The message had been sent quickly, but Chu Zhiyi and Jinjin stared blankly for half an hour without any response from the other party.
Jinjin poured herself a cup of tea, her face etched with impatience.
"He didn't miss the message I sent, did he?"
Chu Zhiyi speculated, "Maybe he's busy. Since he asked if you were free tomorrow evening, that probably means he'll check his phone tomorrow."
Jinjin felt that Chu Zhiyi made sense and couldn't help feeling a bit disappointed, but she still wanted Chu Zhiyi to help her pick out a dress to wear the next day.
No sooner had they picked out a dress than Jinjin's phone chimed.
The two exchanged glances and immediately rushed to the phone.
They saw that Captain Huo had finally replied languidly an hour after Jinjin had sent her message.
Captain Huo: Dinner at six tomorrow evening?
