Running as fast as he could Vorbuk kept his speed up with that of the cambion, Chete. Sinking down into the shadows below his feet like a phantom he was able to push his speed a bit more. Jumping right back out of the shadows in front of Chete causing him to come to a sudden halt while he scanned the area with his eyes for a new route to evade the wolf. He was not able to converse with Vorbuk so the reasons behind the beast trying to put a stop to him leaving was unknown to him. Vorbuk was determined to stop Chete from leaving Cista to the best of his own ability; which for him felt very limited.
"Hello? A little help here!" Vorbuk shouted out in his mind at god's voice. When it came to replying the voice never ignored him even if it was to give him a simple one word answer but for some reason the voice had gone silent on him.
Chete's body rushed toward a building until the cambion shot upward. Running the man jumped from one rooftop to another as Vorbuk chased him from below. Their motions both began to slow as the sky above had began to shift into what felt to Vorbuk as something similar to the northern lights from his home world. The sudden change in the sky, however, for Chete was not something he felt concerned with because he had lived a long time and seen many strange things in his days. In an attempt to take advantage of Vorbuk's confusion the man dropped down from the rooftop.
Vorbuk could see Chete from the corner of his eye as the man tried to turn down an alley to escape him. Quickly turning to rush after the cambion he was halted in place at the sight in front of him as Chete was sent flying backwards, collapsing onto his back in the street from a sudden fist that had landed dead center against his face. If Vorbuk was still human he was certain his own face would have paled at the sight in front of him as he realized that fist was the dragon's. Bredret was slowly stepping out of the alley with his golden eyes glaring down at Chete.
"I'm sorry. I thought I saw a bug." Bredret cleared his throat slightly as he obviously felt no regret for his action in punching Chete in the face. After a slight pause in his apology he continued to make the situation feel worse for Vorbuk. "I wasn't wrong."
"A bug? You just punched Chete in the face! Aren't you guys looking for him!" Vorbuk's voice came across as a shout to Bredret as the dragon turned to glance in his direction.
"Daryl and the others maybe, but I do what I want. Which was to punch a bug in the face." Bredret shook his head slightly as he spoke. He never was fond of Chete from the beginning and the idea of asking him for help during the current state of things was still something that felt uncomfortable for him.
"Bredret, you trash dragon!" Chete coughed as he pulled himself back up to his feet and stood there glaring at the dragon in his human form.
"How did you even know I was here?" Vorbuk ignored the shouting Chete to ask.
"Did you forget I'm a dragon? I could hear you screaming at someone to help easily." Bredret grit his teeth slightly as he felt like his pride as a dragon had just been insulted for Vorbuk to assume he'd so easily not hear him.
"Yet you never came before?" The question subconsciously escaped Vorbuk.
"I said I could hear you.. Not that I would aid you. I just came because I assumed this idiot was here." Bredret's head cocked to look away from both Vorbuk and Chete, who was getting annoyed that his presence was being ignored. The thought of heading back to the inn to sleep or drink began to flood Bredret's mind as he had already forgot about both of them for a split second.
"Trash dragon! How dare you punch me only to ignore me!" Chete shouted as his red eyes began to glow slightly.
"Insect, how dare you call me trash! It's not my fault your face pisses me off!" Bredret shouted right back at him as his own golden eyes released a faint golden light. A heavy bellowing growl could be heard from his throat as he stood there trying to refrain from ripping the cambion to shreds in the street.
"What are you doing here with a companion? Ain't socializing with others against your innate nature?" Chete glanced over at Vorbuk as the wolf slowly paced it's way over closer to where Bredret was standing. He had never known the dragon to accept traveling companions so easily so he could tell right away that something further was going on for the both of them to be conversing in front of him.
"I socialize.. just not with you." Bredret smirked slightly with a hint of pride behind his expression.
"You-!" Chete gripped his fist tighter as he felt the urge to punch the dragon back for his earlier action as well as his words.
"Daryl wanted to see you." Bredret said before the man could finish his own debate over the idea. He knew that Chete would be more likely to speak with Daryl then him.
"Daryl.. Very well. He must make it quick though because I wont be in this damned kingdom much longer. You know as well as I do that I cant stand around for long." Chete clicked his tongue at the thought of conversing with old acquaintances. For him he did not have very many who knew who he was that weren't simply after his life.
"See, mutt? I solved your problem now let's go drink." Bredret started to walk off without so much as a glance back in Vorbuk or Chete's direction.
Vorbuk thought about following after Bredret to bring him back with them but found himself being stopped by Chete's voice calling out to him from behind.
"Don't worry about him, wolf. I know I can't understand what you say but it doesn't take a good pair of eyes to see that you're worried about him walking off. That man has never been able to stand being around me for very long. If I was in his position I probably wouldn't either given the things that happened back in those days. Daryl is probably the only reason he hasn't caved to the idea of just killing me and lets me go." Chete realized he had started to ramble on to the wolf in front of him. He was not certain how much of everything Vorbuk could understand but it felt good to let some of the things out. Shaking his head slightly as a sigh escaped him he began to turn and head towards the direction of the inn that Vorbuk and the others were staying in.
Standing there was he watched the back of Chete and Bredret both heading in different directions he wanted to ask what could drive Bredret to dislike Chete so much that he would wish for the man's death. There was no way for him to ask the things to Chete and he was certain the dragon would not be willing to speak of it with him so his only option was to ask Prince Leo later when he had the chance so he could sate his curiosity about the situation.
