Threats and Interrogations (II)

"Now explain to me again what this prophecy is, why you kidnapped my sister and who is this lord of chaos!"

Hidden in the forest near the Thorneheart villa, Arthur and Loena proceeded to torture Avalon as they tried their best to get all sorts of information from him

Thankfully during all these years, Arthur had already practically mapped out the entire forest so right now he wasn't worried about Avalon's screams being heard by the maids and knights still at the villa

"You have five minutes to talk or else you want to lose the light in your only remaining eye," said Arthur as he pointed a long stick at Avalon's left eye

"I'll tell you! I'll tell you, just please no more!"

Falling on his knees, Avalon couldn't help but wish everything could just end at this moment

"I'm not to high a member of the church, but most of us know a thing or two about the prophecy, and according to our superiors it hints at the rise of a demon king and the return of the old gods"

"And as for our lord, the lord of chaos is one of those said old gods"

"As followers, it is but our duty to make the world ready to receive the return of our lord!"

"All must believe in him, for only then shall they live forever in his abode!"

"Driven out by the evil gods! Only when chaos returns can everything be solved!"

Talking about his lord, no more was Avalon in pain as a certain madness stared to seep in to his mind

Completely different from just now when he was in pain, Avalon began to preach about the greatness of his lord to Arthur and Leona

Not only that, but Arthur seemed to notice a familiar black liquid showing signs of dripping from his pores

Seeing this, Arthur knew he had to act now

*Bang! *

Landing a kick to Avalon's head, Arthur directly knocked the senses back into his head

Fortunately, it looked like his attempt was successful as following the kick, the madness in Avalon's eyes seemed to die down a bit

However, even if that was the case, Arthur couldn't help but be a bit worried by what just happened

*Hmmm…. Could it be some kind of brainwashing curse? If so, how exactly does it work?"

*Do you have to be a member of his church for it to work on you? And are they any limitations to such a curse? *

Thinking of what happened to Amos back then, Arthur couldn't help that feel neither the church of chaos nor the old gods where anything simple

Not only that, but why did he feel that the birth of the demon king in the prophecy seemed to be somehow related to him

Could it be that the world-will found out he was a reincarnator and wanted to eliminate him in the form of some prophecy?

Thinking of all these things, Arthur couldn't help but have a headache.

"Master, are you alright? You don't look to good?" asked Leona as she felt Arthur's tumulus emotions through their connection

However, Arthur who wanted didn't want her or the other dependents to worry decided to brush it off

Waving for her not to worry, he once turned his attention to Avalon who had regained his senses

"Then what about my sister, why did you guys kidnap my sister?'

Thinking of Sabrina who was currently under the watch of the other dependents back home, Arthur unknowingly began to get angry when he thought of what would have happened to her if he didn't react fast enough

And Avalon sensing Arthur's anger quickly began answering in order not to be tortured again

"Wait a minute! Don't move closer I'll talk!"

"The reason the young mistress of the Thornehearts was kidnapped was due to her mana affinity!"

"You might not know this but demons back then were known by their innate abilities and high affinity of ether"

"Born with either the blessing of aura or mana, demons could be said to be born to be extraordinary"

As Avalon said this, Arthur could see a madness rise in his eyes once again, however this time it wasn't due to being brainwashed, rather it was his pure desire of a researcher and scholar breaking through

"However, while the first-ever demon species are known where to be found, and most likely went extinct after the war"

"But while they were here, they did interbreed with a lot of races such as humans, elves, and even some monsters"

"Therefore, when a race suddenly has a child with high mana affinity, it's most likely a return to ancestors occurring"

"Meaning that she awakened the demon blood deep within her"

Listening to Avalon say this, Arthur couldn't help but have a weird expression on his face

How could it be he never realized his sister had demon blood in her when all his dependents were demons too

Unfortunately, Avalon didn't notice Arthur's confusion and continued to explain

"Based on her mana affinity, not only was there a high chance she might be the future demon king, but if we could extract her blood, we might be able to turn ourselves into demons or maybe even create a real demon"

"Not the half-backed monsters in the world now, but the real demons who were able to fight against gods in the old days!"

"What do you think? Join us! And you might have the power of a God in the future!"

Stretching his hand toward Arthur, Avalon seemed to have forgotten he was tortured just now and tried to recruit Arthur into his cult

However, Arthur after hearing all this didn't reply to him, rather just turned toward Leona who stood right behind him

"Leona I've heard enough, ask him a few more questions and dispose of him"

"I'll talk to you all later in the soul world"

Not giving her a chance to reply, Arthur's figure suddenly vanished leaving the two of them alone in the forest

"...….."

"Silence...."

It wasn't until confirming that Arthur had truly gone did Leona step forward and began to act

"Avalon, right? It's you who made the master to be in a bad mood, and it's also you who's hunting down our kind"

"Half-baked monsters you said? Let's see if I'm really half-baked or not"

Walking slowly toward him, a sinister smile appeared on her face

Soon a second round of torture began with Avalon's scream echoing out through the forests
