I don't understand why I haven't asked the maid to bring me bottles of water.
I don't know if it was because of the pregnancy or the curse, but I was thirsty all the time. My thirst was quenched for a while, but it didn't last. I decided to leave my room and walk slowly down the hallway. I didn't intend to go downstairs, but I did plan to shout from above so they could hear me.
But I stopped abruptly near the stairs. My sense of hearing caught a conversation between Sara and Stefan. I know I shouldn't have stayed to listen to what they were talking about, but I couldn't help it, as Sara mentioned something that alarmed me. It surprised me. And it hurt. I placed a hand on my chest to calm the accelerated beats of my heart.
