Reincarnated As A Pokémon: The Tale Of The Hisuian Decidueye

Reincarnation is splendid, usually when you're the one experiencing it. Plus the perfect world and helpful cheats, it has a lot of content to use. Will just had to be lucky. - Pokémon MC - System - Alternate Universe - Overpowered MC - R18 - Harem - Writing for fun, but I'm always happy for constructive criticism.

Chapter 1

That was it.

No more was Will.

By the time the bell tolled, he had passed on.

Now, walking through perpetual darkness, Will rolled his left shoulder in boredom.

He had no drive.

There was no reason to walk, yet he did. Will's body felt like air. He continued. All his life, he wondered if there was meaning. So many sleepless nights over this led to many upon many moments where he had an existential crisis.

His soulless steps stopped in their tracks once it appeared.

"Welcome, Will."

It was a figure of something. What caught Will off guard was how he could see this silhouette in absolute black.

"No worries," It spoke again, not moving from its spot, "I shall not harm you,"

"Who...are you?" Will's lips trembled.

"God,"

Will stood in shock.

Not only did he think of all the interpretations of those many religions back on earth, including the atheists, he felt a warmth in his chest. Like some type of closure.

There was a god.

However, it took Will a moment to speak. Some feelings of anger and excitement took over for a moment. If God heard them, he would surely be punished in some way, shape or form. Caution was recommended.

"If you're god," He said carefully, "am I in heaven or hell?"

"I...do not call this place 'heaven' nor 'hell'," It replied blankly, "nor do I judge thee for your impure thoughts,"

A chill slid down Will's spine.

"For the reason you are here, is chance," The figure spoke, "the only exit available for you is chance,"

Out of the floor, ascended a round object.

It looked like a wheel. On it, slices of names. The object stopped once half of its body was out of the floor.

"This will decide your reincarnation," Will looked at the figure with a raised eyebrow, "I know your interests, so it's only fair if those appear on this list,"

Will wanted to ask something, but his curiosity spiked when he read the names.

'High school DxD?'

'Monsterverse?'

'Jujitsu Kaisen?'

He looked at the silhouette.

"I'm confused," Will said, his hands on his head, "why do this for me? Is this my punishment?"

"You appearing here was by chance," It answered, pointing an arm at the wheel, "this is your reward,"

Will stared in surprise.

"Does this mean I cannot ask you questions?" He blinked, "All my life, I've had no answer. Now I've met you, I need to hear the truth,"

"I understand," It replied, "you'll find your solution once you've spun the wheel,"

He lowered his shoulders.

"Okay,"

When he gripped the circular outline of this wheel, Will could feel how heavy it was when he moved his hands from side to side, rolling the object a little.

"Reincarnation, you say?" Will looked at the figure, "My past life is nothing, then?"

"It was something," It said, "but do not worry over what you cannot control. You had a good life, now's the time to start over, and find your answer,"

A spasm of heartbeats rung inside Will's chest.

For the first time after his death, he felt something. Anticipation. All he could do now was spin the wheel.

That's what he did.

With all his effort, the wheel rotated quickly, shifting through what seemed like endless possibilities.

Each tick, the wheel gradually slowed. By now, Will could see the names.

'Warhammer 40k'

His heart stopped when he saw this, but it looked to past such a world.

'Attack On Titan'

'Come on,' Will thought as the wheel slowly turned, 'please let there be a better world,'

As it rolled the next name, there was a glimmer of hope and excitement from him.

'Berserk'

He gave up immediately.

It seemed the wheel would come to a halt.

From what it looked like, Will was having a crisis yet again.

CLICK!

The wheel, after a grand spin, came to an end.

Right in the middle of two slices.

When Will looked closer, he saw the arrow in the middle of the circle was slightly more on one side.

'Pokemon'

"Phew," Will sighed loudly, his heart ceasing its heartbeats.

"That's where you'll be going," The figure spoke, "of course, that was not all that was chosen,"

"Not all?"

