Setting off

On the day of the date, Alex chose to have breakfast in his room, instead of having it with Aria, as no matter what it was going to be awkward for both of them.

So, naturally he chose not to meet her before the designated time for the date to save them both from the embarrassment that would follow.

Alex knew that the way he convinced her was cringey as hell, but hey give him some credit it was was his first time asking a girl out even counting his experiences from his past life.

He didn't have enough leeway due to the debts his parents had accumulated and dumped on him before running away in his past life to consider a relationship.

Alex knew the theory for a good date but didn't have any practice, even the theory was from one of his dorm mate's who was popular with the girls and used to go on date's a lot.

It didn't take long for the time to pass before it was close to the promised hour, but to Alex it took much, much longer than it usually does.

Every hour, every minute it took seemed to stretch on for forever and ever.

When around 20 minutes were left, Alex left his room towards his destination. After he arrived, it was soon that he heard the sound of Aria's footsteps.

It seems like he wasn't the only one who chose to arrive early as 15 minutes were still left before they had to set out.

It seemed that unlike her usual casual clothes that she is usually wearing at home, she chose to go with a simple and beautiful half sleeve white shirt and a long white pleated skirt. Much like Alex's attire, it was nothing too fancy, as not to attract unwanted attention and pass for a wealthy merchant's daughter. Alex had to admit that although she rarely dressed up but when she did she looked absolutely gorgeous.

"Hey."

"Hi."

The awkwardness in their voices would be evident even to a stranger.

Alex knew that the atmosphere for the first date was extremely important to the date's success.

Trying to lift the mood, he said exaggeratedly.

"You look absolutely stunning today madam will you give this one the honour of accompanying you today."

A chuckle escaped her pink lips as she said mimicking his manner of speech in a haughty tone.

"Hmmm... You have good eyes, as a reward this young lady shall accept your offer, be great full hmph!"

"Ohh... Praise be praise be."

The two looked at each other for a few seconds before breaking out in a laughing fit.

"Hahaha... What was that haha."

Alex also smiled that his little joke to ease the awkwardness worked out.

As they chatted their carriage arrived being driven by a middle aged man, although he looked like a regular civilian he was also a cultivator in the 3rd realm.

Alex offered Aria a hand before saying.

"Shall we?".

Aria smiled as she wordlessly took his hand before getting on the carriage as they set off.
