Reincarnation One Way And Back

A nigh-omnipotent god gets bored so he erases his memories, gives up his power and reincarnates as a normal human in a modern world, and then dies again. Chapter 7: The Boredom And The Immediate Cure.

"You know, I'm glad that I don't remember being an infant, it's boring." Alex said, looking around the room he was in, lying on a bed with nothing to do.

"Yeah, it's really boring. Wanna go somewhere, explore something?" Elara replied in a tone that clearly indicated boredom. They talked about it 2 minutes ago, and the excitement Alex felt learning about Souls and such wore off.

"Go where and explore what? And how do you want me to move in this body?" Alex asked, referring to his body that was not even a day old.

"I don't know what you want to explore. There are some countries, giant forests, caves and more. As for your body, we can create a clone. It's pretty simple, for me at least." Elara answered. Alex wanted to ask how she knew about these things even though she never left his side.

"You should stop looking through the memories of anyone you meet. One day you'll see something you don't want to." Alex said, remembering that she read through his father's memories earlier.

"Yeah, like when I looked through yours. You're right in saying that I never wanted to see what I saw. But that's besides the point. For now, what type of clone do you want?" Elara asked. Alex at first wanted to say that she should stop bringing it up, but became distracted by Elara's question.

"Different types of clones? How are they different?" Alex asked.

"Well, they differ in how they behave. The first type is the easiest to make, it's an exact replica of your physical body down to your DNA that you transfer your Soul into." Elara explained, showing a mental image in Alex's head of two bodies, one of them titled 'Original' and glowing, signaling a Soul present inside. The glowing one dims while the other one gets brighter, showing the Soul getting transferred.

"The second one is similar, but instead of transferring your Soul, you split your 'Core', create a 'Soul Casing' and 'Core Shield', and send this new Soul into another body." As Elara explained, both of the bodies started glowing, showing that the 'Core' was present inside both.

"So, do you wanna create a clone and go somewhere?" Elara asked.

"Hold on, wouldn't recreating a body and creating a new Soul be hard? How are you so casual about it? You want me to exhaust myself even trying?" Alex asked, concerned that the strain of manipulating Xen so perfectly would exhaust him.

"Don't worry, I'll be the one to create these things, so you don't have to worry." Elara answered, slowly accumulating enough Xen to create a clone and recreate the two layers of a Soul.

"But won't you strain yourself then? And I don't think that there's enough Xen in my body to create a clone with an adult body." Alex said to make sure that his only friend doesn't go unconscious because he would get bored easily.

"I would get exhausted if I had a physical body, and since I do not, I will not exhaust myself. And your body doesn't have any Xen whatsoever." Elara answered, trying to calm Alex down and just let her do her thing.

"Well, since my body has no Xen whatsoever, how do you want to create an adult body?" Alex asked, yet again interrupting Elara.

"No human has Xen in their body, they need to manipulate Xen in their surroundings." Elara answered, her tone slightly irritated.

"Still, can my body handle this much Xen?" Alex asked.

"No, it can't. But I'm not gathering Xen and clinging it onto your body, I'm sending it straight to the 'Incomplete Complex World' where there's no limit to how much Xen can be stored." Elara answered and finally created a clone, obviously outside the castle so he's not attacked by guards. Then, she created the 'Core Shield' and 'Soul Casing', split Alex's 'Core' and implanted one half into the clone. All of Alex's consciousness was in the clone's half of the 'Core', leaving the baby body behaving like an actual newborn.

"Woah..." Alex said out loud. He lived on a farm in his previous life, but he never saw such big fields or forests. He was high up on a hill behind the castle, the royal castle on one side and a giant forest and multiple fields on the other.

"Forgot to mention, this kingdom is an agriculture powerhouse in this world. It's also almost in the middle of the continent, so a lot of trades and exchanges happen here." Elara said, creating another clone, identical to Alex, and transferring her entire Soul into it. The appearance changed to the one Alex saw in the 'Incomplete Complex World'. Her silver, shoulder-length hair blew in the wind, red eyes glowed under the sunlight.

"Why did you come out?" Alex asked, at which Elara shrugged.

"Why not? I wanna explore and touch things myself, not have to rely on you for travel." Elara explained, her clothes changed to more appropriate for the medieval-like era. Some beat-up clothes that a new adventurer would have.

"Oh? I guess that modern clothes would be suspicious here." Alex said before looking down at himself.

"Could you do mine too?" Alex asked. Elara nodded and changed his clothes too, making almost a perfect copy of her adventurer's clothes with some changes.

"So, where to first?" Elara asked, her excitement evident as she almost started jumping around.

"You looked through my parents' memories, right? How about you suggest something?" Alex asked, making Elara stop and think for a moment.

"How about going through the forest and then turning to the capital to check out the guild?" Elara finally suggested.

"Should've guessed that guilds exist. But why the detour through the forest? Wouldn't going in a straight line there be the fastest?" Alex asked, curious as to why Elara, who seemed to always prioritize efficiency, wanted to go the longer path.

"Because going in a straight path requires going around the castle and through the castle's garden. You can go for it, but I'm not risking getting caught by guards at the gate or the gardeners in the garden." Elara explained, at which Alex nodded in understanding.

"Guess you're right. Let's go." And with those words, Alex began walking down the hill towards the forest, slowly getting away from the castle.

"Just make sure the workers on the fields don't see you." Ealra added. Alex nodded and said,

"Then change the color of our clothes to green, we'll have some camouflage in the woods." Elara nodded and changed the previously brown-dominated adventurer's clothes into more green ones.

"Nice, now be quiet." Alex whispered as he continued on walking.

"As if I don't know. And if we need to, we can communicate in our minds." Elara said as she followed Alex.

"Really? How, I thought that you split your 'Core' and have half in this body, and half in my 'Core'?" Alex said, this time in his mind.

"Who told you that? I sent my entire 'Core' into this body, it's just that we're technically one being." Elara explained, also changing her method of communication.

"Wait, how so? How are we one being?" Alex asked.

"Well, your 'Core' is your being basically, and since I exist in your 'Core', I'm a part of your being." Elara explained, the two of them still getting closer to the forest.

"Alright, I guess." Alex said as they passed the first tree.

"Well, not like this is the only way to talk telepathically." Elara added casually, looking around the forest. Huge trees with the crown starting at least 150 meters above the ground.

"What are the other methods?" Alex asked curiously.

"You know about quantum entanglement? You know, particles entangled together and sending information to each other instantaneously regardless of distance between them?" Elara responded.

"That, yeah, so telepathy works on quantum entanglement?" Alex asked and Elara nodded.

"Yup, that's it. People in this world know about telepathy and can talk with each other telepathically, but don't exactly understand how it works." Elara said.

"Wait, how does it work exactly?" Alex asked, making Elara sigh in annoyance.

"You should use your brain a bit and imagine it." Elara said in an annoyed tone, but proceeded to explain so Alex would understand,

"But, basically, let's say that person A and person B are trying to communicate using telepathy. Person A creates particles, usually within their brain, entangles them with other particles and teleports these other particles to person B's brain, which they can measure or observe and get the information person A was sending them."

"And we don't need to do that because you are technically already a part of my 'Core'?" Alex asked, making sure that he understood.

"Yep. Basically, I'm also a clone of some sort, I just have my own mind." Elara explained and Alex nodded in understanding.