"The world itself has many universes within," It replied, "not only that, you were even given a system, one that'll make your life more beneficial,"

"What universe will I be in?" Will narrowed his eyes, "Is there anything different?"

"You'll be a pokémon,"

As it said that, another wheel rose from the dark floor. There were names of pokémon on instead.

"This will decide what pokémon I'll become, right?"

"Yes,"

With a grunt, Will applied force to the wheel, and it rotated quickly once again.

'My chances should be good,' The wheel slowed, 'Come on, let lady luck be on my side,'

Once it stopped, Will saw the name.

'Hisuian Decidueye'

He nodded.

The figure spoke again.

"This came to be through randomness," It said, "don't forget that,"

"I have nothing to say," Will looked away, "but, thanks, I appreciate this blessing,"

"Be thankful for your luck," The figure spoke, "now that that's over, I shall begin your reincarnation,"

As that was said, Will began to see light all around him. When he gazed at his hands, all he could see were the outlines. He could call them lightbulbs.

"Good luck," He could see a smile, "you will find your answers on this path,"

Everything went dark once more.

However.

Around him, the bristle of the wind against leaves. The calm pace of a river nearby.

Will opened his eyes.

His heart dropped.

Below, the bright rays baked the grassy floor, something that was far away from Will's perspective.

"That's...quite the drop," He let out, quivering on the spot, "wait..."

He realised he sat on a branch, his orange-brown talons gripped the faulty extension.

'If I recall,' Will thought upon seeing the text in front of him, 'God gave me this,'

'Interesting,' He kept his eyes on the words, 'what are my 'stats'?'

Seeing all this information, Will took a moment to absorb it all.

'There is for sure a heap of potential here,' He read the box of lines over and over again, 'by the looks of it, I'll be overpowered,'

'But,' Will shook his head, his eyes trembling, 'Will I die from this height?'

Opening his wings, Will turned his head to look at them. He nearly puked at how much he could rotate his neck.

'This is very interesting,' He looked behind him, his right wing at the corner of his eye, 'wait a minute,'

Even if he were in what would be called a threatening situation for his once-human self, Will couldn't help but nitpick.

'Rowlet may be a pokémon, but it's an owl,' Will's vision rolled around, 'why the hell are my eyes moving?'

He rolled what he could call the shoulder part of his circular body around, and sighed.

'How rude of me,' Will looked at the sky, 'maybe it knows now? Great,'

A gust of wind shook the branch he was on.

"O-Oh, okay! Okay!" He exclaimed, spreading his wings again, "Sorry about that, I won't complain a second time!"

Not much later, the wind lessened.

The more Will thought about it, maybe that being made it that way? It was a different pokémon world, after all.

A different world.

'Is there humans?' Will's eyes widened, 'I'll never know if I don't move,'

As he shifted his feet on the wood, the forest floor made him gulp.

He was only human, after all.

Yet, even as Will stood on a tightrope high in the air, there was this taste of familiarity. Like a chore at home, it was normal for him.

Relaxed, Will opened his talons and fell.

For a moment, his heart jumped from his chest to his throat, then it quelled as his wings flapped coolly.

In the air, he fluttered.

Slowly but surely, Will landed safely on the ground below.

He sighed in relief.

'Not as terrifying as I thought,' Will heaved a little, 'I'm Rowlet,'

'I'm...Rowlet...'

The thought pulled at his heartstrings.

'There's no place like home,' He inhaled, stepping around, getting a feel for the soft, grassy floor, 'I'm not home anymore,'

Will studied the tree, turning his whole body to see the top.

He flushed red in embarrassment.

'I'm small,' Will covered his face with a wing, 'I swear to god I was on top of a skyscraper,'

Lowering his wing, Will fixed his green bowtie.

'Arceus sounds better,' He thought, 'I am a pokémon,'

Just then, an idea popped into his head.

'Feather blades, is that right?' Will looked at his wings and knew exactly what he was looking for.

'Bullseye.'
