Two days later...

Maria entered Lola's office building, As Marco was heading out , She collides with Marco and falls to the ground .

Marco looked at her, knelt and extended his hand to assist her in getting up; Maria took his hand and he pulled her up. 'She's that woman I saw with madam weeks ago,' Marco thought as he scanned her from head to toe.

"Why are you gawking at me like that?" Maria asked as she looked at him with a slight frown.

Marco's mouth opened to speak, but nothing came out.

"I'm sorry for running into you," He finally said, bowing.

"No, don't bow," Maria said with a chuckle.

Marco rose up and looked at her.

She smiled warmly, saying, "It was also my fault for not looking."

"In any case, do you know where your boss's office is located? I have an urgent matter to discuss with her "Maria inquired.

"Yes, I'll take you there," Marco said as he led Maria along.

When they arrived at Lola's office, Marco knocked on the door.

"Madam Someone has come to see you "Marco declared.

"If it's Mr Borbón, tell him to leave," Lola instructed.

Maria raised her brows, and Marco coughed slightly in an attempt to suppress his laughter.

'Did Luis come here?' Maria pondered and Marco said,

"It's not Mr Borbón, madam, it's... "

"This door, it's not locked right?" Maria interrupted Marco as he was about to finish his sentence.

"Yes, it's not locked," Marco said as he looked at her.

"You may return," she said, holding the handle.

"We need to wait for my Madam's response," Marco said, stopping her from opening the door.

"No, I don't have time," Maria said, pulling the door handle and pushing it open.

Lola turned away from her laptop and her eyes fell on an angry-looking Maria.

"I'm sorry madam," Marco said, bowing his head.

Lola sighed and said, "It's okay."

"Oh, Madam, I have done the photocopy of the document you asked me to," Marco said with a bow as he handed out two booklet envelopes, one white, the other red

. Lola glanced at him, took the booklet envelope, and said, "Thank you, Mr Fernandez. You may leave."

'I know everything in madam's life isn't my concern and I wasn't meant to look at what was inside but I was curious, and now I'm worried. How could Mr Rodriguez marry someone else behind madam's back after everything she and her father have done for his company,' Marco thought as he walked out, closing the door behind him.

"Lola, where did you keep your phone?" Maria half-yelled.

"It's been set to silent," Lola responded.

"For two whole days!! I've been attempting to contact you, "Maria stated while sitting in one of the sofas.

"Did something happen?" She inquired of Lola.

"Read it," Lola said as she placed the red booklet envelope on her table . Maria stood up, walked towards her table and took the envelope .

Maria raised an eyebrow as she examined the booklet envelope and then looked at Lola. She opened the booklet envelope and took out the certificate. Her jaw dropped as she read through it.

She looked at Lola, then back at it, saying, "They were married on the same day as you? Oh my God!" and covered her lips with her hand.

She re-inserted the certificate into the booklet envelope and set it on Lola's table.

"It's safe to say they knew each other before I and Santiago got married, or probably even before I met Santiago," Lola explained.

"From where did you get it?" Maria inquired.

"It was given to me by a maid who said she saw it in Santiago's study." Lola said.

"A maid?" Maria inquired.

"Yes, she's in charge of cleaning Santiago's Study; she probably found it laying around," Lola explained.

"How did it end up there?" Maria asked, Lola looked at Maria and responded, "Livia, did it of course."

"Santiago and Livia both had hickeys on the day I received this. Livia must have diverted Santiago's attention by having sex with him, and she most likely stole the keys to his study "Lola elaborated.

' It was too obvious, like she wanted me to know she did it. '

"So you're saying she did it herself?" Maria inquired.

"No, there's someone else in that house helping her," Lola said, speculating that it could be one of the maids.

"But I don't know who, and anyway, why are you here?" Lola inquired.

" I visited the last hospital on my list two days ago and discovered something shocking... " Maria stated that she took her phone from her bag and showed the picture to Lola.

"This was discovered in a gynecologist's office; Livia's pregnancy is one month old. That means the surrogacy was merely a cover-up for her pregnancy. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see Livia's fill there."Maria elaborated.

A formed cold arch on Lola's lips as she stared at the pregnancy report on Maria's phone.

"I'm not sure if it's Santiago's child, but Livia appears to be a cunning individual; she could be duping Santiago." Maria said.

Lola shook her head and said, "It's Santiago's child."

"We need to be sure first, and I know what you can do to get a valid result," Maria explained.

"What else is there to discover? This is proof that Santiago cheated."Lola stated.

"I know, but we need the hardcopy, and I can't just ask Mrs Andrea, the gynecologist , to give me a copy of all her patients' reports; we have to get it by doing both a pregnancy test and a prenatal paternity test," Maria explained.

"You would need DNA samples from Santiago's blood or saliva. Livia's will be simple to obtain; simply persuade her to come in for a test and leave the task of finding a reliable hospital to me, "Maria stated.

Lola tapped her chin and said, "She knows I don't like her, and the same goes for Santiago, It will be difficult."

"Perhaps you don't need to do it yourself." With a smirk on her face, Maria said.

"That won't be a problem," Lola said as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs.

Inside the Mansion...

Santiago wrapped his arm around Livia and pulled her closer to him as they lay naked on his bed.

"I can't believe you left your work just to come here and do this with me," Livia said, running her fingers across his bare chest.

"I would literally do anything for you," Santiago stated. Livia furrowed her brows and slammed her fist on his chest, causing Santiago to jolt up and wince in pain, asking, "why did you do that?"

Livia was about to leave the bed when she covered her body with the bed sheets. He took her arm and drew her closer to his chest.

"Why do you appear angry?" Santiago inquired. Livia gave him a stern look and said, "You said you'd do anything for me, and you still say it, but whenever I ask you to divorce Lola and make me your legal wife, you just make empty promises. I'm sick of it."

"No, my love, it's not that easy, please be patient," Santiago said, kissing at her cheeks.

"That's what you always say when it's actually easy," Livia said, clenching onto the bedsheet she was using to cover her body.

"What are you saying?" Santiago asked, raising his brows.

"Santiago, tell her we're married, tell her everything." Livia half yelled.

Santiago immediately covered Livia's mouth, saying, "Are you insane? if Lola finds out what we've done, I might end up in jail, I'll lose my money, my company, everything will be gone for good."

"What do you mean?" Livia asked, raising an eyebrow and removing his hands from her mouth.

"I mean, Lola is a smart , powerful and dangerous woman," Santiago explained. Livia rolled her eyes and said, "Then she would have done something when she noticed our hickeys. she already knows we're making love," Livia explained.

"That's not it, Livia; she can't do anything now because she lacks evidence," Santiago said, and Livia froze.

"Evidence? What kind of evidence?" Livia stuttered.

Santiago looked at her and asked, "Are you all right?"

"Answer my question, what kind of evidence?" Livia said, nodding.

"Like our marriage certificate and probably anything that proves we are together," Santiago said .

Livia's covered her face and sighed, thinking, ' I made a huge mistake '

"Now do you understand? Why I asked you to burn it? "Santiago stated.

"Of course, and I did burn it," Livia lied, smiling.

"I know I trust you," Santiago said, planting a gentle kiss on her lips.

"Let's forget about Lola and enjoy this moment," Santiago said huskily, smirking.

Two hours later...

'He finally fell asleep ,' Livia thought as she snuck out of his embrace, took a shower, tied one of his robes, and left his room.

'I need to look for Amber,' Livia thought as she looks dowwn and sees Amber assisting the other maids with the bed sheets.

Amber looked and saw Livia signalling for her to come from upstairs.

"I will be right back," Amber said to the other maids.

They nodded and stood there watching her walk towards the stairs.

She got to Livia's side, and Livia immediately dragged her to her room. They close the door behind them.

"What's it this time?" Amber inquired.

"Change of plans, You must retrieve that booklet envelope," Livia stated.

"How, though?" Amber inquired.

"It should be in Lola's room," Livia pointed out.

"Have you noticed Lola hasn't been home in a few days?" Amber laughed.

Livia took a step back and thought for a moment. "Of course you wouldn't know when you're busy screwing her husband," Amber mumbled, rolling her eyes.

And Livia immediately glared at her.

"Ahem! Anyway, it's not going to be in her room "Amber also added.

"I need that envelope," Livia said, running her fingers through her hair.

"Why do you need it?" Amber inquired.

"So that I can destroy it," Livia explained.

"When she returns and she isn't there, you have to go through her things and find that booklet envelope, okay?" Livia stated.

"How am I going to accomplish that?" Amber inquired, her face befuddled.

"I don't know how, but you have to get it back without being noticed," Livia said, shaking her head.

Lola finally arrived home at night. She went straight to her room, set her bag on the table, and went to take a shower before heading downstairs for dinner.

During that time, Amber entered and began searching through Lola's drawer but found nothing. She then searched through Lola's bag and discovered the booklet envelope with the same writing on it. She took it, but just as she was about to leave Lola's room, the door opened .
