Regrets - Chapter 3 - Sasuke x Sakura

A fight ensued that day of course. He had attacked Sakura himself, expected her to defend herself but she just stood frozen. He was glad for Naruto intervening. He would have pulled back before he hurt her, but Naruto got there before he had to. He was relieved. If he had pulled back, then they would have known it was an act. That he did care.

He saw the broken look in Sakura's expression as he came close to hurting her, he felt so much regret for everything he had put them through. But he had a steadfast goal to kill his brother, his feelings for Sakura, his friendship with Naruto was irrelevant. He would kill his brother, and he would accept dying as he tried.

These feelings he had for Sakura would fade, she would do better with another who could care and love her without this darkness. Sometimes he wished he didn't have to be this way. Perhaps she would fall in love with Naruto, he could care for her much better than he could.

If only he had known at that point what their timeline would be. If only he had known that he would eventually marry Sakura and have a daughter with her in the future. Even then, surrounded by his family, he still had so many regrets on his path to darkness.
