Chapter Four

Gracie, jumped up as she saw Noah coming near. Her face heated up as she saw Maddie's small smirk. She had a bad feeling eyeing that mischievous face. Her thoughts came true when she saw her get up and walk over to

Noah's group. Maddie boldly walked towards them. Pausing to face Gracie, she smiled sweetly at her before continuing.

Grinning Maddie asked, "Hey, guys do you want to sit together?"

The guys looked at each other. Seeing that no one had any objections they bounced their heads. Maddie sneaked a glance at Gracie before exclaiming, "Great! Come on my friends over there."

Gracie felt Noah's eye on her as she gaped down at her hands. She was going to kill Maddie afterwards! She halted her thoughts as they got nearer to her location. Oh no! Did she look alright?! She doesn't even have time to check with a mirror! Maddie!

"This is Gracie, my best friend!" Maddie explained to them.

"Nice to meet you, Gracie," acknowledged Shane, Noah's best friend.

The group consisted of Noah, Shane and Alex.

Alex was a year younger and also Shane's cousin. While Noah had a more relaxed and soft look, Shane's face was more masculine and chiselled. His tanned skin and grey eyes attracted countless girls. While Alex had a more "youthful" look. Childish in away. Medium length wavy red hair that was tied back and chocolate brown eyes that always seemed to be full of life.

"Yeah, nice to meet you." Gracie was amazed that she hadn't stumbled on her words already.

She looked around as they all settled beside her one by one. Maddie, of course by her left side. While Noah to her right, courtesy of Maddie. Who specifically told him to. Gracie found herself unable to stop glimpsing at Noah. She was about to take one last peek at him when she instead found herself staring into a pair of onyx coloured eyes.

"Haha, that scared me!" He giggled his face flushed slightly pink.

"Me too!" Gracie found herself smiling along with him.

"You're in the same cooking class as me, right? With Mrs Howard, " Noah asked.

"Yep, we're both out of luck with that class,"

"I know, out of all the teachers we could've had! It just had to be the most demanding one,"

Gracie's mind was in chaos because of the fact that she was actually having a conversation with Noah, "I mean at least we can bond over the fact that we both loathe her?"

Noah snorted jokingly and said, "Right, that's a plus for me!"

"Oh, so you don't want to bond with yours truly over here! How rude!"

"I'm just teasing I would die to get to know you, ma'am,"

Gracie got thrilled at the prospect of her at least becoming friends with Noah. Her eyes felt like they would explode with tears of happiness any time now. Before she could say anything she heard snickering from around her. Noah looked to have heard it as well judging by his confused look. They turned around and saw Maddie and the others trembling with laughter.

The two saw that their friends were staring at them with knowing looks. Gracie's face burned with embarrassment. She saw from the corner of her eye that Noah was reacting as awkwardly as she was. Gracie's lips curved happily at that thought. So she wasn't the only one!

He also was flustered. Gracie beamed with euphoria at Noah. Noah's eyes expanded a bit before returning a cute grin. Oh god! Even his grin was flawless! There's no going back now. She's falling for him more and more. This unrequited infatuation of hers...could there actually be hope for it?
