"Thou dare to sully this place with your presence," Kalen's voice was so cold that if was as if the man was trying to send daggers with his tone alone. "Impudent!"
In a fit of anger the man gripped his staff tighter. His wings spreading wide apart as a red light flashed around him. The chains that once shackled him among the air were shattered midway. What remained attached to the ceiling and floor could be heard clinking against the stone as they fell limp.
What chain remained around his ankles and wrists clattered against the floor as he strode forward in their direction.
"What is that? A fallen?" The prince said as he thought over the name that was given to him as he viewed Kalen from where he stood. "Given the time he's been resting in the dungeon as the master of the place he's probably raised his own mana to a terrifying extent so you should be careful."
Kalen grasped the chain around his free hand and swung it toward Prince Leo with great accuracy. The prince had to quickly raise his sword to block the chain from striking into him directly. His body however could hardly withstand the impact causing him to grunt in pain as he struggled to remain standing. On the ground marks could be seen where his feet had been forced back a few inches.
"Leo!" "Your Highness!" The others shouted in his direction with worry.
"I'm alright." Leo responded back to them.
"Fireball!" The prince shouted as he sent a ball of flame from the palm of his hand straight at Kalen.
Kalen raised his staff without any change to his expression. A flash of light shooting forth from his staff like that of a shield blocking the flames of the prince. The smoke from the flame was enough to temporarily blind his sight on their group.
To his sides he could see Ashley and Bredret trying to catch him off guard. Flinging his wings wide open in order to prevent them from landing a strike on his body. His wings collided against them sending their bodies flying under the nearby pillars.
Kek!
Kalen coughed up a bit of blood as he felt the prince's cold blade stabbing into his shoulder causing his face to crumple. The look in his eyes darkening as he grasp hold of the blade and pulling it back out feircly towards the prince. Leo's sword hilt slamming against his stomach as he stumbled to remain standing and reposition his weapon.
Wrapping the chain around his hand once again Kalen sent it flying. This time it was not aimed at anyone directly. The chain began to glow from the effects of Kalen's staff and stretch in length as it wrapped around the pillar that Bredret was collapsed under.
RUMBLE~
The ground could be felt shaking beneath their feet as Kalen pulled on the chain. Dust and rubble began to fall from the ceiling as the pillar cracked.
"Bredret, get out of there!" Daryl shouted in his direction as he saw the pillar beginning to crumble. Bredret was still a bit confused and not listening to what the others said to him.
Daryl and Leo both rushed for Kalen with their swords in order to stop him from collapsing the pillar. The man used his staff in order to block their blades from making contact with his body. They could hear the sound of their swords scraping against the staff.
No matter how many times they struck forth and aimed for him they could not strike him directly. Every once in a while they could see small barriers in front of them created by Zoe from behind as she tried to block any attacks they would receive from Kalen in return. She was not use to aiding others with her own mana so her abilities were not perfect but she could not stand the thought of them getting wounded in front of her without doing anything to help.
Vorbuk growled and stood beside Prince Leo as he sent his shadow mana up into the prince's blade. Every strike the prince's blade made left a dark, black, aura in the air. The blade almost seemed to become sharper. Leaving sharp sounds in the air as he scraped across the staff of Kalen.
BOOOOMMM!
It was not enough for them to prevent it. The pillar came crashing and crumbling right down atop the dragon. Among the rubble Bredret was completely buried alive.
"You.." The prince grit his teeth at the sight of Bredret's suddenly being buried before them.
"Bredret, you alright over there?!" Daryl was the only one without a worried look on his face. After knowing the dragon as long as he had there was no doubt in his mind that Bredret would not die from such a situation. From personal experience he was only worried Bredret would loose his temper and get them all in a worse situation by shifting into his real form and causing the place to collapse.
A loud rumbling sound could be heard from the pile of stone rubble. Bredret's hand breaking free from the pile. Slowly be struggled to climb his human form out from beneath it all. There was a distinct look of annoyance in his eyes as he glared in the direction of Kalen. Dirt coated his body from top to bottom and his hair looked like he had just awoken from one of the worst nights of sleep he had ever gone through.
"I'm gonna kill that-!" Bredret wanted to swear badly but was quickly cut off. Lowering his voice he swore unknown words to himself.
"That's his only good point as a dragon," Daryl spoke quickly as to ensure Bredret did not get carried away with a personal feud while they were in such a situation and so he sighed. "He's not only head strong but he can take one hell of a hit from others."
Vorbuk wanted to laugh but could only muster up a faint smile out of relief. If that had been someone else they would had died. Since Bredret was a dragon his body even in human form could take a heavy hit from someone and still endure.
Clanking sounds from the chains filled the air as they shot forth again. Heading in the direction where Ashley had climbed back to his feet by another pillar. Unlike Bredret who had been taken while off guard Ashley had expected him to use the same trick again. The blade of his Scythe swiped through the air at an inhuman speed. As he swung it through the air the blade latched into the chains and he pulled it firm within his own grasp.
"Impudent mortals!" Kalen shouted out of anger as he tried to pull his chain back towards him. It would not return to him as Ashley held the end of it in his own hands and continued to restrain his arm by holding it back.
Kalen's golden eyes glowed brightly as he could only counter attack with his staff. If they would not release his arm then he would simply use another method to deal with them. Raising his staff in the air he slammed it down against the floor where he stood. A bright magic circle burst forth from the ground beneath them.
