That was an interesting way to explain a rampaging Knight's reason behind killing so many people. But, of course, Mavislin probably willfully ignored the Black Knight's killings because it was doing her a favor by purging out the unwanted people in the Domain.
"However, I have no clue why the Black Knight was associated with Fabian Brookes, nor do I know her name. But what I do know is that fighting her would be tougher than the rest of the kids," explained Mavislin before snuggling into Baldwin's arms.
Before proceeding with the last kid, something rushed into my mind. I flinched as the thought hit me like a lightning bolt. How could I have been so dumb not to realize?! These five children weren't supposed to be children at all! I know I was still linking things to the novel, but...
The changes between the two realms were far too significant! In the novel, the Dollhouse Mission was the case after the Six Rogue Mage Mission, where each Founder had been activated to hunt Six Mages that were killing and kidnapping random people all over the Five Domains.
And that Mission started right after the Orphanage had been created, not three months after! And out of the Six Mages had the same names and physical descriptions as the kids we were discussing now. How was that possible?! If so... Then, could I still use the information...
"Notice. Your mind is reaching dangerous levels of panic and confusion, starting auto-shutdown to regain stability."
I knew something about the Black Knight that I had read in the novel, but I couldn't recall the exact line... At that moment, I noticed my vision was starting to blur out as I heard Bryan calling out my name and Vania placing a huge 'Shutting Down' pop out on the interface.
Finally, when met with pitch-black darkness, I could recall what the main thing that scared me about the Black Knight within the novel was. The fact that Merlin never created the Black Knight and was reusing the corpse of the Knight Of Rebellion as a puppet.
I found myself lying on a super comfy bed with a thick dark blue blanket covering most of my body when I woke up. I could see several pop-outs around my interface stating that the system was slowly booting up, followed by Vania's voice welcoming me back into the world.
Wait, why did I blackout? Why did I shut down?
"Notice. You had information overload within a whole day that caused your mind to cease all function to understand the data."
In other words, my mind crashed like an overworked computer, unable to take in the data all at once.
"Notice. That is correct, and I would highly recommend regulating the input level into your database until you head onto the next level. Also, note that you cannot cast any protection spells to defend yourself against any threats."
Well, that's sensible enough. Also, that gave me an idea, and I checked my Bond Levels with the Founders and Bryan. Unfortunately, the Slayer's Bond Level remained the same while Z and Mavislin's levels increased slightly. Whelp, at least it's better than nothing.
As I tried getting up, I noticed the room wasn't Z's area and looked completely different. For starters, the ceilings and walls were purple. It felt like I was in a royal's room with fancy designs on the bed frame and the overall theme of the place.
I glanced down to see polished wooden floorboards staring back at me. I was on a bed next to a wall with a beautiful stained glass window by my left side. The room was quite big as I continued scanning the area. The door was dark oak and had a large door handle opposite my bed.
Further down the wall behind me was a large wardrobe and in front of me was a hanging rack of several weapons I would love to use. From swords and bows to axes and spears, the range of weaponry was a sight to behold. But I wasn't sure if I could use it.
I flipped the soft blanket away and hopped onto my feet, making a beeline toward the weaponry. I was gawking at the weapons in awe that I failed to see a figure smoking and sitting in the corner of the room. I thought it was a shadow until...
"It looks like you've taken quite a nap. Are you hungry?" asked Bryan, sitting on a chair at the desk beside the wardrobe.
I could only jump when I heard his voice. I nodded as I listened to my stomach growl. Bryan sighed and went outside, presumably to get some food. I looked out the window, only to realize it was still daytime. And then it hit me...
