A New World

My name is Kenji Hashimoto. I was a regular college student, otaku, and a gamer that lived alone in japan. One day, my best friend, Rin, told me about an online game called "God's Seed". She boasted about it for weeks and highly recommended i gave it a try. After downloading the game on my computer, it was time to set my character. In this game, there were no job class system because from what Rin had told me, it is based on stats, skills, and equipments. Titles can also be earned through doing specific actions.

"Grrrr"

(Ah, it must be late. I'll run to the convenience store and get something before i start.)

On the way, i saw a young girl about to get run over by a car. I ran and pushed her aside, causing my death...

"ngh."

(huh? i'm still alive?)

I gip my head with my right hand as my head was stinging from pain. Looking around as i stand up, i found myself in a cave that looked recently abandoned with torches still lit up along the walls with webs aligning the cealing and walls of the cave.

"where am i?"

I sat back down to ease the pain from my head as i recalled the events that lead me here but no matter how hard i tried, only more pain came to my head so i decided to take a rest before doing anything. When the pain subsided, i tried to remember what happened and a memory of being hit by a truck flashed through my mind...

"So i died huh? i hope that little girl is ok though."

(huh?)

At the corner of my view, i found an icon that floated within my field of vision. I tried to open it with my mind recalling one of the many light novels I read about reincarnating with game-like systems. It worked!

(as i suspected, i've reincarnated huh? but if that's the case... do i want to try and find a way back?... No, i've already died and there's nothing for me there. So i'll make the most of it here.)

Checking the "Menu", i went through many options and thought about the "Inventory" option. There was nothing in my bag.

"Hah, so i'm left with nothing from the start huh? well, i'm at least thankful that i'm still alive."

So i decided on checking my status screen.

After checking the system for a while, i found out that "Points" was points i can use for basic stats. I added 2 points to Strength, 2 points to Defense, and 6 points to Speed. In all of the games i've previously played, i've always been the type to prioratize Speed and Strength since Speed always helped my characters with dosging and Strength builds with damage. With this, my stats grew to 20 strength, 20 defense, and 40 speed. Satisfied with checking my status, i got back up and looked over my clothes, which are the exact same from before i died. i wore a regular black T-Shirt with blue jeans and black shoes.

As i felt depressed about it. i heard a sound coming from further ahead infront of my location. curious, i took one of the torches from the walls and walked forward.
