Memories

Cui Len'an!

The scumbag young master, infamous in his social circle, was a dishonored member of the Cui family. Growing up in a safe and privileged environment, he grew up doing despicable things and often got away with them.

A man spoiled to the core, he abused his status as a young master to stomp on other people. Looks up to himself as superior, he goes around partying and vandalizes houses for the amusement of himself and his similar friends. He would often date multiple women at the same time without any of them knowing the others' existences, lying and manipulating them into giving him pleasure, and abandoning them ruthlessly.

Spending thousands of bucks weekly on raising his pet dog, indulgences, and his hedonistic behavior.

This behavior of his earned him the nickname "The playboy of the Cui Family", a name that brings shame and humiliation to his prestigious background.

His father, the head of the family, could only bite his tongue and endure, doing everything he could to prevent him from doing anything reckless but to no avail. He had once sent him abroad to a school in the United Kingdom for 5 years due to him losing his patience with Len'an.

Despite being sent away thousands of kilometers from home, he was still unable to restrain his urges and went around making trouble, causing a headache to his father back at home. He could only pretend he had only three children and act as if he didn't exist.

The 'current' Cui Len'an's expression twitched with a bit of discomfort.

'I seriously need to be like this scum?'

Comparing Wei Yi and Cui Len'an, it's equivalent to comparing water and fire. Wei Yi, being water, was a grounded and disciplined man with a scholarly background, whereas Cui Len'an, being fire, was a lustful and quick-tempered man with a powerful background. They had an age difference of 5 years, with Wei Yi being 29 and Cui Len'an being 23.

How am I supposed to act like this unrestrained boy?

I may have to put my old clown acting gig from ten years ago into use.

Cui Len'an lampooned inwardly and thought to himself.

With his background and prowess, I may be able to secretly protect my family but I'm not sure if I, myself, would be safe. I believe there is much more to soul transfer than what is shown on the surface and I may need to ascertain if this body is permanently or temporarily mine.

Aside from that, how do I convince people that I haven't damaged my brain or have them discover there's a completely different person in this body?

As he was lost in his thoughts, a man dressed in a white doctoral suit entered with a clipboard and a pen. He appeared experienced and calm as he smiled openly at Cui Len'an, sweeping his gaze over him.

"Mr. Cui, congratulation for having woken up. I sincerely hope you enjoyed your stay here for the past few days," He smiled softly at him but his words were like knives. If it was the original Cui Len'an, he would have ordered him to be beaten up.

"Thank you, doctor. I'm sorry for the inconvenience my presence had bought," Cui Len'an returned back the exact smile, coupled with his dimples, "Do you mind if I ask how long I've been asleep?"

"You were in a coma for ten days. I was surprised to see you survive cause the damages were too severe," He spoke with distress, completely oblivious of soul transferring or any ritual, "It must be a miracle."

Miracle? I would like to think so too if it weren't for that old man and this body.

He lampooned inwardly and continued smiling.

"My sins must have not allowed me to pass away without repenting," Cui Len'an slipped out a few self-depreciation words. The doctor in front of him gave him an awkward smile and stopped smiling, replacing it with a complicated expression.

Observing and taking note of his expression changes, Cui Len'an could vaguely sense his dislike of him from afar. It can be said even his doctor didn't like him and was almost shocked he had let this abomination survive.

Could I blame him? Not really.

He shook his head inwardly and continued exchanging a couple of words with the doctor.

"Did any of my family pay me a visit?" He suddenly asked.

The doctor shook unnoticeably but it didn't escape his eyes, "They couldn't. They were too busy and haven't had the time."

All of a sudden, a voice in his head sounded.

Lies! Lies! He's lying!

Cui Len'an lowered his expression and spoke gloomily, "It's fine, they've always been busy. I don't blame them."

This voice! Telling me!

His mind jolted slightly.

Is this some sort of power I now have or is it just my imagination?

"You can be discharged today if all your wounds have healed. If there's anything you want to ask, you can ask for Doctor Gao."

Doctor Gao smiled gently and stood up, leaving the room and Cen Len'an motionless.

'What was the voice just now, telling me he was lying?'

He thought back to the voice, it had sounded the exact same as his voice but it resided inside his head.

'Did the injury I had give me superpowers?' He thought self-deprecatingly.

Besides, he learned a couple of things after his conversation with Doctor Gao. His family didn't bother to visit him in order to avoid bringing any shame to the family and also being busy was one of their frequent excuses to avoid having to do things.

It seemed no one paid him any visit at all, Len'an didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

Why am I surprised no one cared about him? Is this the merge of consciousness Old Lao mentioned?

Inwardly, he felt the entanglement of his and Len'an's memories, causing a slight headache. He felt different emotions at the same time, possibly the side effect of the merge.

'I hope I don't turn out to have a split personality. I may have to find a way to eliminate the other one, I can't think logically if two thoughts are clashing one another and waging war in my head.'

'But how would I do that?'

He was momentarily stunned, he realized he had almost zero knowledge of memory elimination nor any of the stuff that happened today.

'The only way I can learn more about this is by contacting Old Lao, which could possibly be a trap laid by some enemy families.'

He couldn't help but exude the mistrust of Wei Yi toward unfamiliar things.

'I also have to confirm if this body is completely mine.'

Thinking of the stuff he has to do, his head gradually turned numb from thinking.

There's too much stuff to learn! I feel like I'm back at university as a history major student, reading twenty pages about the Trojan War. I hadn't gotten to the kidnapping yet and my head was already spiraling with dizziness!

Cui Len'an forcefully did a couple of movements with his hand, to conclude if he could move. After succeeding, he tried with his legs and after many successes, he confirmed another thing.

After Old Lao's visit, my body gradually returned to normal without me realizing it!

I may have to convey my gratitude through Wang Ling. Aside from that, I can finally get out of place.

Things he learned from Doctor Gao were the result of the accident and the past state of his body. Apparently, his other body was taken away to the forensic center and he mentioned he couldn't obtain any other details from it. A couple of days ago, his body was in extremely bad shape that many didn't think he would continue life, but it suddenly recovers rapidly, causing tremendous shocks among doctors and nurses, completely oblivious as to how.

Again! The act of Old Lao strikes again!

He lampooned in his mind.

Cui Len'an turned to the bell next to his bed and pressed it, alerting the caretakers in his ward.

'I can finally be released.'

Then again, he remembered the stuff he had to do and the aftermath of this accident, another headache reared its head, twitching his features.
