Chapter V: To the Volcano!

After using the [Healing Flower] to heal from his wounds, Algard cleaned up the [Ice Lair] and could now go to the next gate of the three that he already knew before.

"Phew... Finally, the gate is cleared... I think it's time for me to teleport to the next one!"

In the window that appeared, Algard was presented with a choice between two D-rank dungeons:

[ The Mouth of the Grost Volcano [D], the Mountain Range [D] ]

Without thinking twice, Algard chose [the Mouth of the Grost Volcano] as the next gate to the cleanup. At that moment, his vision became a little blurred, and everything shone with a bright glow in front of his eyes.

Finally, after 5 minutes, Algard found himself in a place similar to an arena, but located in a room completely surrounded by violently bubbling lava.

[ Objective: Survive 7 waves and kill all monsters ]

[ Start of the first wave: in 15 seconds ]

While the timer was slowly coming to an end, Algard stood in the middle of the arena, preparing to activate [Chilling Squall], which will become Algard's main support in this gate.

[ First wave: Ifrit [D] [x3] ]

Around the edges of the arena, flying, burning monsters began to appear, similar to golems, but only consisting entirely of fire.

They began to approach Algard with a booming noise, constantly whispering. At the moment when all the Ifrits were +/- 1 meter apart, Algard used [Chilling Squall]. The icy, fast wind slowed down the Ifrit, additionally extinguishing one of them, which meant that the Ifrit was killed.

It was only possible to use the same skill a couple more times, and Algard would have coped with the first wave. This happened, after which Algard received a notification about the sweep of the first wave.

While the timer was nearing the end again, Algard absorbed the souls of the Ifrits, getting a good boost of strength and agility. It is worth noting that with each wave the number of opponents increased, but there was only one type of monster in the gate - Ifrits. Therefore, clearing the gates should not be so problematic for Algard, probably...

[ Second wave: Ifrit [D] [x5] ]

Following the same principle, Algard tried to defeat monsters using only one skill, but, alas, the rollback of [Chilling Squall] did not allow the skill to be used too often. So Algard tried to attack them with his claws. And, oddly enough, Algard was able to somehow break off one of his hands from the Ifrit, which is why he could no longer fly, falling with a crash. Followed by a loud crunch.

[ Second wave - monsters killed ]

The rest of the waves went the same way, except for the last one, in which there was only one monster - a Lava Giant.

With him, Algard did not have to suffer for a long time, because after one use of [Chilling Squall], the giant stopped moving, from the word at all. And, thanks to this, Algard was able to crush the Giant to shreds, leaving no part intact.

In total, Algard absorbed 38 souls along with the Giant's soul, receiving:
