city and funds

We were now at the front gate of a city. "So do you have an identification card?" A guard said.

"I do not." I said. "Then you can't get through. Unless you pay for one. or pay upfront." Then he looked at Christine and Brendon. "Sorry it's the rules."

'Analysis, simple.'

(guard)

no titles.

Skills: mana sword (F+) +3

passive: mana circulation (E-) Asmil's swordsmanship (B) +1

I quickly closed my eyes, and practically fell to the ground. 'That forbidden E!' "Are you okay?!" The guard asked. I nodded and asked. "So you guys have a public task board somewhere?"

Then the guard led us to a board with multiple "tasks/commissions". "I suggest choosing an easy one to begin with." He was looking at Christine. "Is she your child?" He asked.

Christine flinched, and stared at me. "no, she's my sister. We like travelling, and this is the first city we've reached. And that is Brendon, his parents died and I took him in." I said.

"I understand. Then I'll get going" He waved and left. "So what ta-" I flinched because Christine was crying. "Is there something wrong?" I asked.

"No, there is nothing wrong." She replied smiling. "That's good, hey Brendon you stay here. I'll find tasks to do." He nodded, and I left for the task board.

'Nothing interesting.' They were mostly just, gather herbs for medicine or hunt common animals. Then I saw something interesting. 'Why does this one pay so much?'

It was a normal gather herbs task but. 'And the sender is, Antje?' It was a pretty insignificant royal family now. 'But in the future.'

I took the task and registered. "You have three days to complete this task. If you fail you'll have to pay a fee." I nodded and went back to Christine and Brendon.

"Let's do this quickly." I said.

We went back into the forest and started searching.

"These all should be enough." Brendon said. I nodded and started counting. "Brendon you gathered twenty three. Christine you gathered fifty four.

And I gathered sixty three." I said. "What do you mean twenty three?" Brendon asked.

"In total you actually gathered more but, the amount that is up to standard isn't high." "So there was a standard... How did Christine gather so many?!" Brendon at this realization looked shocked.

"It's because she has analysis, and a system that helps." Christine nodded.

"Anyway let's go get our rewards." Then we went back.

"What in the world?" The receptionist looked shocked. "please follow me, and wait here for a couple minutes!" we were sent to a big tent. "Does that use mana?" Brendon was staring at a desk lamp interested.

"Yes it uses it to light itself up." Then he asked another question. "Doesn't it need constant mana?" I nodded. "I think it circulates mana to make it last longer, then refill it after it goes out."

Christine didn't look at any items just held on to me. 'She's been like that the whole time. I'm gonna start worrying if this continues.' Although it made sense. She was something that seemed like a royal for some time.

"Hello I'm from the guild Hunters." A blond man with glasses appeared. "Hello, I'm the one that sent in the herbs." We shook hands. "That's good, I've already analysed the herbs. And I've got to say, the quality is amazing."

I nodded. "Where is it being sent to?" "oh, sorry but I want to buy them." The man said. "How much is it worth in your eyes?" I asked.

"Maybe one gold if you're lucky." He said. 'That's understandable.' *Shoosh!* Someone entered the tent. "Hey! I'll give you three hundred silver for it!" It was a woman with pink hair this time.

"I'm from the Soulless guild!" 'Oh yeah, they were rivals.' Even though the guild system was established a few years ago, there were already many guilds. 'And Soulless and Hunter are competing.

"How did you even know that this was taking place?" The man asked. "I just do." The woman said. "Still as childish as ever."

I dismissed it and asked the receptionist. "Can I meet the person who sent the request?" She nodded, and started walking away.

"Did you just ignore us?!" The woman looked shocked. "Yes, I saw the conversation wasn't going anywhere."

"But, I'm willing to make a deal. You both get one third of it for fifty silver." I said.

"Isn't that a scam!?" The woman said. "Not necessarily, and beggars can't be choosers." The man said. I nodded and we made a deal.

Then we waited for a while.

While waiting. [used 20 coins, thanks for your purchase] Two potions appeared. I quickly drank the first one. [potion consumption will take 15 hours]

I put the other one in my inventory. 'Wow this is what an impulsive purchase is.'

Then someone approached me. "Hi, I'm the one who sent the request. How much do I need to pay?" It was a woman in a maid outfit.

"Twenty five silver." She looked a little disappointed. "How much do you need?" I asked. "Enough for five potions."

I sighed. "First of all, what's your budget?" She looked nervous. "Do you want, a different kind of payment?"

I just stared at her. 'Is she desperate already?'

*vrrr*

I quickly made a dome of magic around us. "It's soundproof. Then, what's your budget?" I asked again.

"Five silver." I flinched. 'Wow, that's not a lot. Weren't they supposed to be royalty?' "Let's make a deal." I said.

"What kind?" She asked. "I, Christine and Brendon can live in your place. And you get the herbs." I said.

"I accept." *vrrr* The dome quickly disappeared.

'Now I have to pay for an identification card. "great doing business with you."

I went outside and quickly paid for three identification cards. "That'll be 75 silver." 'Previously I was summoned inside the city, so I didn't need an identification card.' I sighed and paid.

"Christine and Brendon. Let's go in." I said. ""Yes!"" Then we entered the city "Asmil".
