Chapter 8: Fall in love

After resting for a few days, I finally returned to work as usual. Strangely, no one suspected me since the day I was reincarnated in this body. Maybe because the previous Freya is not much different from me.

I was usually assigned to patrol the inner and outter of the main palace. Today I will walk around the city to see the condition of the people and monitor if there is any crime happening.

After walking, it seems that I am quite famous among the people. In Freya's previous memories, Freya always bought any food or goods to help them do business.

"Welcome back, Sir Freya." said a teenage girl in the flower shop.

The teenage girl had dark brown hair in double braids and round hazel eyes. In Freya's previous memories, this girl's name was Yuri.

"Hi Yuri..." I replied to her with a warm smile.

She gave me a violet diasy flower and then ran into the flower shop. In my previous world, Daises convey innocence, loyal love, and purity. It's also said to represent keeping a secret between friends. The daisy is a perky and fun bloom that comes in a wide range of colors and sizes. Without thinking too much, I just took what was given to me as a gift.

Walking around this city feels like I'm just having a fanmeeting. Instead of leaving empty handed and now my left and right hands are full of souvenirs and gifts from the people there. Luckily I only have to patrol this area twice a week. I don't want to trouble them to give me any of their sales items and gifts.

After patrolling I brought home the gift that I got to enter the main palace. On my way to my room, my fellow knights teased me everytime a passed through any of them. It's quite annoying and funny at the same time.

I was then called by Lord Alazuir to his study room to discuss something. Upon arrival, I knocked on the door and announced my presence. Lord Alazuir then allowed me to enter.

After entering, he showed me a couch in front of a large desk filled with piles of papers for me to sit on. I took a pity seeing so many paper works on his desk. He then stood up from his seat and sat opposite the couch where I was sitting now.

"It's a pleasure to meet you again, Your Majesty Lord Alazuir..." I stood up and bowed my head.

"Yes...I'm so glad to see you again Freya." he replied with a smile.

We both sit back.Then a maid bring a snacks and a cup of coffee to be served on the table in front of us. Lord Alazuir and I then took the coffee cup and took a sip.

"As I have already told you, I have something to discuss with you. This is regarding the problem of slavery that is currently rampant in the hidden part of the city." He said in a very serious tone.

I am surprised that there are still more cases related to slavery here and feel very angry when I hear the news about the matter

"I want you to go to the area written on this paper and try your best to solve this case." He said as he handed me an attachment of paperwork to me.

"Then, I want you to be my daughter personal knight to keep her safe. For now, the conversation about my daughter's return has become the talk of the town and people everywhere. I'm afraid that something undesirable will happen to my daughter. What do you think Freya?" He said with hope that I'll agree to this work.

"Yes of course. Don't worry and leave everything to me." I answered to dispel Lord Alazuir's worries.

I actually prefer to be on duty like this than patrolling.

Then I excuse myself to Lord Alazuir. He thanked me for agreeing to accept the offer he gave. I then left the study room to go to Vi's room with regard to me being her personal Knight from now on.

After arriving in front of Vi's door, I knocked on the door.

*KNOKE KNOKE KNOKE

"This is Freya, I have something to discuss with you." I said behind the door.

Not long after I said that, the door opened. Looks like Princess Violet is wearing a simple but beautiful dress. The dress she is wearing now is a simple silver slip dress, matching her hair which she let it loose.

"Come in..." She said as our eyes met.

I then entered. But I don't know where to sit because Vi's room is very simple. In Violet's room there is only one king size bed, a dressing table, a large wardrobe and a medium sized mirror.

"You can sit there." She said pointing to the kimg size bed.

*gulp

Then, I went to sit there and Vi also sat with me.

"What is something important you want to tell me Freya?" She said with a worried look on her face.

"From now on I will be your personal knight. This was ordered by Lord Alazuir himself. I will be there whenever you go to protect you from any harm. I hope you have no objection regarding this..." I said in a tone which is clear so that Vi can easily understand.

Her face looked surprised and very happy.

"O-of couse I have no objection..." she said trying to hide her smile.

Then after discussing, I followed Vi to her study room. Since today is my first day to protect her, I feel a little nervous. This work is very good because I can see Vi's every gesture and different type of facial expression. Whatever she does will cause my heart to beat suddenly.

'Maybe I've fallen in love with Princess Violet' I thought with a sudden realization of my own feelings.

In my previous life, I never had feelings for anyone or maybe I didn't even have time to fall in love because I was too busy working to support my miserable life. I feel very surprised that don't know what to do with the feeling I have right now. This feeling tests me to resist touching every corner of her body and greed to keep her for myself only. I am afraid that one day, Vi will avoid me and disappear from my sight forever.

I guess I really have FALL IN LOVE in her huuuh....
