Juice

Evelyn was now in a dilema, she couldn't throw herself at him, she now really wanted to leave.

Cameron placed the two glasses of juice on the table before them. Staring at the juice, Evelyn swallowed.

I certainly can't drink this, what excuse should I give?

I'm allergic to liquids? No! That's very stupid!

Realizing that she was running out of time, Evelyn decided to say whatever came to her mind.

I'm sorry I'm allergic to liquids...Immediately realizing how awkward and strange that sounded, she quickly changed it.

I mean, juice...I'm sorry I don't take juice. Evelyn eyes scanned the room in a weird manner and she decided to rephrase. Juice...I don't take them...because I'm allergic, Yes! That's right! I don't take liquids...I mean, juice beause I'm allergic.

Evelyn furrowed her brows in an asking manner, as if wanting to know if that made any iota of sense in Cameron's ears. Thankfully, the mixed blood didn't seem to notice any thing weird in her behavior.

But that didn't mean he didn't find her words strange. Cameron scratched his head in confusion, this was the strangest thing he had ever heard.

I mean, he had head of allergies, but allergic to juice!?

Cameron was confused for a moment before he understood what Evelyn had said.

Ermm....cameron began, not sure of what to say. What kind of Juice are you allergic to? Maybe can get you a new one that wouldn't trigger your allergy, I mean, you take juices right?

Evelyn waved her hand across her face with a smile, as if she wanted to swat a fly. Nah, I don't take juice, any one at all. It's no big deal, you don't have to worry yourself. what I'm allergic to isn't the contents of the juice, but the juice in itself.

Cameron wore a confused expression as he watched Evelyn smile unnaturally. He wasn't totally sure that he understood what she said properly.

Cameron's confusion made way for an amused expression. Well, it couldn't be all juices, right? I mean, all juices have their own components and they are made up of different things...

Evelyn laughed. Hah! Well, for the fact that they are called juice, then they must have something in common, right?

Cameron nodded slowly and unsteadily. Well, I guess so...

Evelyn slapped his shoulder playfully. C'mon! What do you mean, you think so? I know you know so!

Cameron was now astonished. Evelyn was talking nonsense, and she was making him go along with her.

Cameron let out a confused laugh as he spoke. Well, then I guess I know so!

Evelyn laughed. Then it's that thing I'm allergic to.

Cameron furrowed his brows. What thing?

Evelyn's eyes moved around aimlessly for a moment. It's...er...what I'm allergic to is...the common thing!

Cameron's mouth was slightly ajar as he watched the panicked scramble for her words.

What I'm allergic to is what every juice has in common with each other! Evelyn said this as a little shout.

Cameron smiled. Okay then...could you please tell me what they have in common that you're allergic to? I'm quite curious to...

Evelyn knew there was no way out of this question, and she wasn't going to embarrass herself any further, so she quickly interrupted the statement. Oh my gosh! You're such a funny man! Evelyn said this with a small laugh as she smacked his shoulder playfully.

The confused look on Cameron's face seemed to become even clearer. I wasn't...

Evelyn interrupted him again. She immediately followed her previous talk with a question, not giving him any chance to say anything more. So...You wanted to say something to me? C'mon, this place is private enough, spill the beans.

Cameron nodded as he was suddenly overwhelmed with nervousness, the time had finally come.

I just wanted to say that...

Looking at the weird smile that was plastered on Evelyn's face, Cameron had a last minute rethink.

How sure am I that she isn't a lunatic?

He cast another glance at her and he instantly dispelled the thought immediately.

A lunatic was never that pretty.

Evelyn raised a brow quizzically, seemingly wanting to know what made him to stop his statement halfway. He hadn't even reached halfway.

Cameron started talking again. We've known each other for about three weeks now, right?

Evelyn nodded. Yeah, we sure do.

It was weird that Evelyn couldn't notice what was about to happen to right now, even though that was what she had been expecting and hoping for it to happen, it was about to happen right now and she didn't have an inkling.
