Chapter 39: Battle II

....What happened next surprised me even more...

Looking from here, I noticed Jenny's sly smile when she sees Zurex backing up. His attack failed to even touch a flash of Jenny body. Jenny seems to hide some big idea in her mind.

'Hahaha.. I wonder what you gonna do Nienie...' I thought in my mind, expecting her to win the match.

As Zurex jumped back from her to retreat, Jenny uses her wind elemental magic then blow an invisible wind attack towards Zurex. Zurex seemed to be unaware of the attack that Jenny aimed toward him, well... it's no surprised that he didn't notice it since it was a fairly strong magic spell.

I was strong enough to watch Jenny's attack move in slow motion. The invisible wind attack unfortunately hit his diaphragm. Hitting that area was actually more dangerous than attacking on his stomach.

'God... she's smart for that' I thought in my mind, smirking.

The attack caused Zurex's lungs to kinda spasm and make him hard to breath. He then fell to his knees and coughing up blood, while he couldn't do anything, Jenny's team members used Zurex's weakness and defeated Zurex members with Jenny's help.

Unfortunately Zurex still scouldn't wake up even after Jenny and her team had finished beating up his team members. The first match ended with a complete victory for Jenny's team. Sadly, Zurex lost badly this time...

"We really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover..." I mumbled to myself as I saw Zurex stands up by the help of the medical team.

The atmosphere at the training ground was unexpectedly lively than usual when many people around came to see the 'just for fun' battle crested by me.

Some of them just come since they heard about the news that Princess Violet will be leaving for to study at The Royal Academy today. Those really spread like wild fire...

The match then continued with Alisa's team and Brandy's team. Long story short, this time Brandy won the match with his unmatched fire elemental power. I knew from the beginning that Brandy would win this match... Alisa could only defend on elemental magic from her team members since she was born without elemental powers...

But not to forget that the great thing about Alisa is that she's a really smart lady in organizing strategies. Whenever we're on any important missions, Alisa is the leader that we trust the most in organizing suggestions and action plans. She's just not used to involved in physical fight.

"Charlet you can choose the team you want to fight." I said to Charlet in monotone.

"I am choosing Brandy's team to fight, Sir Freya." Charlet answered me as she points her finger toward Brandy.

"Alright. Brandy, what about you...? Do you agree with her decision?" I asked Brandy.

"Certainly... heh... how can I even refuse an invitation from our miss Charlet..." Brandy said, giggling.

I'm honestly quite interested in Charlet's strength since I haven't had the chance to see her fighting skill in real life with my own two eyes.

"All, are requested to prepare yourselves now! The match is about to begin!" The referee shouted clearly.

Soon, the match began. Brandy and his team members seem to still chose to use the same weapons while Charlet was strangely armed with nothing.

'It seems like Charlet is quite confident in her abilities...' I thought in my mind.

Seeing Charlet who seemed to underestimate Brandy's strength, Brady's face turned crimson red while narrowing his eyes in anger. Not wasting any oppertunity to win, he ran fastfully around Charlet looking for the best time where Charlet drop her defence and attact her as soon as the match start... based on his reckless movements, I could tell that he decided to use the battle of annihilation strategy to win this match.

Battle of annihilation strategy is basically a strategy of wearing down the enemy to the point of collapse through continuous loss of personnel and material. It is often used to defeat enemies with low resources and high morale.

Although Charlet doesn't seem to care about the situation, she is actually observing Brandy's every gesture and also Brandy's team members who are now busy fighting with her team members silently.

"*Gasp! No way..." I mumbled to myself in shock.

'Did you see what I see Olympus?' I asked Olympus through my mind.

"Yes... thee really didn't expect that..." Said Olympus.

The match ended in a snap of her finger when Charlet showed off her elemental powers. Brandy's grinning face gradually disappeared when she saw Charlet release an ice elemental power that shaped like a long spear in her once bare hand which is said to be the rarest elementel magic known in this world.

The long spear shines brightly, showing how strong and abundant her mana is flowing inside the spear. I am somehow strangely uncomfortable with this situation... Charlet then pointed the tip of her long spear toward that spechless Brandy and said 'shoot'.

'Wait. Fire and Ice... Oh Gosh! He's gonna die...' I snap out of my thought.

"Brandy don't just stand there! Watch out!" I shouted to Brandy but I know that it's just too late.

I then had to forcefully unleash the darkness that burried deep inside my body. Suddenly the same black wings that were last seen when I fought with the slavery criminals a few months ago sprouted back from my body.

I sped towards Brandy, and... luckily I managed to prevent Charlet's uncontrolled attack from hitting him. Otherwise I might lose one knight under my order on this important day...

"Ugh... *Cough!" I vomited blood after receiving an unexpectedly strong attack from Charlet.

"Sir Freya!" Heard everyone worried voice as they come to see my condition.

"The match is postponed!" Shout the judge quickly when he sees me already crounching on the ground.

"No!" I said as I tried to stand up.

"Charlet clearly win this match! It's her win. *Cough!" I said again.

"Then! As what Sir Freya said! This match ended with team Charlet win!" Shouted that referee.

Charlet's hands were shaking when she saw me cough vomiting blood, she looks really traumatic, I am a bit worried about her though.

Brandy was immediately taken to the infirmary to examine his body condition, he still look dumbfounded and spechless but he's able to thank me before he left. Charlet tried to come close to me... but out of the blue...

"Freya!" The familiar loving voice was heard slowly coming toward me from behind.

'Just when did Violet rushed here far from there... she must be dead worried about me right now...' I thought in my mind.

"You fool! *Sniff A-are you okay...!?" She asked while huging me.

"Don't worry much, dear... this much I can handle- *Cough!" I said to her in a whispering tone so others couldn't hear our conversation.

"How could I'm not worried! You're my love and my only one!" She said angrily but still in a whispering tone.

"I must be crazy if I'm not worried about you..." She said again.

"I'm really sorry dear..." I said to her, felt really guilty.

She then didn't say anything and proceed to only call for the best doctor that available at the time. In the infirmary room, that doctor wrapped my whole body with a white bandage, the burnt wound on my back that prevented Charlet's attack was quite large to be said.

Violet didn't leave me until I finished taking the examination for checking my body condition, but she still didn't seem to say anything since we left the training ground this morning.

Now we have to get ready because we must left the main palace before noon and start our journey to The Royal Academy...
