It was midnight and Amara was sitting on the bed her mind was flooded with questions that only Ian could answer but still refused to answer them anyway. She didn't know what to do or believe anymore, whether to believe Ian or to just ignore what he said and move on. Her head felt like it was going to explode, her face was filled with tears, no matter how many times she wiped her tears they would just keep on falling over and over again, her heart was aching her head was aching, everything was aching.
"Are you done flooding my room with your tears." Ian asked walking into the room. He had decided not to leave anymore and that he would take care of the business problems over the phone. "You know what I hate about you?" He said seating down on the bed, Amara lifted her head, her vision wasn't too clear because her eyes were filled with tears. "Everytime you find something heartbreaking about your family or friends you just cry, without confirming if it's the truth or it is not." Ian said. Amara realised that Ian was right, before sitting here and crying she should have investigated, she mentally slapped herself for being such a crybaby. "Don't tell me you are the kind of person that believes everything that they see and hear sometimes they eyes and ears can't always be trusted, you should know that since people have been spreading rumors about you... Or are those rumors true." Ian said "What, no they aren't true, look I get what you are trying to say here, but if you were in my shoes wouldn't you have believed it, Ian I have been through a lot okay." She said. Sitting up straight from her bed. "OH you've been through a lot okay? Anyway what I told you wasn't true but what's in that file is true." He said. "But the dates are recent and my mother is already dead." Amara said. "Yes your mother is dead, those people didn't believe me when I said that she was dead sso they kept on paying a lot of money so that they could get her because well according to them she tasted great." He said shrugging his shoulders. "Do you want to know why I took you from your home." He asked and Amara nodded her head quickly. "To replace your mother, I wanted you to continue what she was doing." He said. "But well I changed my plans and well we got married." He said. "So my mom was actually a prostitute, are you saying saying that she did it while she was married to dad?" Amara asked. This was a shock for her, she thought that her mother was happy in her marriage so she never imagined her doing something like this and for what reason."Yes... She was bored with her sex life so she wanted something new, she wished to leave your dad but well there was you she knew how much you loved your dad so she didn't dare leave and your father was an abusive man behind closed doors, sometimes he would rape your mother if she was not in the mood for sex. "He said. "What? And what makes you think that I will believe you?" Amara asked him. He looked at her with a smile on his face. "OH? The choice is yours, if you don't believe me then I can give you the phone numbers of your mother's former clients they will tell you everything, they even know the problems that your mother was facing in her marriage." Ian said. "How come you know a lot about me and my parents, where did you get all thus information." Amara asked him. "Well I know everything about my employees so that if they decide to want to expose me or turn their backs on me I use that information to make them stay or keep their mouths shut and they continue working for me, even those that are working at my company. "He said. "What kind of a boss does that to his employees." Amara asked him. "Look sweetheart I am a different boss I am not like any of the other bosses okay, so don't compare me to anyone because I am Ian I an not everyone." Ian said, Ian was confident, ruthless, cocky, prideful and smart. That is why he was able to make it to the top of the mountain in such a short period of time without even collapsing or being near to collapsing. "You are so full of yourself aren't you?" Amara said. "Well at least I can back all that talk up princess." He said. "I am not your princess." Amara said. "I didn't say you were my princess I just said you were princess, I didn't know that your IQ was that low." Ian said. "You know there is a thin line between stupidity and confidence, and you've crossed that line so many times... Leave me alone now I want to sleep my head is aching." Amara said. "And if I decide not to leave?" He asked. "I don't know i heard that stabbing yourself where the baby is the little thing will be gone." Amara said. "Amara said." We both know that you would do that, I know that you love this child maybe more than I do. "Ian said. "Whatever." Amara said. "Okay I'm going to take a shower right now." Ian said, and he stood up from the bed and he went into the bathroom to take a shower. And Amara went to bed.
The next morning Amara woke up to the sound of a piano from downstairs. She didn't know who was playing it but it felt so relaxing, just what she needed to start her morning. The sound of the piano felt so smooth and majestic in her ears, she didn't know if she was exaggerating or if the sound really was the most beautiful thing she had ever heard in her entire life, she sat up straight from the bed stretching her body, she got off from the bed she walked out of the room wanting to see who was playing this piano, she closed the door as soon as she walked out. She felt like a little girl following the smell of muffins that just came out of the oven. She walked down the stairs and the sound felt a little louder than it was when she was in the bedroom. After a half a minute she found the room where the sound was coming from and she found Ian playing the piano. She couldn't help but stare at him, he looked focused and looked like he loved and enjoyed what he was doing. She stood the watching him. "Are you done watching." Ian asked. He stopped playing the piano and he looked at her. "I didn't know that you could play a piano like that." Amara said walking closer to him. " mother used to play it for me a Dorothy every morning. " He said. "Do you miss her?"Amara asked. "Yeah, she was the person I was the most close to, she was my best friend you know." He said. This was the first time Amara had heard him talk about his mother. "I wish I could have met your real mom you know." Amara said sitting on top of the piano. "Yeah, she..." He stopped himself taking a deep breath, Amara could see tears in his eyes, it was a surprise for her because it was the first time that she had seen tears in his eyes. "I know, but life is full of ups and downs so we just have to keep moving."She said."I am going to visit her grave today, do you want to come with me." Ian asked her. And Amara was a bit taken back, this was new for her. "Uhm yeah,i am going to take a shower now." She said standing up and walking out of the room. She left Ian smiling, that pure smile that only a few people have seen, he was starting to get comfortable with her.
