This was his impression as he was immersed in a viscous liquid. He couldn't see anything and any sound reached him muffled. While he knew the situation should have alarmed or scared him, he couldn't bring himself to care.

But, when he tried to remember something about himself or his relationships, he came blank. He didn't remember his friends or parents, heck, he didn't even remember his own name.
For a moment he panicked, but soon the strange comfort returned. And so he continued floating, peacefully.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but suddenly two fleshy walls closed on him and started squeezing. He was immediately jolted awake. While in pain he started squirming until he found himself in a blinding light. He could feel two enormous hands holding him and he heard two womanly voices talking.
(???) "Why he isn't crying?"
(???) "Don't worry Madam. Sometimes it happens. I know how to deal with the situation."
A slap landed on our protagonist's butt. The sudden pain and the traumatizing situation caused him to cry loudly.
He was wrapped with a warm blanket and then passed from one woman to the other. When he was passed to the second woman the feeling of peace and comfort returned and he stopped crying. He looked up and saw a beautiful woman with black straight hair and blank eyes. She was looking down at him with love and affection. He instinctively knew that she was his mother.
'Wait. Mother?'
At that moment he realized that he was actually reincarnated.
'I wonder if I am still in my native world. Maybe I am in an anime or movie world like in those fanfictions. No way, right?'
The door of the room was opened and a young man entered and asked hurriedly: "Hariko, how are you? Is he born?"
