A Dark Cave

Heavy footsteps echoed through the rocks, which so perfectly combined into a curve but clear path. It was easy to assume that someone, or something, must've built it.

Her robe brushing against the solid floor as her hands traced the wall, examining every crack, every imperfection. In a place like this, every bit of carelessness can be too catastrophic to handle.

A single torch she held was enough to scare away darkness. Swaying it side by side, she made her way deeper. The light of the entrance had long been lost, and forward seemed to be the only reasonable path.

Silence. Short lived, interrupted by the whistling winds. That the confirmation she needed. Letting go off of the walls and quickening her pace, Lola was here for a reason, and that reason had a tight timer.

From walking, to jogging, to running, she could see a small opening on the walls. The sun was setting.

Brushing her hair, black as the darkness of the cave itself, aside, she reached for her shield. A few more steps, and a light could be seen from under a door. An entrance. A place. Inhabitants. She readied her stance, taking a deep breath and bashing through the wooden door using her shield.
