Birth

After the old man finished his sentence, all I could see was a flash of light before darkness. I was confused, 'where am I?'.

It felt warm and wet. I heard a wooshing sound of water and a faint unknown sound in the background.

"PUSH!" I suddenly heard. I realized that I was about to be born and I was confused. 'Why am I awake right now!'.

Logically there was no way for a baby to be aware of his surroundings before being born and it made even less sense than my barely developed brain contained all of my previous life's knowledge.

I felt cool air suddenly touch my head, as I emerged from the legs of this life's mother. 'What the actual fuck...'.

"It's a boy!" One of the nurses I assume said.

"Please let me see my child," a weak but feminine voice said. I felt the nurse transfer me over to the arms of my so-called mother.

I felt the warm but soft embrace of her arms, as she swayed me back and forth. For some reason, I felt that this was going to be the last time I would be seeing her as the ROB had previously stated that I was going to be an orphan.

"He's so small and cute," she said. I knew that if I could open my eyes right now I would definitely be able to see a smile on her face.

She sighed, "Kazuma, if only you were with me to see your child be born, he looks so much like you." She sniffled and began to softly sob. I thought 'goddamn, this is so depressing. I feel like I shouldn't be here. I'm kinda their kid but at the same time not'.

I suddenly felt a change in her body. She started to loosen her hold on me. She said to the nurse, "Please hold him for me, I don't think I'm going to make it."

The nurse ran to her side and said "Please hold on, the doctor is on the way".

My mother then said to me "My son, your name is Kazuma D. Raiju. Remember that I will always love you and I hope you will live a happy and full life. I'll be joining your father soon, but I will always be with you."

I felt sadness. I felt sadness for a person that I had just met. I tried to open my eyes to at least witness the death of the woman who gave birth to me. My eyes trembled before opening a slight slit. I saw her. She was blond with light blue eyes, she looked like what I would guess a nun, priest, or angel would look like. However, her pale face and dark circles around her eyes indicated her weak condition.

She saw my light blue eyes that had just opened and smiled, "You have the same eyes as me, but you have your father's black hair. Your beautiful my darling son. Goodbye."

Her arms that were holding me felt a slight bit before falling onto her lap. The nurse next to use quickly grabbed me from her arms before shouting for help.
