Chapter Six: Real Tangible Development
Day after day, the child's body showed evident progress in resistance. After approximately five days, the original dose of poison no longer affected him at all, prompting him to increase the dosage.
Despite the constant annoyance and pain that accompanied him like a persistent mosquito, he never ceased his training, be it martial arts or modern sports.
On the seventh day, as expected, the hissing sound returned, but this time it was accompanied by 27 snakes. Catching them proved easier than before, likely due to the constant circulation of snake venom in his body throughout the week. His physical condition improved significantly, and he even gained some muscle mass.
The child's improved physique was aided by his consumption of snake meat and the ample food provided to him daily. Unlike the previous test, where he had been paralyzed for three consecutive days or given insufficient and spoiled food, he now ate abundantly every day.
After catching the snakes, the child extracted their blood, skin, and fangs. He replaced the old poison bag with a new one containing the toxins he had obtained. The child decided to increase the continuous dose since the current dosage no longer had a significant effect.
This monotonous and suffocating routine continued for another week, and as expected, the number of snakes increased to 81. Despite the remarkable progress he had made in the past week, he struggled greatly to catch them and was occasionally bitten. However, his acquired immunity protected him from the venom's effects.
Afterward, the child returned to his usual routine, training to consume snake meat. Due to the abundance of snakes, he covered them with snake skins to preserve them. The child intensified his training during this week, anticipating that it would be challenging to control an even larger number of snakes in the future.
After a week had passed, the child found himself in a dark room with no light. He grabbed a plate filled with poison and drank it as if it were water. Wiping his lips, he exclaimed, "This immunity still amazes me. I am now completely immune to this type of poison. It no longer affects me."
After a while, the familiar hissing sound resurfaced, but this time the child could clearly see the room. A single snake appeared, larger and longer than the previous ones, with larger fangs.
"Another type of snake? Quite unexpected," the child muttered. Without waiting for the snake to make a move, he swiftly approached it. To his surprise, the snake reacted with lightning speed, coiling around his hand and squeezing it with superhuman force.
Within seconds, the child felt his hand on the verge of being crushed. However, due to his repeated exposure to poison, his reactions had greatly improved, surpassing those of an average human.
Capitalizing on his small size, he formed his other hand into a fist and aimed directly for the snake's head, posing a threat to its existence. The snake struggled to keep up with the sudden change in the situation but seemed to have made a significant decision.
With a chilling glint in its eyes, the snake slightly lowered its head, allowing the fist to strike just below its head, resulting in its immediate demise. Yet, the child felt no joy as the snake had lived up to its name.
In its final moments, the snake bit the child on his shoulder, injecting all the poison it had left within it. A strange sense of nausea overwhelmed him, accompanied by numbness in the bitten shoulder.
"I can't believe it happened at the worst possible moment—hemotoxin," the child muttered. It was another one of the four main types of poison, affecting the blood and circulatory system.
This poison hindered the blood's ability to clot, significantly increasing the likelihood of internal or external bleeding. Even the slightest impact could result in bleeding. Fear settled in as the child realized the severity of the situation.
To avoid triggering bleeding, he lay motionless on the ground, adopting a plant-like existence, where any wrong movement could prove fatal.
