Vorbuk felt like his entire body was heavy, especially around his neck. His eyes struggled to open. It felt like he was being moved on a carriage. Slight vibrations from the moving carriage could be felt under him.
Did I pass out? Vorbuk thought to himself. An aching pain could be felt in his head. Recalling the moment he passed out from Kaiser's sudden attack. After passing out his body had returned to his normal wolf form.
What's going on? Vorbuk looked around once his vision had cleared up. Why do I feel so heavy?
As the wolf looked around he noticed that he was wearing a magic collar around his neck. Trying to use his mana to shift form was impossible. The collar was locking away his use of mana. It would be harder to escape then he thought.
"Do not waste your energy. That collar is something I use on worse beasts then yourself. It could even control a wyvern's mana. " Kaiser's voice said with a slight laugh as he sat across from the beast. "Its size will adjust according to the beast's size wearing it."
Where is he taking me? The wolf thought to himself with a deep growl towards the vampire, Kaiser.
Kaiser watched the wolf study the surroundings cautiously as the collar kept him tied down inside the carriage with him. He knew the wolf could understand him. Even if he could not understand what the wolf tried to convey towards him.
When the carriage came to a stop the vampire climbed down first. The knights around Kaiser untied the wolf from inside the carriage. Collar tight around his neck. He was pulled down from the carriage by a chained leash. Vorbuk tried to struggle against them while growling but he felt useless.
My mana..! Vorbuk desperately wanted to use his shadow mana and escape. If only the collar was off his neck. First chance I get I will get you back for this, Kaiser!
"Bring him inside." Kaiser ordered his knights.
The knights replied, "Yes!"
Turning to head inside the vampire listened to the sounds of the beast struggling from behind. The knights were able to keep him under control. Dragging the wolf inside Kaiser's mansion.
How did you even get me out of the Maroon Inn without being noticed? Vorbuk did not understand why Kaiser knew so much about Maroon Inn.
Vorbuk pulled on the chain, attempted to attack the knights, or tried to force his mana to come out. It did not matter what he attempted to try. Everything he tried was futile in escaping. He could only watch while being forcibly dragged along behind Kaiser by the vampire's own personal knights. The vampire was not a simple one.
"Try as much as it pleases you. No matter what you do I wont allow you to escape." Kaiser sighed as he watched the knights struggle to force the beast into a large iron barred cage.
It was covered from top to bottom in magic circles. A cage that truly gave the vampire control over the beast inside the cage. He could choose whether or not to allow the creature inside to use its mana. Something he used for rare beasts he caught for trade. Allowing him to keep them secure until he wanted them gone.
Kaiser flopped down on his chair facing the cage, smiling he said, "You wont be able to break all those magic seals. My collar alone on you wont allow you any chance of freedom when it comes to your mana."
The wolf growled at Kaiser deeply. Jumping at the iron bars he grabbed hold of one with his jaws.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
CLANG! CLANG!
Vorbuk yanked at the iron bars with his teeth. They would not break nor show signs of being yanked loose. He tried the same thing over and over again.
CLANG! CLANG!
Giving up on that method he began slamming his body against the bars a few times. He had to find a way out. His breathing was heavy as he tried to think of another method.
"My lord, what should we do now?" A knight of higher rank asked he vampire.
Kaiser glanced over at the knight and replied with a cold tone, "Send word for General Vulen to come. I have the beast as he asked for obtaining it. Now it is time for his end of the deal."
Kaiser had agreed to help that elf capture the wolf as he crossed over into Drethia. He was also someone who thoroughly looked into information on his targets given. Though the vampire was surprised to find out the beast was also the king of Theapan. It was not often that such a rare beast could be found. Even if he found interest in such a rare beast as Vorbuk there was no interest in being the one to carry the beast all the way to he capital for the king.
I will return this favor. Vorbuk growled deeply at Kaiser while pacing back and forth inside the cage. Feeling like a animal in a zoo as the vampire stared at him. It was unpleasant.
Kaiser chuckled as he smiled at the beast, "Do not look at me like that. I might mistake it as you declaring you would eat me alive."
Getting up from his chair, Kaiser walked over to the cage. Kneeling down to come face to face with the beast. The wolf snarled at the vampire through the iron bars. Those red eyes glaring threateningly at Kaiser.
"General Vulen will be coming soon. It should not be long before you are dragged off directly to the king." Kaiser earnestly added, "While we wait would you like to play a game?"
The wolf barked and snarled. Trying hard to bite the vampire through the iron bars of the cage. His paws stretching out through the bars in an attempt to at least get closer to scratch him. Kaiser was just out of his reach.
"I will take that as a no." Kaiser said while standing back up. He had no time to waste by sitting around with the wolf. "I will see you again soon."
This guy has lost his mind. Vorbuk thought to himself as he glared at the vampire.
Vorbuk watched the vampire leave the room. Kaiser had gone deeper into the mansion for his own work. It was impossible to remain watching over the wolf the entire time. This gave Vorbuk time to look over the cage from top to bottom. There had to be a way for him to escape.
Even if it meant forcing his mana to come out. He would find a way to break free from the shackles that bound him here.
[ Caution! ]
[ Excessively forcing your mana to break free from the magic seals could be dangerous. ]
A familiar voice called to him from the system messages. Was the god worried about his decision? Vorbuk was not sure what the god was thinking. The only thing he knew was that it did not matter to him in the moment. He had to find a way to escape at any cost.
"Lets find out." Vorbuk muttered to himself.
