours". I nodded and left.

I decided to go back home. "Hi where were you?" Taurai asked.

"Just the adventurers guild." I answered. "Are you okay now?" She nodded while staring down.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked. "I don't feel like I've thanked you enough."

I sighed. "You're already letting us stay here for free."

"I know, but". "How are the kids"? I asked. "They're doing great, it was a good idea to bring wooden logs inside". I felt a little apologetic. "Sorry about that". 

I walked to my room, and started circulating my mana. 'Now I have to find the "sweet spot".'

Everyone that chose the mage class had to make their own "sweet spot" for passive mana circulation.

'And since I'm an ambiguous class, it's best to have everything covered.'

Too fast mana circulation and your body wastes energy and heats up. Too slow and your performance suffers.

'This may be the reason why mana manipulation is stuck.'

I did this for one hour.

"Oh my goodness." No progress. 'I didn't think it would be hard.'

Then I decided to go back to the guild.

'Now that I think about it, is guild even correct? Shouldn't it be association be more accurate?' 

When I arrived at the guild I walked towards a room titled, party room.

Inside I did a little interview with the party leader.

"Main role?" "Front lines melee combat." I answered. "Are you sure? You look quite small." I sighed and made a barrier.

*Vrrr*

"You either kick me out or keep me. You have ten seconds."

He looked at me confused. "I don't know what you're saying but I won't bring bad party members."

"Five seconds." "Geez w- cough!" He started coughing. "four." I continued counting down.

"Cough! wha- cough!" Now it looked like he was chocking. "2".

I looked at him calmly. "What's the answer?" I asked. "cough! What did you do!?"

"Don't worry you won't be in danger of dying". I still stared at him.

"Can I trust you?" I sighed and a piece of paper appeared.

"Sign it." He read through and signed. Then a blue mark appeared on my neck.

"Okay I'll trust you. You won't kill me right?" He asked more confident. "I won't, and don't have a reason". 

He flinched at the last part. 

"Fine I accept you into the party". I nodded, and walked away.

a couple hours later....

"So this is the party"? I looked around. 'Analysis'.

'C rank, bowman'. He was taller than me but didn't look confident.

negative: mana sickness(D+)

'A dissabled mage, D rank'. He was shorter than me, and had a slim figure.

Passive: mana regeneration(F), regeneration(D) quick feet(D) 

negative: none

'The party leader'. I sighed and walked up to Chris. "I can help you develope your mana".

Chris looked uncomfortable. "I didn't tell you my name". Everyone stared at me.

'Rookie mistake'. "Fine, my plan was to silently enhance your mana, and get rid of your "sickness"". I said.

Evan confirmed. "It's the truth, but how did you know his name"? 

"Analysis". I instantly answered. Evan looked confused. "It let's me see information on a person".

He calmed down, and we left the guild, and started going towards the dungeon. 

I silently made an invisible barrier. "Anyway, Chris why did you refuse"? I asked. 

"If you're talking about getting my negative removed, it's personal". I nodded, and we continued. 

"We're here". I looked at the generic cave entrance mildly disappointed. "We're here to kill the boss".

Someone put their hand up. "Why? In a book it said that these dungeons are profitable."

"Yes, that is correct but it can't be maintained forever". With that we walked inside.

The party leader Evan lit a torch, and walked in front.

*grrr!*

We heard annoying growling. "They're only goblins"! Evan yelled. There were roughly ten goblins.

"I know, they're only goblins".

[activated: swift movement(D)]

[activated: vital stun(B-)]

I quickly dispatched of five of them.

"You guys better not let me do everything". The goblins started shaking.

*graah!!*

One brave goblin charged forward. "Magic missile"!

A small blue ball passed by instantly, and pierced a goblins head.

"Damnit! I won't just give up"! Now Jake shot his bow. It didn't take long until all of them were dead.

"You know you don't need to yell out the name". We continued walking deeper.

"What? I tried but it's power is reduced". I scratched my head. "It won't matter against weak enemies. So just practice".

Chris nodded. *vrrr* "I made a light barrier. No one can hear you guys. What were your occupation before getting teleported"? I asked.

"W-what"? "How"? Both were confused.

"Same way I knew your name". I answered. "Is that like a cheat skill"?

"I guess you can call it that". 'Wait, how many people can I use support on'?

I checked the specifics.

Increases the growth of anyone who you're with. Can also target specific people for an added buff.

Currently supporting: Christine,Brendon, Crystal/Chris, Jake and Evan.

'Dang, that's interesting'. "There are more goblins"! Evan yelled.

"They're only six, you guys got this". I backed away and let them handle it.

It took a couple minutes.

"Great job g-" "Hey! Why didn't you help"?! Evan looked angry. "The best way to get good at anything is with experience". That was my answer.

"Were you just going to let us die"? I simply got confused.

"What? And what did you do"? I asked in a curious voice. "I'm the party leader don't get cocky"! I thought about it.

"Okay, I'll notify you next time". Evan casually walked towards a wall. "Aahh!!! F**k". 'Is this how he lets his anger out'?

After screaming for a little bit.

"Sorry, let's go to the boss room". I nodded. 'I guess it's called that nowadays'.

'In a couple years it got changed to "treasure room" because a couple adventurers discovered a secret'.

'I guess I shouldn't reveal it yet'.

In front of us was a fancy door. "Get ready, and Joseph don't stand back doing nothing". Evan said.

"Here goes nothing". *Creeaak!*

A shiver went down my spine. 'Why does it sound so old??'
