The weakest mage

ORION'S POV:-

I was born in Ikonaski village of Kostan kingdom. A small village at the corner of Kostan.

When I turned 5, my father died. He was killed while hunting a monster on the outskirts of the forest near Ikonaski village.

From there my mother started taking care of me, soon things turned better as I too started helping my mother out, everything was going to be fine, but the reality was cruel. Because...

When I turned 8 my mother fell ill from a severe disease, I started to work on the farm along with my basic studies. I also did extra work at the blacksmiths to cover for my mother's medicine.

This continued for another 2 years

When I turned 10, my mother died, as if that wasn't enough, a few months later a rouge devil came to my village and kidnapped all the children, he killed all the villagers.

He took us to the demon continent and locked us in a cell for the next few years.

During that duration, the devil energy entered my body, I was slowly turning into a devil.

A few years later, I fully transitioned into a devil.

I was sent to hunt monsters, became stronger as I hunted more and more.

I then came to like fighting.

I started dreaming about fighting the most powerful person in this world.

But that was a far-fetched dream.

At the very least I wanted to die a glorious death.

I wanted to fight stronger opponents.

I grew more greedy.

Then I was taken in by Lord Ladros.

He took care of me.

I got to fight stronger opponents.

He helped me become a supreme demon.

Then... I was asked to fight the red maniac mage, I heard she was pretty strong.

I was asked to distract them from their kids.

The plan was simple but perfect.

Assasins to infiltrate the mansion and scout the targets.

A supreme devil to kill everyone in the mansion.

Another supreme devil to stop the red maniac mage.

A time scroll for giving the mid demons enough time to kidnap the children.

Two magicule suppression scrolls to suppress the supreme mages.

2 spell forgetting scrolls for extra precautions against glass magic and light magic.

Everything was supposed to go according to plan

But then, the kidnapping party was wiped out.

We had to change our approach to defeat the supreme mages.

I immediately activated my transformation.

A confrontation with the red maniac mage at my full power.

My body was trembling with excitement.

I started attacking her.

I was enjoying the battle.

But then...

I was defeated.

'It is fine though'

It was the glorious death that I wished for.

I was happy

But then Hell creeper came.

I didn't like the smile he had.

He grabbed my head and said something about Lord Ladros' plan.

After that...

He started absorbing me.

I couldn't do anything.

It was suffocating.

Soon...everything turned black.

LIGHTS POV:-

Everything turned black, time stopped and I froze at my spot.

A reaction I created by enhancing my subconscious senses, to detect any possible worst-case scenarios to auto-enhance all my senses at once.

Necessary, for it helps fight against unknown dangers, or else I might die without even knowing how or why.

'[Mana chain circuit: The One]', I muttered as I combined all the previous steps I did last time, I slowly moved my body.

Time was still frozen...no, to be more accurate time was moving extremely slow.

I opened my eyes and saw what was happening around me.

Sophia was on her knees full of despair.

'Looks like she exhausted her mana.'

Chase and Corey were shouting at someone.

There were two devils, who were almost at the brink of death, covered with vines all over their bodies.

My mother was heavily injured, she was on her knees too but she still looked fierce.

And a strong devil standing right in front of her.

His one hand was reaching mother, 2cm away from her head...almost.

I walked towards the devil...

Then...

SOPHIA'S POV:-

""MOTHER"", shouted Corey and Chase.

Everything was going to be destroyed at the hands of the supreme devil...

But he stopped...

'Huh?'

Looking carefully...' what?'

I was confused, because...

The devil's right hand, which he was moving towards Julia, was...missing?

The surrounding turned silent.

Suddenly...

" Hey, buddy!! looks like you need a hand." Someone shouted from the left side.

I looked in the direction of the voice.

It was...

'Light?!'

'Was he the one...no no no...it can't be him...but?...in his hand...it looks like the devil's right hand.'

"Honestly, I really really wanted to stay passive.", he spoke shaking his head.

" It would have been so much better if you guys would have done something like this after 2-3years.", he continued with the same irritated tone," But you had to do it now, didn't you, you bastards?"

"I had so many plans and everything was going on perfectly." He said putting his hands in his pockets.

Then he started walking towards the devil.

"But because of you, now I can't", he continued as he walked.

" Or it would have been better if I knew something like this was going to happen."

The devil vanished...then he appeared right in front of him.

"I know what you did right now, and what you are going to do," he carefreely continued as he saw the devil making a move.

"All things aside. You even tried your hand at mother...seriously?" He asked with a pitiful gaze.

"I mean...congrats! You pissed me off!" He said suddenly getting angered at the situation

"I didn't like you when you absorbed your ally.", he spoke.

" There is a limit, to how pathetic you can be." He muttered as he appeared behind the devil in an instant.

"Well, when all things have been already done." He took out his dagger.

"I guess, I have to change my plans from the beginning then." He spoke as he cut both the legs of the devil.

The devil tried to move back but it was too slow, no...Light was...

Fast...too much fast... I couldn't even see him moving his hands.

When I look at the devil.

The Devil looked terrified...

It was a sight that would normally be unbelievable if you heard from someone else.

The 'Hell creeper' whose name was synonymous to fear was now afraid.

He was moving back slowly, pushing himself back with one hand. He tried his best...

He was really scared of the boy in front of him.

But...

He wasn't the only one...

I was too...

Because I still can't...

I still can't feel a single ounce of mana in his body

'Light...what are you?'

I then took a glance at my body.

My body was shivering.

I couldn't stop trembling.

Was this the fear of the unknown?

Then...

"I guess this is it then", Light spoke as he moved with an expressionless face..

The devil struggled...

" Wait, I-", the devil tried to speak

But...

Light killed him mercilessly.

Such was the end of the ' supreme devil:Hell creeper.'

Light then moved towards the devil with the glasses.

He spoke something to the devil.

The devil looked terrified but then I saw him nodding at something.

Then he moved towards me...

"I know you are afraid of me...but right now Amanda and Linda needs you," he spoke

I snapped out of my daze at his statement.

Then...he stabbed me with his dagger...

And a burst of energy came inside my body.

My mana remained the same but my injuries healed.

'Ah! It's that dagger'

I remembered the dagger he asked me to make for him.

I was scared shitless for a second.

But then I stood up.

I knew what was important right now.

I moved towards Julia and cast a [minor heal] on her.

"We will talk, after we get home...," said Light as he walked towards the direction of Corey and Chase...

"Don't tell anyone anything that happened today..." He spoke passing through them, "Let's go check on Anna and the others"

They both snapped back from their daze too.

Then we moved towards the direction Light was moving.

I took a glance at the high devil with whom Light spoke a bit earlier.

He was still standing there without any motion.

Normally, we would have killed him.

But somehow because of Light... He was alive...

And...

I want to know too...

Light...what are you?
