Chapter 27 The attack

When Emerlda arrived at the hotel room she saw Leo gazing outside the window with a double whiskey in his hands. Emerlda placing her jacket on the sofa said, "Hey Leo, I am glad you are still here for us to talk."

"Did you kill my father?" Leo gritting his teeth asked Emerlda. After a heavy sigh Emerlda replied, "I will not deny that I wanted to rip him apart, but someone beat me to it…" "I am leaving with my mother…are you coming with me?" Leo facing his wife with cold eyes interfered.

The atmosphere was cold and suffocation, the silence was the answer Leo expected. Placing her daggers on the table Emerlda replied, "I am not the type to leave run away from my problems even if l know my death awaits as a solution."

Walking past Emerlda, Leo patted her shoulder and said, "Then let us set ourselves free from this bondage." Emerlda holding onto his hand with tears on her eyes couldn't even utter a word, she slowly released his hand.

Daniel was listening over the coms, he was hurt with how a widow turned to be a divorcee, this was a life of her boss. Emerlda signed the divorce papers and handed them over to Leo, she watched his back as he slowly walked down the hallway.

After Leo entered the elevator Emerlda said, "Today isn't a bad day to die, is my ride ready?" Daniel with a grin on his face replied, "Yes boss"

Travelling on a boat late at night Emerlda gazed at the stars, Daniel stood besides her and said, "Care for one more company?" Emerlda took a cigar from Daniel, she choked herself as she tried to smoke the cigar.

She sat on the ground and said, "I couldn't be a wife he needed but I tried, for ten fucking years I was on sabbatical. I have feelings too you know…Why did he have to leave when I needed him the most? They all leave me when I…need them the most…if I survive this I am going to kill him with my own bare hands" Daniel flinched when he saw the cold look on her face. Daniel three his cigar in the sea and said, "You need time to process this whole…"

"I do not have the luxury to sit in a room and weep like a bitch…this divorce was long term coming. We aren't turning back…I need punching bags for my anger, lucky for me I found a perfect human punching bag…" At the shore they saw a woman with blades awaiting for them standing with a couple of heavily armed men.

Gunshot were fired to their direction, Daniel followed the plan and jumped into the sea. When the gunshot silenced down distant helicopter whirling's could be heard, back up had arrived. The helicopter fired on the enemy as they retreated to the island.

Emerlda with no mercy and blood thirty eyes slaughtered all the men in her way, Qin was in a panic mode as his security system was single handily breached by Emerlda. Dumping the Island was his one-way ticket to escape hell for another day, Emerlda with blood stained eyes and few wounds made her way to the top floor.

She opened the door and saw the sniper meditating on the floor in a room full of weapons and guns. Emerlda looking at the calm sniper said, "Fuck I am exhausted, I don't care if you break half of his body I need him breathing."

The sniper was deaf and dumb, the disability was self-inflicted when she first joined the gang. He sniper suddenly attacked Emerlda, her moves were swift and consistent…she was fast and attentive to every step she took.

Emerlda painting from exhaustion and bleeding heavily from the wounds she sustained from the sniper, she coughed out blood. With a grin on her face she said, "I really hate this day, that asshole left me with an assumption I killed his father…here I am with my ass about to be ripped in pieces. It is my last selfish wish Daniel…"

Emerlda couldn't even lift one more muscle to finish the fight, her body felt heavier and the pain from the wound were severe. She knelt on the ground as she awaited for the sniper to finally finish the job. Emerlda with tears on her eyes said, "Is this how I die Daniel? I can't believe I get to see hell before you…" The sniper injected her a strange drug and she fell on the ground.

Qin was relieved when he saw a helicopter on the rooftop, he instructed, "Go! Go…" Five consecutive bullets were fired onto his direction, Daniel taking off his mask said, "What a cocky bastard…"

Daniel was in a panic mode as he failed to revive Emerlda lying on the table. The doctors lives depended on Emerlda, countless guns were pointed at their heads as they performed the surgery.

Emerlda opened her eyes and saw Daniel asleep beside him, he was holding her hand. Her whole body felt sore, groaning with pain she managed to sit up straight. Emerlda noticed her sniper on the door, she said, "Are you here to finish me up?"

The woman with her hands up in the air walked into the room, Daniel wiping the drool on his face sat up straight. His eyes had dark circles, with a crooked voice he said, "Thank God you are awake, you should take it easy for a while." Emerlda kept glaring at the woman who almost ended her life, Daniel smiled at the woman and spoke to her in sign language.

Emerlda with a puzzled face yelled, "Are you fucking kidding me? She almost killed me and now you are entertaining my enemies…" "Are you planning on killing my sister?" Daniel with a death stare looked at Emerlda who felt goose bumps everywhere.

Looking closer at her she could see the resemblance, Lilly rushed inside the room and hugged the woman. With a smile on her face she said, "Mama, I had missed you." Emerlda with her jaw dropped to the ground said, "What the fuck is going on?!"

The woman's name was Diana and she was the older sister of Daniel, they were separated when they were young after their parents died. Diana confronted Daniel after she gave birth to Lilly asking him to look after his daughter, to gain inside information he aligned with his sister so she would continue working at a right-hand woman to Qin.

Daniel from the beginning was on top of the situation with Qin, every detail went according to his plan. Emerlda busted out in laughter when Daniel finished his sob story, "You have the same DNA to piss me off, I am impressed Daniel."

Diana buried her head on the ground to apologise, another blood thirsty human with advanced sword skills had joined the Evolution. Daniel translated Emerlda's words to Diana, "I will forgive you for almost killing me because you are Lilly's mother and…I admire your sword skills." Filled with relief Diana stood on her feet.

Emerlda looking at Daniel asked, "So what is the next step of this plan of yours."
